Glinner’s Xmas Break

I just watched Graham’s video tonight where he says he’s taking a break from Twitter over Xmas and I realised that a) we are going to miss him hugely and b) he must be in need of some headspace. The guy is a fucking legend and has taken on this fight to much cost to his reputation, not to mention personal life. I feel such love for the man because he is the ONLY ‘celebrity’ who’s vocal on Twitter who seems to feel as aggrieved and as passionate as I do! It breaks my heart that it might be getting too much for him because if he bowed out I’d feel like they’d won.

Graham, I hope you have a peaceful break over Xmas because if anyone deserves some down time it’s you you bloody ledge.

Thank you so much for all that you do.

❤️

Don't they realise mumsnet is an open forum?

Anyone can post here. Lots of men and transwomen already do.

As it goes, I've followed Technically Ron for years - he's v funny. But he's got this one wrong. He clearly believes something along the lines of "this is like the fight gay people had in the 80s" - but he is so, so wrong. Gay people in the 80s weren't calling for children to be medicalised to such an extent that they may be left infertile and without sexual function/feeling. Puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones can do this - and Mermaids is campaigning to lower the age that these can be prescribed. Even surgery. Susie Green is on record (tweets) saying children should be able to elect to have surgery. It's despicable.

Bowlofbabelfish · 18/12/2018 20:25

Gay people in the 80s wanted rights that took them to a level playing field. None of what they were asking for removed rights or safety from any other group. It’s not comparable

Ok I've got a very bad cold and I'm medicating with whiskey.
But surely lesbians don't do penis.

Or should I be singing E I E I E I O OFF TO THE GULAG I WILL GO

@Glinner I said it on twitter, but will say it here too - thank you so much for all you do, and have a restful, merry Christmas!

AugustL · 20/12/2018 05:26

Merry Christmas Glinner, and thank you

HelenaDove · 24/12/2018 01:54

Father Ted is trending on Twitter so i clicked on the hashtag and most of it is Father Ted fans having a bit of a laugh and tweeting quotes. The Christmas special was on tonight and Channel 4 has also stacked some of the best episodes.

But some are using it as a chance to call Glinner all sorts of untrue names and call him a bigot. Which he isnt.

Why the fuck cant they stop for just five minutes. Father Ted is genius and its right up there with classics like Porridge.

The priests in the larnj-jer-ray dept is priceless. I always have Father Ted's voice in my head when I see a shop full of underwear Grin

ScipioAfricanus · 24/12/2018 19:13

Today the vicar at the crib service said the cow in the nativity scene was too small compared with Mary and it was ‘far away’.

So grateful for Father Ted. I hope Glinner has a good Christmas.

With the Martina Navratilova hooha on Twitter I think a huge chunk of people peak transed over the last few days. The Mermaids thing has died down on Twitter and I’m delighted to see Peep Show’s Jez (Robert Webb) nailing his colours to the gender critical mast. Merry Xmas Graham, you are a wonderful man to put yourself out like this. Thank you from women everywhere! 😘

Yes @tarziew I am watching on More4+1 and reliving its majesty. I can't remember a tv show that was ever this funny, so thanks @Glinner
