No direct accusations against Edward Lord (the 'non-binary' freemason who is trying to remove single-sex spaces in London) but here he is describing as a "hero" a man who was a member of the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) and is a continuing "advocate" for paedophiles:

"However AC was responsible for blocking 50,000 mainly women on twitter and was very proud of getting many women [and men] booted off for daring to question the ethics of the Green Party. "

With DC I think? The dad and child built the terfblocker together.

While the child was simultaneusly not talking to / not seeing / not having anything to do with / etc etc the dad.

R0wantrees · 03/09/2018 13:22

Significant background to escalation of online child protection concerns:
BBC article today:
'Sajid Javid threatens tech giants over online child sex abuse'
(extract)
"Referrals of child abuse images to the National Crime Agency (NCA) have surged by 700% in the last five years, according to new figures - and the NCA estimates that about 80,000 people in the UK present some kind of sexual threat to children online."

So allegedly Edward Lord is another person doing a twitter clean up operation.

A lot of 2018 tweets relating to trans rights are gone apparently.

VickyEadie · 03/09/2018 17:47

Have some people had a tip-off about something, do you think?

WomblingWoman · 03/09/2018 18:03

Perhaps...but I think it's more likely they are looking at the scrutiny the Greens are coming under and starting to backpedal.

They've had quite a while thinking they can say what they like and now the disturbing underbelly is starting to be revealed....

hackmum · 04/09/2018 11:42

Wombling: "They've had quite a while thinking they can say what they like and now the disturbing underbelly is starting to be revealed...."

It's interesting, isn't it. There are an awful lot of people who like to swim with the tide. If you take the communist regimes of Eastern Europe, there were people who happily joined the Communist Party, said all the right things, rose up the ranks, used the opportunities it gave them to progress in their jobs. And then came the point where it all started tumbling down and they had to decide whether to hold out to the bitter end or suddenly start pretending that they'd never supported the Communist Party at all, and actually, they'd really been working underground to oppose it. (Just as no one in France ever collaborated with the Vichy government and they'd all been part of the Resistance.)

And now the tide is turning. People like Owen Jones are discovering that they are going to be on the wrong side of history and they'd better scrub all evidence that they ever supported this madness.

There will be other people who almost certainly have more sinister things to hide that they're worried the Green Party investigation might uncover.

More lunacy from the Greens here (apols if this has already been posted, but I haven’t seen it).

In response to the “Trans women don’t get periods you’ve all taken this too far” discourse... a thread on trans feminine periods

threadreaderapp.com/thread/1025797273182199811.html

Apparently trans women get periods, because periods aren’t like, shedding your uterine lining, they’re about sore tits and grumpiness and HORMONES, and trans women take the same hormones, right?

(Let’s ignore all the stuff about hormone fluctuation and how oestrogen and progesterone levels rise and plummet during the mentrual cycle. I mean, correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think a trans woman’s hormonal regime is designed to fluctuate like that).

And then, in response, a man and aspiring Green MP, pondering whether this theory means that he too, with his male hormones, experiences male periods without knowing it.

twitter.com/adamfmcgregor/status/1026465123270049792?s=21

Wow. I guess the understanding that the menstrual cycle is linked only to reproductive organs is flawed, and there is something inherent to the hormones? Maybe I get period symptoms as a cis man and don't even notice them, who knows?

Let’s enjoy that again. The idea of the menstrual cycle being linked only to reproductive organs might be flawed. Basic, fundamental biology? Nope, turns out we know better now and it might have been wrong all along.

They think they’re being incredibly clever but actually they’re so stupid.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 04/09/2018 12:27

"When we talk about trans women having periods, we’re not talking about menstruation specifically."

So periods have been redefined as nothing to do with the uterus / bleeding, in order to be inclusive.

Where does that leave stuff around "period poverty", girls and women being shut out of the house when they're bleeding etc etc?

Is the person who wrote that a green party person then?

As an aside, they never mention the fact that it's really common to get the runs when you get your period.

ah yes

Just skimmed down their feed they sound like a teenager.

Green party exec what does that mean?

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 04/09/2018 12:32

Ah, the Greens - the party of the environment and, um, science.

Maybe Molly and Adam are really secret climate change deniers going undercover to discredit any claim the party ever had to evidenced based analysis.

TheGoddessFrigg · 04/09/2018 12:45

Perhaps we should call it MENstruation....

NothingOnTellyAgain · 04/09/2018 12:47

lol

MENstruation

They can have the runs that goes with it
Although then they will spend even more time in the toilet and I'm not sure that's possible Confused

theOtherPamAyres · 04/09/2018 12:59

I think that the non-women who claim to have periods are actually werewolves. They might need to investigate why they get particularly crankey and hairy at a full moon, and why that mysterious achey feeling can only be satisfied by gobbling up the family pet.

Not that a werewolf is anything to be ashamed of. There's always room for werewolves in the LBGTQWW Greens.

