KF has a reputation - is it deserved? I dunno. I haven’t been much outside the threads I find relevant (basically the ones on some of the people I have concerns about) but tbh I’m not finding much to confirm that reputation. There are a range of views, I’m sure there are a number of women haters on there but I’m not seeing it as a pervasive issue.

But why do the KF posters seem to assume we're all man-hating lesbians?

Two points:

(1) individual posters' comments / opinions do not represent KF any more than individual posters' comments / opinions represent MN.

(2) KF takes the piss out of everyone, including Null, the site owner.

If you are at all sensitive, it's not a good place to visit. But if you are like me and have a thick skin (I'm autistic and learnt long ago not to give a rodent's rectum) KF can be informative and entertaining.

I've been won over by that KF thread too.

I like their idea of highlighting the increasing influx of Minor-Attracted Person (MAP) profiles on social media platforms, specifically Twitter. That's a public interest investigation which any good journalist could pursue without ever having to name names, but it would help raise awareness of the predatory behaviour we've witnessed.

It is bitchy, but so is MN sometimes. I don’t really care about that. I dont get offended if someone calls me an arsehole, or disagrees with me.

Actually the biggest difference for me is the powerlevel thing - people go on, say their piece and provide their information without going on or persecuting other posters. It’s quite refreshing, and it stops derailing.

I'm the kind of person who used to find the Encyclopedia Drammatica articles about subcultures I'm directly involved in hilarious, so I'm a bit baffled by how shocking some people find Kiwi Farms. As long as there's been an internet there have been sites devoted to mocking ridiculous behavior on the internet, none of this is new.

Like someone said, they're not saying anything other people aren't thinking. It beats the hell out of nobody being allowed to say what they think at all.

KF posted that image PainInTheEar but they reckoned (from the dates) it was one that Yaniv picked up from elsewhere.ie not his copyright.

I managed to get on it (using sky broadband) late last night but can't access it again this morning. I only got as far as page 3 (of 112!) so hoping I can continue reading later on.

I just read the whole kwiw farm thread. I went in armed with the urban dictionary. I nearly got distracted by the reason it's called "kwiw farms"; some long winded thing about this strange mash up between Pikachu and Sonic. Disturbing.

I was struck by the wisdom of some of the posters. Consistently, when confronted with the predator's disgraceful questions, the young women concerned are just "lolling" uncomfortably. We need to teach our daughters to see this shit for what it is.
