A twitter account is saying that stickers in Manchester Oxford Road station have razor blades behind them put there by TERFS. If you are terfblocked you won't be able to view.

Well said, pretzels. Flowers

We're going to have to watch ourselves, you know. With all these flowers flying around, we're not going to come across as very viperly or evil. Maybe we should ask for a new viper emoji?

*sorry Turph.

Turph · 09/09/2018 00:41

Sorry to you too, Randomdrunkwoman
Night all

Randomdrunkwoman · 09/09/2018 00:46

Think I’ll go back to my old name. I am not angry at you. I’m angry at the system. I took it out on you and that was wrong. I do think that this is not the best place for me though so I will bow out. Obviously I’m just too raw and emotional and this isn’t helpful. All you on here are looking after all of us. I misdirected my anger. You are not the people I should be angry with. Sorry again Turph

It's way better that you vent your emotions at us than at them Truth ... we have empathy - they do not Smile

Maybe we should ask for a new viper emoji?

I embrace the viper emoji and wonder what a MN scarf with hives of mums and vipers would look like. (How did you do the viper?)

In other news, my family and I were swapping the urban myths around razor blades and stickers. However, one relative was working in Liverpool in the early 80s and wondered if some of the razor mythology arose from the actions of Joe Owens of the BNP who was imprisoned for this in 1983:

Owens was eventually overtaken by the actions and thinking of his extreme associates. In 1983, “a silly thing to do,” as he admits, was sending “envelopes lined with razor blades to prominent members of Liverpool’s Jewish community.”

I took the decision not to link because of the source but for anyone who wants to check, Google will retrieve the text from the above quotations.

BABY TOOL. WELCOME 💐💐🍺🍺

arranfan · 10/09/2018 16:32

Thanks for that, EeebyMum - I wonder if there's any chance there's somebody who is about to be interviewed by the Police for a hoax?

I wonder if anyone not blocked by Erin has brought it to Erin's attention?

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 10/09/2018 16:52

Two huge own goals today in the pathetic attempt to spread this obvious lie.

  1. Somebody tweeted that a UK train company was warning all its staff about razors behind stickers placed there by 'TERFs'. The wonderful @mrkhtake2 has set to work to contact every train company in the UK and most have now confirmed that this is nothing to do with them nor would they ever tweet out this kind of warning.
  1. Another person tweeted a picture of a nasty finger cut, claiming to have got it when removing a sticker with a razor behind it. However:
(a) Tweeter claims to be white in other tweets, hand clearly not a white person's hand. (b) Cut nowhere near you'd expect it to be, given you'd peel off a sticker with the finger tips. (c) Cut looked nothing like a cut from a razor. (d -best bit) Picture turns out to be easily reverse Google searched - was a picture of the finger of a performer called Frank Ocean, all over the internet when he cut it badly a few years ago.

Tweeter has been reported to the police. Given this statement, I hope they take action. media.btp.police.uk/r/15860/sticker_claims_-manchester_oxford_road

From Tiger's link:

"hoaxers waste considerable police time and divert our much-needed resources from other duties."

They certainly do. Let's hope that's a lesson to them - though these people seem to be not only malicious, but extraordinarily stupid, so I'm not holding my breath.

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 10/09/2018 16:58

The stupidity certainly leaps out, doesn't it!

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 10/09/2018 17:03

Screenshotting that police statement!

ErrolTheDragon · 10/09/2018 17:03

Do we expect people who propagated this lie on twitter to apologise and now post what the transport police say?

Maybe someone who twits should ask them? (If it's not already been done)

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 10/09/2018 17:04

was a picture of the finger of a performer called Frank Ocean, all over the internet when he cut it badly a few years ago.

Bloody (get it, get it?) hell!

Funnily enough said person deleted their fraudulent claims.
Did anyone grab a screenshot?

PersistenceIsNotFutile · 10/09/2018 17:08

Unfortunately no, and it's been deleted from the timeline I saw it on.

ToeToToe · 10/09/2018 17:11

Excellent job Tiger - thanks for taking the time to post that. The second link has now been deleted, I notice. Someone's pants are on fire.

It's all lies, as we all knew. GC feminists were never going be putting razor blades behind stickers ffs.

They literally have nothing on us, we are non-violent women fighting to defend women's rights and children's safety. They have nothing on us - so they have to make it up.

LangCleg · 10/09/2018 17:11

This is exactly what I was talking about on the "what we can and can't say" thread about LM's stuff being taken down and some people were exhorting FWR to take a nicer tone. Anti-woman activists don't censor themselves in case feminists take them the wrong way. They'll call whatever we say hate speech, however we say it and no matter how far they have to stretch it out of context. And if we don't give them anything to misrepresent, they just make up lies.

Waste of time worrying about our tone or brusqueness.

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 10/09/2018 17:19

Unfortunately I didn't take screenshots but I strongly suspect others did. Must get into the habit myself!

ShrodingersSturdyPyjamas · 10/09/2018 17:23

Screenshot for you.

Yes please do screenshot all batshittery. It will be useful one day.

Razor blades and stickers again
TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 10/09/2018 17:27

Yes, someone else did get one of them and I've got the other. So here you go.

arranfan · 10/09/2018 17:34

So, I genuinely don't know this - do Twitter remove accounts that are demonstrably implicated in wasting police time?

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 10/09/2018 17:43

Excellent work getting those screenshots of the fraudulent claims.
They would go nicely on a poster!

“Anti-woman activists fraudulently used this photo of pop star Frank Ocean’s injury in order to suggest women protesting against rapists in women’s jails were deliberately harming people.”

Or

“Anti-women activists fake injury to imply women are dangerous for discussing men raping in women’s prisons”

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 10/09/2018 17:44

do Twitter remove accounts that are demonstrably implicated in wasting police time?

They have been known to make an account inaccessible to anyone (including the user) if the police request access.
