I see the crowd funding thread has been deleted. Message from MNHQ re not allowing campaigns not from registered charities etc.

Have I been had? Now panicking about doxxing etc. I just wanted to help. I'm not that savvy really Blush

I love PayPal. Remembering those three little numbers on the back of my bank card is just too much hard work...

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 17/09/2018 21:59

It's the security thing for me too. I don't like getting my bank card out on the tube but using PayPal in public is no problem.

I can’t wait for next season of handmaids tale, I think we are going to see the start of the revolution!

UnderHerEye · 17/09/2018 22:08

Oh sorry, wrong thread!

Silly me!

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 17/09/2018 22:15

Blessed be the fruit loops!

UnderHerEye · 17/09/2018 22:40

UnderHerEye · 17/09/2018 22:42

Genuinely dont know what happened there!!

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 18/09/2018 03:09

No problem, funny things happen sometimes!

inquiquotiokixul · 18/09/2018 05:48

I'm confused. I Googled fair play for women and found their website but didn't see anything about a specific crowd funding project - just normal running cost donation options. Is there an additional keyword anyone could recommend or would that be against mn rules?

Their specific crowdfunder right now is called Hands off my Rights.

inquiquotiokixul · 18/09/2018 08:21

And is this a specific crowdfunder page on the fair play for women website (I can only find a generic "donate" page without specific targets on it) or a specific "Hands off my Rights" page on a crowdfunder platform (I can only find much older pages from earlier in the campaign)

TeenTimesTwo · 18/09/2018 08:40

It's over £5000 now.

averylongtimeago · 18/09/2018 09:40

Do you think people are donating by PayPal to this excellent cause?

inquiquotiokixul · 18/09/2018 09:51

I wasn't just being obtuse as a reason to bump the thread - I genuinely wasn't finding the page but it seems the search results on my phone were different. On a pc googling "Hands off my rights crowdfunder" gave the right page as the 4th result but that page is not in the results doing the same search on my phone. When I reformatted Hands off my rights as a hash tag (spaces between words removed, # at the front) along with the word crowdfunder - then my phone finally gave me the page.

I remember the thread that prompted the banning of Crowdfunding.

It was very upsetting for a lot of people.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 18/09/2018 10:17

Very wise decision to ban.

CunningOperative · 18/09/2018 10:21

Hello.

Um... I have £20 that I’d like to donate to a good cause. Any suggestions?

Grin

Btw thanks Nic & all the women out campaigning, you are all incredible Flowers

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 18/09/2018 14:03

I mentioned to Nic that while people can find the crowdfunder by googling crowdfunder hands off my rights, it could be useful to have a link from the fair play for women homepage too so I think they're going to have a look at that.

Juells · 18/09/2018 15:24

The crowdfunders that manage to winkle money out me are the ones that make it really easy, don't require registration, provide a Paypal 'Donate' button etc.. You have to strike the second someone's attention has been grabbed. If I have to register and have a password and login and blah blah blah I just close the browser and drift away.

DoctorW · 18/09/2018 16:23

Some great feedback here. We'll embed a widget onto the website for the crowdfunder so people know its linked to us officially. Lots of people also donate via paypal directly - it avoid the crowdfunder fees so we get more of the donation.

All the money we raise at the moment is being ploughed into the consultation campaign. We've just ordered another 200,000 prints and we working on loads of other resources that will be out any day now.

BesmirchingMotherhood · 18/09/2018 16:25

You are doing excellent work. Thank you.

Twunk · 18/09/2018 18:58

I did donate yesterday to a good cause like this. I think it may well have been this particular crowdfunder. “hands off my rights” certainly rings a bell.

I have my CVC number memorised, but I certainly do like using PayPal to donate/buy things/send money to people.

Petalflowers · 18/09/2018 19:23

Looked at the website, and consequently completed the consultation.
