UPDATE.

There's been a change of plan and Venice is going into court at 9:30.

She is making a statement before she goes in.

Apparently there is going to be a press presence and a protest by TRAs. Although they have said it will be peaceful.

I know it's earlier than anticipated, but I'm sure Venice and Linda could do with support at 9:30, if possible. It would be useful to show the photographers quite how much backing these women have.

The TRA protest is starting at nine, I believe. It would be a misrepresentation if the only photograph that hits the newspapers is of them.

But it is, of course, perfectly understandable if people cannot rearrange their plans.

I'm posting to update and give people the option.

Gah - I completely understand that legal hearings change very quickly. I rearranged my day round the information that we wouldn't need to be at court to show support until 15:30. I can't change it back.

I'll need to keep updated on whether it's still appropriate to go along in the afternoon for Linda (and Venice) as I'm uncertain as to what is happening now. I hope it means something positive for both of them.

arranbubonicplague

I hear ya.

LittleLebowski · 29/11/2018 22:18

Thanks for the update Datun - won't be able to make the morning, which is a shame. Hope others will be able to give them some support. I don't remember any TRAs there last time, unless they were scared off by the Venice & Linda supporters.

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 29/11/2018 22:24

Thanks Datum, I def can't do the earlier time but hope it all goes well and that there's a good attendance (how did the TRA's manage to reorganise themselves so rapidly? Grrr)

I'm definitely coming to the Radfem meeting in the evening though so hope to meet some of you there

Macareaux · 29/11/2018 22:31

Thanks for the update Datun. I was planning to be there but my train doesn't get me into London until around 1pm. Looking forward to meeting everyone in the evening but would be great to meet up in the afternoon too if others would like to.

ToeToToe · 29/11/2018 22:38

Good luck to Venice and Linda tomorrow - this whole thing is such madness, it's actually scaring me. Will be awaiting the outcome with bated breath.

Please can anyone there update twitter and/or this thread with photos and info, for those of us who can't be there. Good luck everyone that going to show their support Thanks

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 29/11/2018 22:44

Yes please from me too on updates on the thread/ twitter

RaininSummer · 29/11/2018 23:03

Good luck to Linda and Venice. Well done all who are planning on going. Have a great meeting. Sad I can't be there.

2rebecca · 29/11/2018 23:30

Good luck

Needmoresleep · 29/11/2018 23:46

I can be there for 9.00am. Hope I am not alone. The idea of a TRA protest sounds quite scary.

This is important though, as much about freedom of speech as it is about women’s rights. For those who missed it, Richard Littlejohn wrote a good article in the Mail when it all first kicked off.

NotAnotherFeckingMuftiDay · 29/11/2018 23:50

I'm going to try to make it for 9am - hopefully the trains will behave.

MindTheMinotaur · 30/11/2018 00:27

Will be there in the morning.

concretesieve · 30/11/2018 00:39

Good luck, everyone.

CarolDanvers · 30/11/2018 00:41

Could possibly get there. Won't know anyone though so will just hang around to make up the numbers I guess Smile

Writersblock2 · 30/11/2018 01:12

We are aiming to be there. We will be the ones with the fuck off big banner. Come say hi. ;)

ChickenonaMug · 30/11/2018 01:33

I will be there. Travelling overnight to get there. I will be standing with the ones with the fuck off big banner.

ChattyLion · 30/11/2018 02:40

Can’t be there but thinking of you all and keeping everything crossed for a good outcome from this case. Thank you to all of you who are going. May your banners be fuckoff big sized and glorious. Flowers Glitterball Brew Gin Cake Bear Star

Your peaceful, rational, cheery female presence in support of Venice and Linda will show them solidarity; but will also bring about yet more understanding and support from other women who haven’t heard about any of this yet - more and more women hearing about it tomorrow and saying, wait, what? Two women have been dragged up in front of a judge because of.... Hmm
OK Hooooooooooooooooooooooooldonafuckingminute.......

SlightAggrandising · 30/11/2018 02:54

NotaRealLawyer · 30/11/2018 08:32

Thinking of you all, I'm too far away today, but looking in and holding you all very dear. Flowers

Bittermints · 30/11/2018 08:35

Good luck, all! Had not grasped that it had changed to the afternoon (slow on the uptake) and sadly can't go this morning.

NotTerfNorCis · 30/11/2018 08:40

Good luck everyone! Make sure our voices are heard. :)
