Laura Huteson death: Hull man killed woman in 'bizarre' sex game www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-humber-45140580

How often hetersexual men die during “risky” sex games because I can’t think of one case from the news? I know that sadly happens in same sex couples/ participants (can think of a couple examples from the news) but in hetero? It seems it tends to be women who love being throttled, punched, tied up, brutalised.

What does it mean he did not intend that to happen. What did he think would happen.

Hackmum I saw that. Appalling. Surely the police will prosecute? (It'll be dismissed as banter or some such rubbish)

hackmum · 09/12/2018 12:41

I would really hope the police prosecute. But they don’t exactly have a history of taking violence against women seriously, do they?

There's a thread on AIBU about this. Appalling case. 40 injuries and much more are gross negligence apparently.

When did dismissing these sorts of deaths as "sex games gone wrong" become a thing? I search my memory for news stories of murders when I was younger, no doubt a lot of DV deaths weren't even reported but I don't recall any "sex games". Undoubtedly it must be linked to the rise of porn and the internet but I just wonder about how it suddenly became a useful line of defence.

Anlaf · 12/12/2018 21:02

All these cases are horrific, but why can such terrible internal injuries be ever considered "consensual" part of sexual activity? Poor Natalie Connolly - it's appalling that he got a manslaughter conviction only.

Newcastle Crown Court heard the couple had been due to split up on the day of her death after a series of rows. But during one last passionate session, Mrs Heaton was strangled with a length of washing line in an alleged sex game. Heaton told police he had accidentally killed her, but the court heard he planned to snatch his two sons from her and had prepared a letter to post to her afterwards.

At school there was a boy who would jokingly pretend to choke girls, because that’s what they like (no prizes for guessing where that’s come from) - he’s the one person in my life that I’ve had really bad vibes from, and have asked dd to never be alone with him!

This was posted on another thread. Looks like a murderer in the making but apparently the school did nothing when he was reported. It's really worrying.

Three years and 8 months Angry
That's all that Natalie Connolly's life was worth to the law of the land. Her injuries were so horrific yet this wealthy millionaire (who has been out on bail since his conviction) gets a minimal sentence for 'sex games gone wrong' aka as murder to the rest of us.

It's beyond appalling. What he hell goes through the heads of juries and judges on cases like this? He was even found not guilty of grievous bodily harm. Her injuries included a blow out fracture to her left eye.
The judge said "This was grossly irresponsible behaviour by you".

I'm so sick of reading about these "sex games gone wrong".
