Razor blades and stickers again

A twitter account is saying that stickers in Manchester Oxford Road station have razor blades behind them put there by TERFS. If you are terfblocked you won't be able to view.

Well I can imagine actually having to dial the police or walk into a police station would be far too much effort. Much easier to spend days abusing women on social media.

But a quick photo? People who spend every waking moment photographing their day in painfully mundane increments, inexplicably don't take a quick picture before taking to Facebook and twitter?

What goes through their heads beforehand?

This will look plausible?

It's a little concerning how people can be quite so stupid.

And is that man a comedian? A job that generally requires one to be able to read the room?

Datun · 05/02/2019 09:19

Sorry, so many questions!

nauticant · 05/02/2019 09:44

The last time I got caught sharing an Internet rumour as fact (it was actually the David Cameron with the Bullingdon Club smashing up a restaurant one from a decade ago) I owned up immediately and I wince whenever I think back to it.

But arsehole man, well, rather than say "oops, I shouldn't have been gullible" would rather spending days flinging shit at women.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 05/02/2019 09:50

I vaguely know Scott Agnew. He's a nice bloke, had a rough hand dealt to him. Very funny on stage.

Perhaps not reflected much on trans issues, though. He's a gay man. They tend not to think too deeply about trans guff...until they get a transman in their spaces.

Datun · 05/02/2019 10:05

For a 'nice bloke', he was very quick to start calling women cunts.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 05/02/2019 10:23

Agree. Not defending him.

He's being a total arse. Gay men are not that helpful when it comes to GC issues.

NeurotrashWarrior · 05/02/2019 10:27

Disrespectful was that tweet tongue in cheek or real?!

nauticant · 05/02/2019 10:31

In the majority of cases when I see a gay man wade into a GC discussion it is to justify male entitlement and superiority and to tell women to shut up. As time goes on my impression grows of a strong and widespread trait of misogyny in male gay culture.

YouCantBeSirius · 05/02/2019 10:38

I was a friend of Scott. I've had to take a step back because of the woman hating.

YouCantBeSirius · 05/02/2019 10:38

I agree with you nauticant

Datun · 05/02/2019 10:38

For someone who is so quick to condemn t*rfs, he's one himself, unless he is quite happy to sleep with women who identify as men.

Part of my problem with this is the utter arrogance of people parroting mantras who, when challenged, just double down with zero understanding.

I don't like to use the word thick, but sometimes no other word does it.
If you don't understand something, don't spout off about it on social media. And then abuse people who are challenging it.

And all those photographs of the original 'hoax'.

Because it wasn't even a hoax. It was just a lie. A hoax has to have a certain amount of credibility. This was just an outright lie, exposed almost instantly.

It's cringeworthy. I'm not sure if it's just outright gullibility, or a genuine need to find a legitimate outlet to abuse a bunch of women online.

That thread is an abject lesson in rank misogyny and ignorance.

littlbrowndog · 05/02/2019 10:43

Why is he calling women cunts and terfs

If they disagree with him
Jeez what is wron* with him

I also agree about misogyny in gay culture. I was unaware of it when I was younger, but, now even drag sets my teeth on edge.

That and the fact that gay marriage happened before reproductive rights were sorted in Ireland. Why? Cos men wanted to be married, and men don't care if women need abortions.

Sirius what is Janey doing jumping on it?

Vixxxy · 05/02/2019 11:29

Ridiculous lies.

As a side note, does anyone know where I can get some of these stickers (sans razorblades)

7Days · 05/02/2019 11:39

Lol NeuroTrash 'Arse wring thread.' Thought you were just annoyed like Boils my Piss.
Actually did laugh!

Redshoeblueshoe · 05/02/2019 11:43

I might have to report this thread.
Surely it should be in Classics

NeurotrashWarrior · 05/02/2019 12:47

Lol 7! I need to rtfs (again) but yes it would probably boil my piss too.

SunsetBeetch · 05/02/2019 14:25

It's happened to somebody else's friend in Glasgow too. Allegedly.

twitter.com/samarziadat/status/1092721474404798464?s=19

Apparently terf groups are putting up stickers in Glasgow with razor blades stuck underneath them. Be careful peeling any stickers off in your neighbourhood - using your keys are a good alternative. Love and rage to you pals.

Is it a radfem thing not to believe women of colour? A friend found these stickers and hurt herself trying to take one down.

Also don’t appreciate you directing the police in my direction. I don’t want to engage with the police.

When I first got to know gay guys, decades ago when I was a young'un, it did seem to me that some had a deep rooted disgust for women's bodies.

nauticant · 05/02/2019 16:06

If you scroll down that twitter thread (Samar Ziadat) you'll find they made this charming comment:

heterosexuality is a perversion

What is wrong with these people?
