ReSisters groups in Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham, Cambridge, Cardiff and across the country were out making a point for women last night and did an amazing job. Please share your photos here!

If you give a clue to your location, someone may be able to PM you, or tell you who to PM. For obvious reasons access is somewhat obscured!

ChewyLouie · 29/01/2019 12:57

Thanks Errol, I’m in the South West and getting bored of constantly checking myself here to avoid deletions.

To those asking about a London group - we're in the early stages of setting up a west London group - see this thread:

I'll bump it up too on the board. If you're interested just PM me or thefirstmrsdewinter

www.thecomet.net/news/letchworth-and-harpeden-statues-campaign-1-5870335

Features a long, downright inaccurate (and possibly libellous?) statement and photo by a Letchworth resident ... one Jane Fae....

Qcng · 29/01/2019 13:07

Apparently the t-shirts are all over Brighton (where I'm from).
I've looked for any mention of it in The Brighton Argus, but nothing.... At all. Shame on them.

WonderWoman2019 · 29/01/2019 13:07

There's definitely a Cornish group because they began tweeting on Twitter last Friday. In case it helps they are CornwallReSisters@KernowReSisters

TinyRick · 29/01/2019 13:13

Are there any plans to go global?

Would join a chapter in my part of the world Smile

Olgatheoptimist · 29/01/2019 13:44

well done everyone who was involved.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/01/2019 13:53

It's grassroots... my local lot started as a bunch of people from here PMing, then added others they personally knew, discussed a name for the group and at some point contacted the original Liverpool ReSisters who helped design the local logo.

Lots of vague innuendo and aspersions being cast there.

The ending was good Smile

ErrolTheDragon · 29/01/2019 14:20

The last sentence? Ironically, yes. Grin

heresyandwitchcraft · 29/01/2019 14:34

Massive thank you to the ReSisters Flowers
Beautiful work.
And thanks to Standing for Women for the kit used in the action Flowers.

These are so wonderful. I'm searching my brain to try to think of any statues of women near me!

Please, though, can someone please tell me how they got the t-shirts on the statues when eg the hand is attached to something else? Did they have to cut the t-shirts and then sew them back on?! Shock

I'm a bit fixated on this. Someone please solve the mystery for me so I can enjoy this more.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/01/2019 14:53

I'm sure there were many solutions, but I'd imagine Velcro may have been used. Some of them will have needed quite a bit of prep and planning.

Oldstyle · 29/01/2019 15:03

ChewyLouie suggest you contact the wonderful 'Let a Woman Speak' - they are in Plymouth but are in the loop re who's who in that neck of the woods.

Sonic - yes, I've been wondering about that Grin I'd guess a pair of scissors and some safety pins would do it. It's pretty safe to assume that lots of the t-shirts would be removed quickly, so they'd only really need a temporary process for the statues' photo opps Grin

OrchidInTheSun · 29/01/2019 16:13

We didn't take scissors with us or use safety pins Wink

concretesieve · 29/01/2019 16:18

Orchid - Please tell!! Smile

TheChampagneGalop · 29/01/2019 17:28

Epic.

OrchidInTheSun · 29/01/2019 17:45

Velcro and cable ties were used in the main - its all in the prep Wink

terryleather · 29/01/2019 17:53

Orchid is correct, safety pins etc a no no but cut-up-the-sides-T-shirt-and- Velcro combo prepped in advance would be the way to go....I'd imagine Wink

WeRiseUp · 29/01/2019 18:11

Brilliant, resourceful women!

RedemptiveCrocodile · 29/01/2019 19:28

I'm still betting on witchcraft.

Quite funny that Pink News is calling this vandalism and defacement.

Here's what transactivists did to statues commemorating the gay liberation movement in Christopher Park near the old Stonewall Inn in NYC:
