Hasn't long started: guess we'll have to wait and see how it comes out...

Aren’t there more trans people convicted of murder than there have been trans murder victims in the past 10 years? So it would be an interesting avenue. But the woketopia that is the BBC would never allow that storyline.

PositivelyPERF · 09/01/2019 18:42

Yes NewYearsNiamh, that is an actual FACT, unlike the threats from feminists. When do you reckon a fictional program, or indeed a documentary, will ever use the line, ‘some who people identify as trans, have AGP or use access to female area for nefarious reasons’? I’d say my youngest will be my age before that happens.

BitOfFun · 09/01/2019 19:13

It wasn't a detective with the gender/sexuality soundbite though: it was the AGP guy trying to "educate" his wife.

Kemer2018 · 09/01/2019 19:21

Well, it is the BBC.
Opiate of the masses etc.
Not surprisingly, Stacey Dooley weird sex all over the world lean heavily in favour of painting transgender prostitutes as poor hard done by.
To each they're own. But they've chosen that way of life.
I don't want a so-called neutral broadcaster trying to subliminally brainwash the masses into thinking trans is normal, because it really isn't.
I'm sick of seeing it and it ruins TV (which is a bit shit anyway).

NewYearsNiamh · 09/01/2019 19:41

Agree PERF loooooong time coming.

AspieAndProud · 09/01/2019 19:47

Gender is what you go to bed as

Is ‘knackered’ a gender now? I just can’t keep up.

I'd guess the Beeb won't be screening Silence of the Lambs any time soon.

BitOfFun · 09/01/2019 20:06

Aspie Grin

A gender is whatever you think is a gender! There are as many genders as there are people in the world HmmGrin

Just had to interject here. No, I do not agree with that. All sex-workers are vulnerable to exploitation and horrific violence. Trans prostitutes are as much victims as any other form of prostitute and to say they have 'chosen that way of life' ignores many of the factors that pressure people into sex-work. It is sex-work that leads to a high murder rate of trans people in some countries. Not because the general public goes around being violent to trans people, but because the scumbags who use prostitutes sometimes subject them to the most horrendous abuse and sometimes kill them. Saying it is a choice is the lib-fem response to prostitution and it doesn't help anyone.

GraceMarks · 09/01/2019 21:42

I think the second part is... a bit better? The actual prodecural stuff is still utter bs (pathologists don't take part in searches for missing persons) but the trans stuff isn't quite so much like a Stonewall training video this time.

GraceMarks · 09/01/2019 21:50

Oh. Spoke too soon. It was an evil, narrow-minded woman all along. Order has been restored to the BBC agenda!

PositivelyPERF · 09/01/2019 21:58

Well I really didn’t see that coming. I’m sure they were itching to use the word feminist, but I dare say it was implied. 🙄

Ohhh That’s such a transphobic film. I’m surprised it hasn’t been banned. 😁

PenguinRoar · 09/01/2019 22:04

Are we all wheat now? Hmm

ADropofReality · 09/01/2019 22:13

Just imagine if Witless Silence has portrayed a transwoman (let's face it, transmen don't get a look in) who had so much as had a defective rear light, let alone murdering. The TRAs would have swooped down and cried that this was demonisation of a vulnerable trans person; how dare they portray transwomen as anything but perfect angels.

But it's fine to portray anyone else as everything else.

drspouse · 09/01/2019 22:16

I always call it Witless Silence
I heard a vv well known forensic scientist speak and she called it Silent Witless.

BitOfFun · 09/01/2019 22:42

I'm watching this n catch up now, and I've got the subtitles on- the scene with Murray in prison is captioned Hmm

Also, there's just been a nice teaching point on the sexual ambiguity of wheat flowers 🤣🙄

Emilia Fox looking soulful

Emilia Fox is my pin-up, but nobody does soulful gazing like Amanda Burton used to....

BitOfFun · 09/01/2019 22:52

I'm also loving how somebody is still paying the electric bill in the old abandoned warehouse.

Melroses · 09/01/2019 23:03

Yes that always intrigues me. The leccy is always on. Except in Scandi noir where they need a torch all the time.

I used to work for an electricity company billing commercial properties. They almost never get cut off. Someone is getting billed but I don’t think anyone really checks it’s paid.

waxy1 · 09/01/2019 23:13

The lift still worked in a derelict factory, even though lifts get isolated early in any rundown because they need so much maintenance and elf’nsafety.

Neither the local rodents, nor the birds, nor the roaches had eaten the spilt wheat off the factory floor.

littlbrowndog · 09/01/2019 23:19

Was there vomit ?
I never watched in case of vomit flooding again