VickyEadie · 04/09/2018 15:43

Next we'll see from men:

'I don't know why women make such a fuss about their periods. When I have mine I barely notice..."

PimmsnLemonade · 21/09/2018 21:41

Another one to add:

Joe Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool, (currently attempting to shut down feminists talking about safeguarding and to make toilets in the city mixed sex). Here he is tipping off a paedophile about a police investigation

www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/liverpool-teacher-acccused-downloading-child-3445705

Are there any more I've missed?

To be clear, these are just the ones that have come to light within the last two or three months. I suspect this is just the tip of iceberg.

happydappy2 · 21/09/2018 21:59

Urggh, I can’t link but the video is on twitter, to see him state that he will not talk to women about their concerns, because Liverpool resistors were a hate group, tipped me over the edge. What right does a man have to dismiss women’s genuine concerns about self id.
Then to see all the women around him clapping.....how delusional are they? I find it hard to understand that he was born from a Mother, yet hates women so much.

ouda · 23/09/2018 00:06

Can I just ask, because I tried to look at the link on the top of this thread from Edward Lord, and got the message "You are blocked from following @edwardlord and viewing @edwardlord's Tweets.".

Is this because he has deleted this tweet? Or does it actually mean I am blocked from seeing his tweets? Which if so is a first as I have never actually posted anything on twitter - I follow loads of people of a range of views - mainly work-related stuff which has nothing to do with anything of remote interest to Edward Lord - but don't tweet. So am baffled how/why I would be chosen to be blocked. Does he simply block every single person who follows someone he doesn't like? I can't have posted anything he objected to because...I only use it to read other people's threads. Confused

Can someone rather more familiar with twitter than me explain this??

UpstartCrow · 23/09/2018 00:11

It means you are blocked. If the tweet had been deleted the page would be blue with a message in white saying 'this page doesnt exist.'
You've probably been added to the latest version of terf blocker, based on who you follow or a tweet you've liked.

ouda · 23/09/2018 10:14

OK, that's even weirder. Not only have I never tweeted, or retweeted, I have also never liked anyone's tweets either. (And don't plan to - I don't have time in my life for engaging in any more social media, and if I did, I would never choose to engage in one that was such a Wild West in terms of lack of moderation. Just not my kind of thing.)

I follow a huge range of people on twitter, mostly work-related but also a wide range of random individuals with a diverse range of opinions and usually a good sense of humour. That includes some GC feminists but also some whose views oppose that. And the vast, vast majority are nothing to do with feminism or trans issues at all.

So is there really someone out there adding random names to Terfblocker just for daring to READ the views of a few GC feminists??! Not actually expressing an opinion on them either way? That seems to be taking thoughtcrime to a new level. I certainly hope Edward Lord has never spoken in favour of free speech or attacked others for stifling free speech - apparently now even reading the views of someone he dislikes is now grounds for him to block them.

And how do they decide - surely all the well-known GC feminists must be followed by loads of people who disagree with their views too, as is apparent from all those who leap in on their threads to disagree with their tweets. Does Terfblocker end up inadvertently blocking loads of its own supporters? This is just insane.

I am furious that I have been labelled as anti-trans despite having literally never expressed a single opinion on ANYTHING on twitter. Presumed guilty just for existing. Angry

hackmum · 23/09/2018 11:20

ouda - I think the way it works is they block all the GC feminists and then they block everyone who follows a GC feminist. It's very sweeping. That's on top of people who have "liked" a GC feminist tweet or responded to a GC feminist tweet - that's how people like Dunkin' Donuts ended up on the Terfblocker list, I think. I believe they have something like 20,000 people on the list, and they wouldn't get that many just by targeting GC feminists.

ouda · 23/09/2018 12:27

How bizarre. If I was active on twitter, this would make me tweet at loads of large companies and famous people. In fact, loads and loads of people. As many as possible. Just to get them to respond and be blocked too. Eventually, you could end up with everyone in the world being on the Terfblocker lists, and just a few weird men living in their pristine world only visible to each other!

What a bunch of saddos these inadequate men like Edward Lord must be. To see all anonymous people, who have never expressed any opinion on the subject whatsoever, as automatic 'enemies' just because they've had the audacity to LOOK Shock at the views of people you don't agree with!

How lacking in confidence must Edward Lord be in the soundness of his own arguments if he is so terrified of someone who might have read a different view.

But I suppose the fact he knows he is talking rubbish must be apparent from the fact he has now (apparently - I wouldn't know) chosen to delete all his own tweets.

Pathetic. Utterly pathetic.

welshbookworm · 05/11/2018 11:48

How interesting to see that Edward Lord obviously uses the Terfblocker blocklist. I can't see his tweet.

rightreckoner · 05/11/2018 15:22

Interesting that he uses it given he’s elected to represent people. But blocks them instead. I guess the City of London Corporation Code of Conduct says nothing specific about the use of blanket blocking technology but I’d guess it’s against the spirit of the Code.
