I just went to MM's twitter to see what reaction she'd had about this.

  1. She doesn't seem to have posted anything about the topic? (haven't clicked into any unrelated tweet comments though)
  1. The amount of breathtakingly inconsistent and contradictory positions she holds is enough to put her in the top ten mental gymnasts worldwide.
EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 04/01/2019 09:48

Does that include learning to operate on children without moral and ethical oversight?

Probably.

ProfessoressWoland · 04/01/2019 11:24

The Action for Trans Health manifesto included their being able to learn to operate on each other.

The one that demands medical training for trans people (why can't they take the med school route)?
Why not campaign for solutions to actual problems, like the lack of third spaces for those who feel unable to use appropriate single-sex provision.

TimeLady · 04/01/2019 11:55

Perhaps they could start providing laser hair removal services within their own community?

Y'know, do something constructive.

indieshuffle · 04/01/2019 11:55

There is absolutely nothing that prevents a person with gender dypshoria (a mental illness) from also having any number of other conditions and being any number of other things, including being a threat to women and children. In fact co-morbidity with other MH conditions and personality disorder is common. As stated, the increased risk starts from being born male.

When the Karen Jones prison cases were current this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3373901-Gender-folly-in-womens-jails-Sunday-Times-Jeremy-Coid-Emeritus-professor-of-forensic-psychiatry-Queen-Mary-University-of-London#prettyPhoto was started in response to a letter to The Sunday Times by Professor Jeremy Coid, a forensic psychiatrist whose speciality unit researches "risk management in forensic mental health, the enhancement of the treatment of personality disorders, and the prevention of violent behaviour".

Professor Coid wrote that assaults on women by male transgender prisoners were the "entirely predictable consequences of transferring male prisoners with intact genitalia who claim a female identity to women's jails" and that "uncertain sexual identity is a key risk factor in a man with a history of sexual assaults."

And we know that not all men with a history of sexual assault will be convicted or even known to the police, but yet they are out there still, 2 and 2 not yet officially making 4.

JY is clearly has some sort of disorder and exhibits worrying behaviour. We already do know enough to be rightly concerned, except that that some transgender ideology now attempts to reframe these behaviours as innocuous, and make us believe that 2 and 2 is 5.

Datun · 04/01/2019 12:30

Professor Coid wrote that assaults on women by male transgender prisoners were the "entirely predictable consequences of transferring male prisoners with intact genitalia who claim a female identity to women's jails"

Well quite. It's brainwashing that makes people not instantly grasp this.

and that "uncertain sexual identity is a key risk factor in a man with a history of sexual assaults."

Well that's interesting. Is there a study?

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 04/01/2019 12:48

This man is grooming children and is a paedophile. Why don't the Canadian authorities take action.

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 04/01/2019 13:38

This man is grooming children and is a paedophile. Why don't the Canadian authorities take action.

Is he doing anything illegal? As pp said, much of his behaviour is creepy, but illegal?

There is nothing to stop a grown adult male with an interest in menstruating girls to take selfies of themselves in public toilets with girls.

AngryAttackKittens · 04/01/2019 13:49

That's rather the point, isn't it? Thanks to the campaigning work of trans activists, it is now perfect legal for Yaniv to take his fetish for adolescent girls menstruating into women's public toilets.

The question is whether the general public are really OK with that. I don't believe that they are.

GrinitchSpinach · 04/01/2019 14:23

Is he doing anything illegal?

This thread is getting unwieldy at 20 pages, but I believe it was mentioned upstream that one of the young girls Yaniv was bothering online said he sent her photos that upset her. She doesn't write explicitly about their content but it seems clear it was dick pics or porn. Original post is on Kiwi Farms. Secondly, (evidence also on KF) he seems to have asked one of these young girls to meet him at his hotel and bring sanpro. I don't know Canadian law, but luring/enticing a minor is a crime in many jurisdictions.

Again IANAL but I would not be surprised if the authorities deemed the messages he sent to young girls probable cause for a warrant for his hard drives...If any authorities have a break in their busy schedule pursuing women for tweeting-while-female, that is.

merrymouse · 04/01/2019 14:29

There is nothing to stop a grown adult male with an interest in menstruating girls to take selfies of themselves in public toilets with girls.

