This whole hate speech/incident law is completely out of control. This is sinister.

Fishywishyhead

I'm not surprised, really. Anyone who genuinely believes a female brain can grow a male body, like some kind of sci fi movie, is as gullible as they get.

Ereshkigal · 25/01/2019 10:07

It is like Jess's ATH - concerned with changing laws..... and prisons.

YY.

Datun · 25/01/2019 10:08

And the complainant will be in the Humber side region which is why that force is responding.

They are quoted as saying the complainant comes from 'down south'.

Ereshkigal · 25/01/2019 10:08

And the complainant will be in the Humber side region which is why that force is responding.

Apparently the complainant is from the South.

"So who is Gina Denham and what gives this individual so much power that a school changes its whole policy to cater to the demands of just one pupil?

The schools presentation shown at the start of this post is part of Denham’s Transitioning for Beginners project which sells to children the idea that ‘changing your gender’ can be “fun but daunting!”

"As well as the book and the presentation there is a video series in which we learn about the presumably ‘daunting’ bit. Denham explains the dilation procedures necessary after vaginoplasty surgery, in order to prevent what is essentially an open wound from closing up, including a display of the dildos necessary for this task. Denham tells us that dilation must continue for life, although the three-times-a-day schedule eases off gradually over the first year, after which once a week is enough."

What the hell is going on in the world?

Ereshkigal · 25/01/2019 10:09

I think it was a reasonably proportionate response to a report, following national guidance on such issues.

That would be the guidance written by Stonewall and apparently signed off without challenge.

Iggi999 · 25/01/2019 10:09

This cannot have actually happened

JSmitty · 25/01/2019 10:13

"The only way to protect freedom of speech is to keep bloody speaking," he added.

Quick! Copywrite it.

T-Shirt!!!!

I'm listening to Lily Ebert on Woman's Hour talk describe her experience of the Holocaust, how she survived Auschwitz as a girl, her ongoing work speaking in schools and why this is important.

Her daughter and granddaughter are also being interviewed about Lily's influence on them.

Its incredibly powerful.

I don't think the Telegraph would have gone to print without confirmation. Their interview includes mention of an interview with PC Gul, extraordinarily enough.

andyoldlabour · 25/01/2019 10:20

I take it we can presume that Humberside thought police, have contacted the original (bad) poet, plus all Twitterers who retweeted, plus the Spectator for publishing a (very good) article about this?
I am not going to sleep at nights, if I cannot trust our good plod to keep us safe from thinking and poetry and all things hateful and corrupt.

Floisme · 25/01/2019 10:20

I hope the good PC has no connection with Dr Gull, from The Four Marys. She will be turning in her grave at this nonsense.

They're talking all kinds of shite on these training courses and people are not only believing it, it's influencing action which can seriously affect others.

andyoldlabour · 25/01/2019 10:27

"This cannot have actually happened"

Which is exactly what I thought when I first read about Rachel McKinnon back in October last year.

From the BBC Victoria Derbyshire program in July (linked previously):

first segment,

Anna Robinson 'one of the first trans police officer in UK' in a workshop on Hate Crime for parents at Mermaids camp:

(after a show of hands of who has been or knows someone subjected to Hate Crime)
Anna Robinson "So obviously Hate Crime has had an impact on the room, upon everyone here'

  • Victoria Derbyshire "Is Hate Crime towards trans chldren and adults on the rise?"
Anna Robinson "Absolutely we have seen like an epidemic almost of Hate Crime being reported.. more and more people reporting, more and more having the courage to report. This is their daily life and they are being targetted just for living their life"

Welcome to our world.

GerryblewuptheER · 25/01/2019 10:33

When I was looking at how to get into the police force for dd1, it required a degree. And a levels and gcses.

How do you do all that they not know that sperm meets egg. Egg fertilizes. Egg starts dividing. Then the resulting cells all start developing into parts of the body. The brain cells come from.exactly the same place as the cells that make the bones and the hair etc each cell will carry the same sex information. In order for a female brain to grow it would have to be grown separately and implanted. Except you can't do a brain transplant it would kill you.

So where does the different brain come from.

JSmitty · 25/01/2019 10:37

"Brain Sex" is disputed.

What is certain is that unlike skeletons, you cannot sex a brain or even a skull by looking at it.

If there is such a thing, it is the product of endocrinal exposure over a lifetime.

Meanwhile, it is coming up 40 years since the Law Lords judgement on another rubbish poem Mary Whtehouse found offensive.

R0wantrees · 25/01/2019 10:41

Our usual useful source of information are all over Gina Denham

Andy speak for yourself!

KiwiFarms are not 'the usual source of information' for the vast majority of us.

Bittermints · 25/01/2019 10:42

I've come to the conclusion that many people with good paper qualifications are actually just pretty skilled at memorising things for short periods to get through exams, or can churn out a passable essay parroting what they know the markers want to see. They apply no critical thought to what they study at all.

Meanwhile, they accept totally uncritically whatever unevidenced or even frankly incredible stuff they have to believe in to belong to a social group that matters to them, e.g. church, political party, activist group, friendship group, the woke.

This is the only way I can make sense of the reported cases of people with degrees in hard sciences or engineering who are also evolution-denying creationists or anti-vaxxers and biologists and doctors who believe in gendered souls.

GerryblewuptheER · 25/01/2019 10:42

I find it very ironic that no one goes to see a window cleaner if they are sick. No one asked a plumber to fix their car. You wouldn't be taught to drive by someone who specialises is computer software. Police even work with ex criminals to be able to advise people on how to keep your home secure etc

Yet they will listen to people who's only qualification is they are trans or work with/know well someone who is trans and take the unproven scientific explanations at face value when the last time they saw a Bunsen burner was in high school clearky or they'd not be showing up armed with a Barbie doll and some jelly babies

Datun · 25/01/2019 10:44

Denham has written a book called Transitioning for Beginners.

What the fuck does that mean?

Gender dysphoria is something that needs to be diagnosed by medical expert. Not a fun narrative by a late transitioner.

Do we have anorexia for novices? Or schizophrenia for learners? And then give them to people who we think might be anorexic or schizophrenic?

Gender shift closed but the founder is still on the circuit.

"KiwiFarms are not 'the usual source of information' for the vast majority of us."

TBF literally no-one else would touch this. These people LARP their shit through multiple branches of the public sector and it's all accepted without judgement.
