I'm surprised that so many years have passed. 2018?

Bloody hell!!

FFSBringbackLangCleg · 15/04/2022 12:34

Yes, bring Posie back.

Incidentally, I’ve NEVER heard her say anything I disagreed with.

She’s just the straightest talker we’ve got.

Also, see my username.

UseOfWeapons · 15/04/2022 12:42

Agreed

NotMeekNotObedient · 15/04/2022 12:51

Agreed!

zafferana · 15/04/2022 12:52

Agreed. Bring Posie back! GC views are protected under UK law.

AgnesNaismith · 15/04/2022 12:53

Does she actually want to come back?

JoodyBlue · 15/04/2022 12:55

I actually doubt she would return. The various bannings have been calalysts for Posie honing her own unique voice and putting it out there. I have total respect for the way she stands for truth as she sees it. I have met many people who are unable to tell lies through what we might terrm neurodiversity. I think the refusal to state falsehood as you see it is an asset which should lead to better mutual understanding, with people being able to use their words to explain themselves and people being able to agree to disagree with mutual respect. The key here is having a reasonably common consensus as to what words mean. That is Posie's whole campaign.

Floisme · 15/04/2022 12:59

I don't think she'd want to come back either. In fact I'd argue that getting kicked off here and from Twitter has been the making of her.

mirax · 15/04/2022 14:16

agree!

Hawkins001 · 15/04/2022 14:20

What's the full context in which the ban happen ?

BordoisAgain · 15/04/2022 14:24

LangCleg was banned because the point she was making was misunderstood. Despite being proven correct numerous times over she still remains banned Sad

beastlyslumber · 15/04/2022 14:32

Yep, Posie should be unbanned. Doubt she'd want to come back but definitely should be allowed. LangCleg too.

Robinsnest2 · 15/04/2022 14:46

Imagine what could have been achieved if you'd all taken a leaf out of Kellie-Jay's book instead of slapping each other on the back in this echo chamber day in and day out.
Giggorata · 15/04/2022 14:48

Yes, unban all the strong outspoken women.
Mumsnet should be a place that supports and strengthens the Woman's voice.

Floisme · 15/04/2022 14:48

If Posie was back on here, she'd have to be like the rest of us: obfuscating, avoiding certain words, checking what she'd written before posting. I think she's much more effective out there doing what she does.

SweetPetrichor · 15/04/2022 14:52

Poise does not speak for all women. She does not speak for me. MNHQ should not allow themselves to be bullied into overturning a ban.

Crimesean · 15/04/2022 14:55

I dunno actually - this is a business, responsible for a lot of people's livelihoods, and it's owned by Justine et al, it's not some kind of online commune. Posie was told again and again and again what the rules are, and decided not to abide by them. It's like me coming round your house, being told politely what your house rules are, and then deliberately ignoring them. It's rude and unnecessary.

I think MN can't please everyone - they're trying really hard to allow spirited and robust debate, whilst maintaining a business and, importantly, trying not to get sued. Getting sued is stressful, expensive and time-consuming. Getting criticised by both sides is, as @MNHQ have pointed out, morale-sapping and exhausting. They're trying to be fair and balanced, and nothing they do is ever good enough for some of you.

I don't know which posts/patterns of behaviour were responsible for Posie & Lang getting banned, and nor do any of you. MNing isn't compulsory - if you don't like it here, you can leave. But I really hope you stay. It's (for the most part) a fantastic place where women support each other and can talk freely about our rights (and threats to those rights). MNers over the years have saved me from suicide, supported me through years of infertility and miscarriages, and made me laugh and cry more times than I can count. It's where I learned that I'm a rights-hoarding dinosaur, a TERF, and a complete slob for not washing my bed linen twice a day. Is it perfect? No. But then none of us are, either.

TinselAngel · 15/04/2022 14:58

That's not true, those of us who know Lang elsewhere know exactly why she was banned. I'd imagine the same is true for Posie.

SamphirethePogoingStickerist · 15/04/2022 15:00

Truth is Kelly Jay outgrew MN years ago. She has the wherewithal to do much more than remain on an anonymous forum. Like JKR she is using her own situation to do as she pleases.

We can agree or disagree, buy she is doing it. And she is making many people think twice.

For that alone she has my support.

Posie has the courage to speak up for women. We should all celebrate that, not ban her.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 15/04/2022 15:17

You clearly know nothing of what women here do in their everyday lives, Robinsnest2. Did you realise we are three-dimensional human beings with lives beyond the internet?

The debates and information I read on these boards have led me to take more actions mainly feminist plus a few for other campaigns than any other source.

ItoldyouIwastrouble · 15/04/2022 15:21

agreed

SamphirethePogoingStickerist · 15/04/2022 15:57

Ah yes! Those of us who do nothing but moan here.

Odd as some posters are women with ongoing court cases, some with professional input, counsellors, support workers, refuge and crisis centre workers, campaigners, stickerists, dinosaurs and more. All sorts of real life jobs that are aimed at supporting women.

But not all of us have the financial security to be able to say what we think out loud. We cannot afford to lose our jobs, chances of promotion, the goodwill of colleagues and bosses who have bought into gender ideology.

Nor can we see how we could withstand the knock on the door, arrest, prolonged questioning that so many other women have experienced for the simple act of being identified as a woman who disagrees with gender ideology.

So Birdy dear. Stay deleted. Switch your brain in and wonder why so many here are sniggering at your daftness 🙃

DoubleTweenQueen · 15/04/2022 16:22

Agreed. She's a wonderful strong woman and mother, and I want to hear what she has to say.