There are laws about voyeurism and grooming.

merrymouse · 04/01/2019 14:33

But part of the problem is that it is very difficult to prosecute somebody for these kinds of crimes.

That is why we have the concept of 'safeguarding' and why women should be able to enforce boundaries such as "No, I do not wax male genitals".

merrymouse · 04/01/2019 14:34

And in particular "No, I do not wax the genitals of strange males in my home with no third party present".

indieshuffle · 04/01/2019 15:19

Datun I am sure there are plenty studies that he is drawing from. I haven't currently got academic access so can't read much of what is out there though.

From the titles and abstracts, I think that a lot of his papers are hugely informative. eg "Are male perpetrators of intimate partner violence different from convicted violent offenders? Examination of psychopathic traits and life success in males from a community survey."
By Delphine Theobald, David P. Farrington, Jeremy W. Coid, and Alex R. Piquero.
Journal of Interpersonal Violence. Vol. 31, No. 9, (May, 2016), pp. 1687-1718.

The abstract of which says (to paraphrase) that the differences between these violent men "appear to be more in degree than in kind". Obviously the full text is needed though.

I read another paper quickly and found it to be reassuringly nuanced and balancing, unlike some other papers. This stuff is complex.

Datun · 04/01/2019 17:52

Again IANAL but I would not be surprised if the authorities deemed the messages he sent to young girls probable cause for a warrant for his hard drives..

Yes, this. If he is sailing close to the wind in terms of doing something that is demonstrably illegal, he certainly isn't in terms of looking like he needs investigation.

Thanks indieshuffle. I agree that it's complicated and studies/research is vital. Unfortunately, it's probably all deemed transphobic now.

GrinitchSpinach · 04/01/2019 21:43

Yaniv has really picked a fight with Null of Kiwi Farms. Null says today he is consulting with lawyers and considering crowdfunding some kind of effort. Watch this space...

(Amusing commentary from some KF posters about possible support from "the angry grandma lesbian brigade." Think that's us, ladies! And if anyone was looking for a new username...)

LangCleg · 04/01/2019 22:14

"the angry grandma lesbian brigade."

LOL. Tell them I'm from the saggy-titted shock squad.

AngryAttackKittens · 04/01/2019 22:31

I'm from the bisexual auxiliary force!

(Sadly there don't seem to be many of us, as a lot of women who're bi seem to be on team "lesbians could learn to love dick if they just tried harder".)

GrinitchSpinach · 04/01/2019 22:35

saggy-titted shock squad

I love it! Grin

VaginalAcoustic1212 · 04/01/2019 22:52

AAK, another member of the BAF here.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 05/01/2019 09:37

I would donate to a KF crowdfunder to take on Yaniv.

TimeLady · 05/01/2019 10:20

I'm an angry grandma and I'm in for the crowdfunder too.

But why do the KF posters seem to assume we're all man-hating lesbians?

LangCleg · 05/01/2019 10:35

But why do the KF posters seem to assume we're all man-hating lesbians?

Because men can't conceive of normal, well-adjusted women who don't give a shit what they think! It's an affliction of the sex overall, regardless of identification.

QuietContraryMary · 05/01/2019 10:43

"But why do the KF posters seem to assume we're all man-hating lesbians?"

I think it's somewhat facetious.

Bowlofbabelfish · 05/01/2019 11:03

But why do the KF posters seem to assume we're all man-hating lesbians?

I don’t think they do, overall. They’re generally supportive of Meghan Murphy - maybe more for the free speech angle? people who try to shut down free speech aren’t popular on KF.
On the yaniv thread there’s a few posts outlining the differences between liberal and radical feminism and replies to the effect of ‘that seems sensible how did the liberal stuff become mainstream and the radical stuff so opposed.’

I think the tone is more amusement that actually their mums were right.Grin

I’ve been lurking on KF the past week and, at least in the yaniv thread, I don’t think they’re saying anything we aren’t thinking.

KF has a reputation - is it deserved? I dunno. I haven’t been much outside the threads I find relevant (basically the ones on some of the people I have concerns about) but tbh I’m not finding much to confirm that reputation. There are a range of views, I’m sure there are a number of women haters on there but I’m not seeing it as a pervasive issue.

What they clearly are is more tech savvy, very sceptical and very good at digging up and archiving information.

Null has also offered to host miranda’s Blog if it’s shut down.
