Lost me at 'cis' Sorry. How on earth has that term became mainstream acceptable? Fair enough Joe Blogs on the street but a professional body, it then just dilutes anything else they have to say.

VickyEadie · 30/08/2018 08:00

They appear to have mistaken the word 'definition' for 'a range of stereotypical words which often don't apply in any case'.

FanWithoutAGuard · 30/08/2018 08:01

^Many men in urban subcultures spend a lot of time and care
on their appearance, through clothing, make-up, exercise regimes, tattoos and/or piercings^

ROFL it's just all so bad you have to laugh or you'd cry.

littlbrowndog · 30/08/2018 08:03

It was the partner of Edward lord that wrote the guidelines

It is a long document but I can’t find the thread where whole thing was showed

AngryAttackKittens · 30/08/2018 08:03

"Both men and women display a strong interest in their appearance, but it's different when men do it, somehow, and is definitely not social, them not being women and all."

AnchorMum · 30/08/2018 08:03

Compartmentalise the 2 classes of biological sex down to offensive stereotypes, 'neurodiversity' and feelings - and the definition of female and male holds no meaning any longer.

We all become non-binary. Divide and rule.

I'm northern. I'm strong and assertive. But I'm middle class.

Does this make me a man?

littlbrowndog · 30/08/2018 08:10

Bodies
The sex of a baby is medically assigned on the basis of the length of the clitoris/penis."
👆that from the document

Can anyone link to the other thread please? I can’t find it. Tia.

NotTerfNorCis · 30/08/2018 08:15

There's another thread on this here. Check out the post by iismum discussing her 'trans-Northern' identity.

On the bright side, the idea that to be a woman is to be docile and nurturing demolishes the TRA argument. How many TRAs who identify as women are sweet and retiring? We know plenty that are just the opposite.

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 30/08/2018 08:21

I was going to say that was written by a man who likes to wank into his wife's knickers whilst she is down sorting the kids' dinners out.

But obvs it was written by Edward Lord's partner. It makes total sense now.

LangCleg · 30/08/2018 08:21

I can't remember if it was mentioned on the other thread, but apparently author Dr Meg-John Barker is the partner of "non binary mason" Edward Lord.

LangCleg · 30/08/2018 08:22

Oh, cross post Pyjamas, sorry.

AngryAttackKittens · 30/08/2018 08:23

For those who haven't seen the other thread the part of the document that's about cheating partners is interesting.

LangCleg · 30/08/2018 08:23

Here's another fabulous snippet:

Bodies

The sex of a baby is medically assigned on the basis of the length of the clitoris/penis.

Yep. The clitoris is a short penis and the penis is a long clitoris. No difference between them at all other than length.

Forgotthebins · 30/08/2018 08:26

Narrows down one's choice of counsellor doesn't it - send this to them, ask them whether they agree with this piffle, and if they do, find a different shrink. Assigned rational at birth.

VickyEadie · 30/08/2018 08:26

Yep. The clitoris is a short penis and the penis is a long clitoris. No difference between them at all other than length.

That is ignorance of biology on a quite astonishing (and frankly, terrifying) scale. As is ignoring the presence of things like a vagina...

JustLikeBefore · 30/08/2018 08:28

men = independent, rational, sexual, caring about their work.

Just WTAF

So women = dependent, irrational, prude, scatty unable to care about their work.

LemonJello · 30/08/2018 08:28

It’s so obviously a load of absolute bobbins.

The Authors note on Terminology:

I’ve attempted to explain new terms as I go along, or to make their meaning obvious by the context. Definitions are given at the start of each subsection on a specific identity or practice. There’s a full glossary of key terms in Richards and Barker (2013), listed in the further resources at the end of this resource. Google is also your friend on this!

Oh, is google my friend Meg-John? How sweet. Do you know who is upset that you haven’t called in a while? The fucking dictionary.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/08/2018 08:29

Oh, I do hope the Daily Mail gets hold of this. It deserves the widest possible audience.

National Peak-Trans Day.

Ereshkigal · 30/08/2018 08:31

We need to make sure all Meg-John's "new terms" are in the Urban Dictionary. Google is indeed our friend.
