God. Academia is fucked. That person’s PhD is basically in themselves. Why everyone should be nicer to them and stop being so mean and denying material reality.

What on earth is going on?

So many of these gender projects seem to be about creating a transgravy train- be it in academia, charities or public services.

That academic profile is so poorly written it made my eyes water and my brain bleed.

It's a shame they couldn't get an actual female sports woman on to join the debate, or a knowledgeable female coach. I hope it's not because no one dares put their head above the parapet. I feel we haven't yet seen much impact on sports in the UK (notwithstanding questionable new policies from amateur organisations). All the outrageous cases I have seen in the news have been from USA or Australia and NZ.

Lauren Jeska is the only one I can think of Although they were under the radar before they decided to stab Ralph Knibbs.

Hope he is doing ok. His story, reported in the Guardian as brave & stunning Lauren’s story, is what peaked transed me.

That report is one of the most appalling things I've ever seen in the Guardian. And that's a high bar.

I find this really hard to get my head around. I look at the pictures of Hannah Mouncey playing in the women’s game and it is blatantly unfair - how can anyone argue that it isn’t. It is comparing this picture to the arguments about testosterone etc etc and that transwomen don’t have an advantage that causes my brain to shut down as it is patently absurd. It would have to be outstanding and incontrovertible evidence for me to not believe my own eyes. Gaslighting on an apic scale.

I agree with her premise that being trans be a barrier to participating in sport.
Lots of young trans people I work with would greatly benefit from participating in sport. Sport provides structured opportunities to socialise for those with ASD and exercise is an effective intervention for low mood etc.
I think that there are lots of opportunities to run mixed sex training and mixed sex recreational tournaments in a number of sports and I think this is the way forward.
I am firmly against eradicating single sex sport through the inclusion of people according to gender identity.
I expect Beth will create a straw man- either include trans people in sports according to their id or deny them the benefits of engaging in sport.
