Did I do a wrong thing by donating?

I see the crowd funding thread has been deleted. Message from MNHQ re not allowing campaigns not from registered charities etc.

Have I been had? Now panicking about doxxing etc. I just wanted to help. I'm not that savvy really Blush

All these posts are just a transparent attempt to bypass the rules about crowdfunding.

Cross-threading, I see that they make donating easier than GWA do - I complained on another thread about the lack of an easy 'donate' button for GWA, but I see that FPFW have made it easy with Paypal. It does need to be easy, people have to be able to click and donate before they have time to get distracted.

EmpressOfSpartacus · 16/09/2018 10:08

OK Duggees, I won't.

Yes Juelles, it's a lot easier when you can just click on Paypal isn't it?

FlaviaAlbia · 16/09/2018 10:15

Crowdfunding was only banned because of an incident a while ago where a man may or may have not scammed a lot of mumsnetters and sent some dodgy PM's on some long running threads. It was easier to ban all crowdfunding links from then.

FPFW is thankfully not doing that Wink

BesmirchingMotherhood · 16/09/2018 11:18

Oh, thank goodness Fair play for women aren't doing that with their #Handsoffourrights crowd funder.

LangCleg · 16/09/2018 11:31

And should we not mention how well the campaign's going so far either?

No, don't mention anything about £2725!

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 16/09/2018 11:53

Or the 7,000+ new visitors to the site since the campaign started!

HawkeyeInConfusion · 16/09/2018 20:03

They have raised over £3500 now.

HotRocker · 16/09/2018 20:42

Absolutely not bumping the crowdfunder for FPFW. No no no, not doing that at all.

Noqont · 16/09/2018 20:58

Fair play for women are fine. I've donated before and I will continue to do so. It's definitely worth joining their Facebook page for details. They are on twitter too :-)

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 16/09/2018 22:11

I'm just coming on to remind everybody not to bump this thread

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/09/2018 22:18

I don't understand. If I post this, am I bumping the thread? Accidentally like.

BeyondAnOmnishambles · 16/09/2018 22:20

There's a crowdfunder? I didn't know

BlackeyedSusan · 16/09/2018 22:37

eh?

[bit thick emotion]

Noqont · 16/09/2018 22:44

Ooops sorry, I bumped it by accident.

BingBongSong · 16/09/2018 22:45

So pleased that they have reached over £4000!

Noqont · 16/09/2018 22:46

They've got to £4,040 though. Pretty good!

DuggeesWoggle · 17/09/2018 06:33

Wow over £4k that's amazing!

Blessed be the fruit
Under his eye
May the Lord open
Pray the Lord have mercy on us all

Roystonv · 17/09/2018 07:59

Ooh crowd funding here I come.

HawkeyeInConfusion · 17/09/2018 10:02

£4k is great. I still hope they smash their target.

All those normal people donating £20 here, £10 there. This is grassroots activism.

Oops. I seem to have accidentally bumped the thread. Grin

JoggerBottom · 17/09/2018 13:27

What is a bump? Wink

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 17/09/2018 14:22

They're up to £4,345!

Juells · 17/09/2018 14:26

JoggerBottom

What is a bump?

I'm glad you asked that JoggerBottom. I'm sure lots of people want to know.
