Because let's be honest, we'll need it.

To answer a question from the last thread.

Some of Stonewall's LGB / bullying materials are really good. How can they jeopardise this work by ignoring safeguarding in this way?

Because poor Aimee had no idea that any of it was real and believed her convicted animal abuser and had no possible reason to think he was set up and entirely honest. And anyway she had no idea of how serious the accusations were. Poor Aimee.

is that statement not 2 weeks old?

BeyondAnOmnishambles · 12/09/2018 16:34

Yeah date is on the link. Though it's still a brilliant statement

@CesiraAndEnrico apologies for @ing you but I wondered if you were still gathering links between the main players.

Have you seen this? I saw it a while ago on EL's website but it didn't mean anything to me until Bercow refused the UQ from David Davis this week.

With Sport England Chairman, Nick Bitel, marking the launch of #ThisGirlCan, the campaign to get more women participating in sport – Wednesday 7 January 2015

Oh the irony. Girls won't want to participate in sport if they are being thrashed by people with a penis...

"The Green Party does not ‘stand up for democracy’, but on the contrary, in permitting a 20-year-old Equalities Spokesperson to propel a misogynistic agenda and to insult women with impunity if they dare question queer ideology, the Party has spectacularly failed to implement its own declared aims, namely dignity, equality, social justice and human rights for all."

Tis a cracking quote. I listened to an interview (posted on Twitter from YouTube) the other day with Shelia Jeffries who explained the history of queer theory and how it has been in opposition to the goals of what I would call radical feminism. Porn, prostitution and public sex seemed to be the basis of disagreement.

I had not understood what queer theory was or what it stood for so it was a real eye opener.

Hope link works

Clovis @ clovis_liz
Private Eye have picked up on the Aimee Challenor investigation. It would appear that Verita who are running the investigation have a track record of cover ups.

Oh dear!

OhHolyJesus · 21/09/2018 21:12

Right so we can expect a whitewash in Nov and have it all brushed under the carpet in time for Christmas then. Brilliant. Thanks for sharing @RedToothBrush Depressing but good to know not to get my hopes up Hmm

FermatsTheorem · 21/09/2018 21:20

Fuck. Fuck fuck fuckity fuck.

How can they get away with that?

At least Private Eye have covered it.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 21/09/2018 21:47

Um. So they are hoping to attract the ethical vote with a skeleton like that locked up in their closet? Or whose vote are they hoping to attract?

SPOFS · 21/09/2018 21:55

Hmmmm... I get the feeling that Private Eye may be privy to some insider info here?

RedToothBrush · 21/09/2018 22:01

Or whose vote are they hoping to attract?

Number of votes the Green Party got in 2017
525,435

Can anyone remind me what the T population is supposed to be under Stonewall's definition?

theOtherPamAyres · 21/09/2018 22:01

I got the impression that the investigation was to be narrowly focussed on Coventry Local Green party and how David Challenor came to act as an election agent. I expected that Aimee Challoner would be blamed for misjudgement but that was all.

Except it isn't over.

The new leaders take the view that transwomen are women. The old leaders enabled the rise of a form of activism that was authoritarian, dismissive and divisive. Women left the party or were hounded out.

A big question mark hangs over the credibility of the Green Party and its commitment to its supposed values. And that's not going away.

ouda · 22/09/2018 20:20

Socrates11 - thanks for that youtube link - it was fantastic. So clear.

carceralfeminist · 23/09/2018 11:41

Gross.... My trust the Greens was already obliterated, but now I think they may actually be employing a firm that will collude with them to whitewash their atrocious shitting all over women, children and safeguarding.

Manderleyagain · 01/10/2018 12:01

RedToothBrush I saw that too. At least it means Private Eye will cover whatever conclusion/report comes out of the enquiry.

RJFirth · 01/10/2018 21:44

I know a few members had concerns about the appointment of Veritas including me.

Popchyk · 28/11/2018 11:31

Green Party running late with this presumably?

www.greenparty.org.uk/news/2018/09/01/green-party-announces-details-of-independent-investigation/

"The aim is to deliver the final report by mid-November and the date will be agreed once the scope and timetabling of the work are clear."
