I've never seen a photo of giulliana. Why is that?

I saw one today, so I could answer your question. But if I did, the post would be deleted.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 26/09/2018 21:25

Ah light dawns about transphobic handkerchiefs, possibly?

If a unpalatable factual message has referenced suffragettes on twitter then is it that anything and everything suffragette is now associated with that message and has become Bad and representative of thoughtcrime and an act of intentional aggression? Or something? If you turn left at the traffic lights and squint a bit? Somewhat like dictionary definitions on billboards.

Just name changed.

I was there today and it made be blub just walking past all the women with banners and the powerful statement of solidarity with the two women being bullied for being fearless.

I overheard a women saying "Hi - I remember you from Greenham" to another.. and it was moving to see Posie's enormous Woman, noun, human female banner there. Woman-centred feminism is back.

I also loved the moment when Linda Bellos and Venice Allan emerged to applause from a crowd that had thickened while the were inside. They looked a little bit stressed when they first stepped out, but suddenly very happy with the reception. And Linda Bellos immediately launched into a speech like a pro.

It all felt iconic and very special.

Someone upthread asked about why the sufragette flag is the colours it is:

Green, white, violet = give women votes.

breastfeedingclownfish · 26/09/2018 22:28

Green, white, violet = give women votes

Aww. I didn't know that. (A bit ashamed). Thanks now

9years · 26/09/2018 23:14

Shocked this case wasn’t thrown out. Proud to be there, will stand up and be counted again in November.

FairNotFair · 27/09/2018 07:04

Green, white, violet = give women votes

I think also the green = hope; purple = dignity; white = purity

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 27/09/2018 08:03

t was clearly an apprehension grounded in Othello, Desdemona, Cassio, Iago, and the hankie. I'm a little unclear on who was being assigned which roles but possibly Giuliana was affecting to believe that the hankie placed her in danger

I like that...

Im looking back through the thread to find out what happened...help a womyn out and give me a clue??

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 27/09/2018 08:04

Found it

Goes back to court on 30th November...

BiologyIsReal · 27/09/2018 09:57

Someone has said on another thread that green-white-violet standing for give women votes is an urban myth.

heresyandwitchcraft · 27/09/2018 11:46

Perhaps the Green Violet White could stand for "Give Women Voices" or something?

LangCleg · 27/09/2018 12:20

Trying to control courts in order to intimidate your victim is a hallmark of male pattern abuse. See this article:

www.womensaid.org.uk/is-it-timesup-for-the-family-courts/

I see the demand for Linda to remove her handkerchief as having many similarities. Duluth wheel behaviour.

Charliethefeminist · 27/09/2018 12:23

Someone told me on MN that they are trying to claim suffrage colours as a gender queer flag.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 27/09/2018 12:27

charlie

Have they not got a flag...i thought they had a flag

Ds1 likes vodka so i like to get the absolut vodka in the rainbow bottle...ive assumed its rainbow for LGB, maybe they just like rainbows

Charliethefeminist · 27/09/2018 12:31

I googled it and it does look like purple green white

BettyDuMonde · 27/09/2018 12:38

We can definitely prove that the suffragettes were first!

Charliethefeminist · 27/09/2018 12:40

Oh yes. No one even care what the genderwueer flag is

AsAProfessionalFekko · 27/09/2018 13:31

Women Got Vaginas?

ErrolTheDragon · 27/09/2018 14:00

The genderqueer flag seems to be accidental- I'm inclined to believe someone in the US would have no idea. But would have been nice if they'd changed it once they were told, to avoid confusion.

GenderApostate · 27/09/2018 14:18

They started “shaking and crying” when told they had appropriated the WSPU colours? Hmm

AsAProfessionalFekko · 27/09/2018 14:19

Who was shaking and crying and why??

ErrolTheDragon · 27/09/2018 14:22

Who was shaking and crying and why??

The person who designed the genderqueer flag, in the link I put just upthread.

arranfan · 27/09/2018 14:22

The author of the post ErroltheDragon linked above was the one shaking and crying at the suggestion that the colours had been appropriated.

Charliethefeminist · 27/09/2018 14:24

Well they can't have them, however much they shake and weep.
