The lawyer who shall not be named

Now I'm totally GC and think the way they have behaved in the past is vile (along with the Dr who shall not be named) but the amount of abuse they are receiving is truly horrific.

Some of the responses are abhorrent 'die tr@*^y scum' - no one deserves that. I really hope they lose the case and civil action but it really upsets me that they are receiving such abuse.

I think that the MAGA men are posting vile stuff because they know that the police and TRAs would never go after them.

I think that the bullying and threats aren't ok but I also think it's karma for what they did.i can't imagine the humiliation of being denied a sanitary towel, being put into the back of a police van by 3 officers and being separated from my breast bed child for 7 hours. Twitter is full of death and rape threats yet it's only GC women who have been arrested.

userschmoozer · 12/02/2019 09:53

OK have a think about this - when you see GC women being piled on, are you upset because they are being piled on, or because they are on your side?

To me, the offence is the slurs and the pile on. Its uncivilised.

goldengummybear · 12/02/2019 09:54

I have read that "the lawyer" is not a professional lawyer and only identifies as one.

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 12/02/2019 09:55

Thanks Errol - I didn't think it would go quite like it has though, re reading the OP, I can see how people may read that I think it's our problem to sort but that wasn't my intention at all.

Trousering - not at all, I don't know why you think I would think that? I just didn't want the really important messages getting lost is all - it was a thought I had. Obviously got it wrong or I'm not articulating myself very well.

Blooming heck, absolutely what Katie has been through is truly awful, degrading and utterly deplorable and that's where my conflict lies.

Why do I feel this conflict? I don't know, and this is what I wanted to discuss. Apologies if I haven't articulated myself very well.

WeRiseUp · 12/02/2019 09:59

The lawyer is 'self-trolling' are we sure the tweets mentioned by the op are not the work of their own socks?

userschmoozer · 12/02/2019 09:59

There is no conflict. People either disapprove of bullying or they do it themselves.

FactsAreNotMean · 12/02/2019 10:03

Why do I feel this conflict? I don't know, and this is what I wanted to discuss. Apologies if I haven't articulated myself very well.

Because you're a woman. You've been raised and socialised to be nice and to care about people and to try and fix other people's problems. So it goes against your nature to stand back and laugh.

They have brought this on themselves entirely. They went too far and have now attracted the attention of people much louder and more aggressive than any GC feminist. Tough cheese.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 12/02/2019 10:06

I think they wont report the really nasty tweets

As it will make them look good and give them more ammunition

In the same way that if mumsnet delete a few posts they were all transphobic posts...even if they weren't

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 12/02/2019 10:08

I think its fine to start the thread hey

Lots have been started recently saying that we should be doing stuff...which is why i asked

I appreciate thats not why you started this one Smile

WeRiseUp · 12/02/2019 10:08

Also the lawyer is perfectly capable of attacking people they disagree with, with golf clubs, or getting the police to go and intimidate prole in their homes, or sending themself threatening comms, so I am sure they can handle themself and don't need your sympathy. Expect the mobilisation of golf club wielding coppers shortly.

BettyDuMonde · 12/02/2019 10:09

I fully expect this person will simply change their name for the bazillionth time and re-identify as a whole new person.

RockyFlintstone · 12/02/2019 10:09

And so it came to pass. They're all males, slugging it out amongst themselves, as males do the world over.

Yes, this.

As long as we can walk away with our rights intact, thats all I really care about. They can carry on fighting it out.

Having said that, I do feel for the transsexuals who just wanted to (and were able to generally) get on with their lives under the radar, who will now be caught up in all this.

Slow hand clap for Stonewall and Co.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 12/02/2019 10:09

You're obviously too nice hey Grin

My first thought was ' live by the sword, die by the sword' which isnt nice at all

Go me!!!

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 12/02/2019 10:11

Haha Rufus - I actually think I'm hormonal at the moment and during these weeks I cry at CBeebies so this probably has something to do with it Grin

How funny. 'People' autocorrected to 'prole'. My phone is clearly a member of the bourgeoisie.

andyoldlabour · 12/02/2019 10:29

"There is no conflict. People either disapprove of bullying or they do it themselves."

Life is not so simple, not black and white. Before the Iraq invasion, George W Bush infamously said - "You are either with us or against us"

The lawyer who must not be named is a former violent, male criminal, who has changed names several times, run several businesses into the gound and now specialises in harrassing innocent women who dare to challenge the new social contagion.

Should anyone have forgotten what TRA's do to women and get away with it, then this will be a reminder, as well as opening the eyes of those who are unaware.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/02/2019 10:40

Some things are simple - abuse of the 'die xxx scum' type is unacceptable. It sheds heat, not light. It's not productive, such behaviour hurts individuals but also damages serious debate.

You can be firmly against something, but not resort to insults and bullying tactics. Much better to do as GC feminists and their allies do, and stick to facts. Platforms such as twitter badly need to clean up their act and make correct distinctions between abuse and rational discussion.

Having said that, my word of the day might be schadenfreude.

littlbrowndog · 12/02/2019 10:41

Gawd there are some really really violent people out there

Imagine even writing that stuff and I recognise some names

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 12/02/2019 10:48

I know what you mean OP, although I can't personally bring myself to care about SH's hurt feelings. If this was a GC women getting this pile-on and threats from TRAs, SH would be enjoying it. The bully, who has been picking in all those who they thought were weaker, has now been spotted by the bigger bullies and are reaping what they sow. Ho hum.

Patriarchy in action, innit.

I am also interested to see what SH now does about KiwiFarms. SH has been intimidating women and their allies for many months with legal action, and SH's relative success has made them arrogant and feel they are untouchable. I hope they have met their match with KiwiFarms.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/02/2019 10:49

The only thing in favour of twitter not cleaning up its act is, it sure as heck lets you see what some people are. TRAs, MAGA types.

No, I can't imagine writing that sort of stuff, about anyone. This is a strength, not a weakness.

andyoldlabour · 12/02/2019 10:51

"Having said that, my word of the day might be schadenfreude."

That would kind of imply that there is a certain pleasure from seeing these remarks, whereas I see it as a kind of inevitability/karma.
I haven't witnessed really nasty remarks online towards TRA's from women, they have usually been factual or logic based on biology, which then of course results in a torrent of really vile abuse from the TRA's.
I can't remember seeing women organising an art exhibition, where they display weapons aimed at harming/murdering TRA's?

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 12/02/2019 10:55

Yep I agree Andy - I don't think I've ever seen a GC feminist on twitter abuse a TRA, however, there are many examples of the other way round.

I won't stoop to insults as I have facts and would never be deliberately mean or offensive to anyone anyway.

HeyDugeesCakeBadge It would be a shame if you deleted this thread. I’ve been shocked at the tweets directed at SH and have felt very conflicted. Then I remembered the nasty church visiting tweet and there was another about going camping where there was some women’s festival planned. I hope some of those who threw accusations of transphobia at women who simply wanted discussion and more thought about self ID beyond turning a women’s loo into a unisex one now realise what actual transphobia really is. But I can’t stop myself from feeling sorry for anyone getting that level of vitriol - although I fully know she contributed to the pile on culture by reporting people to the police. Reaping a whirlwind and all that....

OvaHere · 12/02/2019 10:59

I'm really not convinced they overly hurt by men being nasty, after all they know exactly what men can be like.

It pales into insignificance to the lack of validation from women. That's what makes them really angry and why we are always the top target, way above actual abusive and violent men.
