A twitter account is saying that stickers in Manchester Oxford Road station have razor blades behind them put there by TERFS. If you are terfblocked you won't be able to view.

Apparently, it has been reported?

The BTP have replied and said that they're taking action, which is good. Lots of CCTV apparently.

Oh. I just saw the picture with the cuts. Luckily they seem to be very minor / hard to see.

I’m glad the Police are investigating.

Are they aware of offences stand to be charged with for this lunatic behaviour? Stiff sentences imposed since junkies did similar: needles under stickers, in telephone coin returns, vending machines, stair rails..
not only is this bullshit, how would the "stiff sentences" be imposed? A DNA databank, a sample taken from each needle, a national manhunt? He forgot to mention needles in cinema seats and under car door handles too. What a load of shit.

How large and thick are these stickers that they're concealing blades without betraying a bulge? How are people supposedly fragmenting them to be concealed? Do all of these well-funded hate groups have access to nitrogen tanks to freeze stuff and then smash it and pick through for fiddly fragments?

Lots of CCTV apparently.
Not in toilets

That was Eryn's picture, Zoey hasn't posted one. It's sad that people are trying to say that they're making it up for attention when people are getting hurt.

Clearly it's something we learned in neo-nazi school. Were you off that day?

Well if someone has come out the toilets with badly cut hands then they’d be seen on CCTV covered in blood wouldn’t they?
Maybe they sought first aid assistance at the station?
There would have been traces of blood left on the door/wall/hand dryer where the sticker was?
It would be very easy to prove or disprove their claims I‘d have thought.
I smell bullshit!
If one of these clowns had found a sticker with razorblades behind it they have been on to the police straightaway. They‘d be revelling in it.

You are meant to be an anarchist and now the police are on the case. Do you see the contradiction
Sorry I can't help it. This is gold

Individual razor blades (the things you put on safety razors normally have about 3 blades) are actually very flat. If you can remove the blades themselves from their holders, you can do some serious damage, I'd imagine. I managed to cut myself pretty badly with a razor blade that was in the holder when I was shaving my legs, with shaving cream and everything to make it glide - if you were trying to scrub off a sticker roughly and your skin caught on one of these, it would be terrible.

They'd actually be easy to conceal behind a sticker, people would just assume that it had been put on imperfectly or something. It's a horrible practice.

Report
Turph · 05/09/2018 22:45

404NameNotFound those blades are hard to take out of the cartridge, a DE blade would make more sense.
If it ever happened, which it didn't.

I don’t think a couple of anonymous posts on Twitter claiming cut fingers but with (a) no photo, (b) a photo where I can’t really see a cut, (c) no photo of stickers with blades, is really enough to say that anyone actually has been hurt. It does have the feel of a ‘friend of a friend said this group I don’t like are doing this terrible thing’ and I am in the sceptical camp at the moment.

Of course yes if people have been hurt that’s awful and I assume Police will find evidence if there is any to find. And I hope anyone who did such a thing could be found and prosecuted.

There must have been a bee or something. I'm really sad, I've always fancied messing round with liquid nitrogen.

As in, the razor blades. It's not really something most MNetters would ever have contemplated.

I've read the thread and I'm currently holding my razor, the blades are flat. That's what IO'm going off. They could be referring to straight (cut-throat) razor blades, I guess.

You seem to know a lot about razorblades 404. May I suggest an epilator? I haven’t shaved my legs for years, personally, but they’re quite good, and you get used to the pain after a while.

I would be very worried that statements like this might encourage some of the most extremist TRAs to actually do this kind of horrendous act, in order to blame feminists confused
Yes. These are on the side of the “debate” with a history of silencing tactics and violence, they will drop to the lowest of the low to discredit the opposition.

I literally got a safety razor last week, shaved for the first time with it, and my legs were ridiculously smooth, apart from the (numerous) cuts. Might try epilating, but it does sound very painful.
