Distinct not district!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 27/09/2018 15:54

Eagleitarian - cis doesn't just mean not trans, it means you identify with your gender.
Which I don't, I identify as a human. I am still a biological woman though.

IdahoJones · 27/09/2018 15:55

Please read the forum rules, Eagle

Movablefeast · 27/09/2018 15:55

Cis is bullshit and woke bollocks, every woman on here is "gender non-conforming" yet instead we get called cis as if we are privileged oppressors. Don't buy into this ridiculous twisting of reality.

NotANotMan · 27/09/2018 15:57

Cis is a meaningless and unnecessary prefix.

Transwomen aren't women, they are transwomen. Only men can be transwomen. Women are women.
Cis means 'identifies with gender stereotypes of femininity' and most women don't do that.

LangCleg · 27/09/2018 16:01

Eagle - don't cis me, it's reductive and offensive.

MNHQ - as PPs have pointed out, Posie has been subject to coercive control by TRAs all over the internet, including here. Her refusing to comply is the reason is not a reason to ban her, especially when much more aggressive behaviour and vocabulary is seen all over AIBU every day.

You are the patsies for Duluth wheel abusers. Be better. Invite her back. She won't come but you should invite her.

BonjourMinou · 27/09/2018 16:07

Yes please, bring her back!

stealthsquirrelnutkin · 27/09/2018 16:28

You are the patsies for Duluth wheel abusers. Be better. Invite her back. She won't come but you should invite her.

This is glaringly obvious, and could have been avoided if you would only educate yourselves. www.freedomprogramme.co.uk

Bolloxio · 27/09/2018 17:04

I don't know much about Posies ban. However I was here for maryz ban, and it was a ridiculous situation, and ever since then , its been made out she was abusive to mods. Unless she was secretly sending abuse behind the scenes, thats bullshit. What she said on the thread was that it was ridiculous for mods to be deleting posts, then reinstating them and pretending that they never deleted them to start with. and it WAS ridiculous.

I think its absolutely ridiculous to be banning posters based on TAR reports, when said TRAs come here solely to get a rise, so they can report people.

zippey · 27/09/2018 17:58

I think you are wrong on this one MNHQ, you should be doing all you can to apologise and re evaluate your decision to ban her.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 27/09/2018 18:15

I’ve always liked this speech, since finding a battered copy in my late Father’s diary. He had attributed it to Mrs Pankhurst, but google suggests it was American feminists in Nebraska.

^We will have what men have, It may not be much, but we will have it. If we cannot have it without friction, we will have it with.
If we cannot have it throughout organizations, we will have it through our combinations if necessary.^

We refuse to be poked in the gallery any more, but insist on being placed on the floor of the house. That drunken loafer in the gallery says, "Down with the petticoats." I say "Up with the petticoats and down with the pants." Then things will be seen in their true light. We must get together. As long as we women are split up as we are, the men will always be on top.

Up with Posie.

LangCleg wrote: don't cis me

Agreed. And is it bad that when I read that I heard it to the tune of Don't touch me ? Blush

Hyppolyta · 27/09/2018 18:44

So an amazing woman and spokeswoman for women like Posie is banned.

But the same old posters are allowed to continually spout the same offensive bullshit that males can be women?

Really MNHQ?

Why are you allowing posters to keep attacking women in this way, and banning women like Posie who defend us?

ToeToToe · 27/09/2018 19:22

Nice one Al1ce Smile

Up with Posie. Up wth women.

I was also there for maryz's ban, and it was ridiculous. She was not abusive to mods. She just wouldn't shut up when they told her to, and what MNetter worth her salt does? Wink

MistOnTheWater · 27/09/2018 19:24

Posie should be invited back
Maryz should be invited back
TheBewilderness should be invited back

Though I completely understand if they don't want to come back here.

tobee · 27/09/2018 19:25

I bet they don't unban her though.

MistOnTheWater · 27/09/2018 19:26

Bet they don't tobee

ToeToToe · 27/09/2018 20:49

Bewilderness too Shock

I thought I hadn't seen her around.

@MNHQ you have banned good women. The best women. Because men don't like what they say.

peepholepringle · 27/09/2018 21:03

countess I disagree, but that's fine we can't all agree on everything.
I don't think for one second that every poster on this board wouldn't be thrown under the bus if needed. I completely understand the business model here and the need to keep advertisers happy but as soon as Mumsnet invited prominent TRAs to start reporting posts on this site via twitter they showed who's voice they'll really listen to when it comes down to it.
The banning of some offensive terms was definitely welcomed by both sides but when you are not allowed to state biological facts for fear of a ban we can't surely think that Mumsnet are here behind us?
As I said, we disagree on this but I completely respect your point of view.

Destinysdaughter · 27/09/2018 21:09

Bit late to this thread but please do unban Posie, she is magnificent, clear headed and fearless. A true shero!

Bienchen · 27/09/2018 21:15

Continuing with the ban will be entirely Posie's gain and Mumsnet's loss. You can sit on that fence and try to "balance" but at some stage you have to take a stand. Get a grip, MNHQ.

AyeRobot · 27/09/2018 21:32

I still can't get my head around the twitter reporting thing. What on earth was that all about?

AnyFucker · 27/09/2018 21:38

I am a bit flummoxed by that too, Aye

I hope Justine et al look back at that episode and think "what the fuck did we do that for ?"

A true wtf moment, for sure

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 27/09/2018 21:45

Tshirt bought.

And adding my voice to the masses in favour of MNHQ reconsidering

WrongOnTInternet · 27/09/2018 22:06

Why was Bewilderness banned?
