Usually when you see hashtags about a diagnosis that doesn't stem from the medical establishment, you would be right to be dubious.
The anti-vaxxers are a good comparison.

Must be hard to wrap your head around if the idea that women know nothing is a cornerstone of your belief system.

thebewilderness · 27/07/2018 19:45

I cannot possibly be the only one who thinks IcyNoII is typing one handed.

AngryAttackKittens · 27/07/2018 19:46

I'm picturing a speech bubble over his head that just reads "muh anime!"

WHY are you saying that ROGD doesn't exist in the face of people saying that their child has
gender dysphoria
which had
rapid onset?

Because it doesn't exist, it is not a diagnosable condition.*

Acute conditions are severe and sudden in onset. This could describe anything from a broken bone to an asthma attack. A chronic condition, by contrast is a long-developing syndrome, such as osteoporosis or asthma.

Your propaganda would not matter, garum, if you were not telling lies on a web site where parents come for help and advice.
You are maliciously harming parents and their children. Please stop immediately.

Fishywishyhead · 27/07/2018 20:13

Third hit on duck duck go for Sakura anime is pornhub hentai.

Tumblr is full of anime obsessed rogd-esque girls who identify as nonbinary or trans. The tag I often see associated is “wanting to be the boyfriend”. I’m pretty sure it’s a thing, when I was a teenager it was eating disorders.

Tww1 · 27/07/2018 20:38

A pattern discussed by parents of ROGD teens is that they all seem to say the exact same thing. It’s as if someone has groomed them into the lingo to use when parents ask questions. It is so obvious these are not their words but a template.
The worst bit is they reinvent their history. Any parent knows this is indeed untrue. When these are seen multiple times and not just by a handful of kids then the parents of these teens see external influences at play. It is not just parents who see this. It is the family and friends who see it too. But the kids have another answer. I repressed it. Who they are trying to kid. Like I don’t know my child. Even the photos of the happy child get challenged. Happiness can not be feigned. The laughter, the smile and the eyes show the truth. Denial is amazing though. If a child thinks they were not happy in an obvious happy photo then can we trust their interpretation. The objective truth is also not allowed to be challenged.
By the way, this template exists. Go on any of the transgender sites and see the glitter family in action. It is terrifying reading what these adults are doing to our vulnerable teens.
The trans activist are attacking parents now because we see them and are not taking this as a truth. I know my child and I know my child needs proper help. The Memorandum of Understanding does not allow questioning. Although if my child identified as disabled and wanted to cut off their legs, no professional would agree to this. Well there are the money grabbing professsionals who would no doubt.

Tww1 · 27/07/2018 20:40

Oh yes. A lot of the girls are heavy into anime. Another pattern noticed by us parents.

Italiangreyhound · 27/07/2018 20:56

"Trans adults understand this issue perfectly well, and are without doubt the most important voices in this debate."

Trans kids is usually a term used for homosexual transsexuals who experienced dysphoria and transitioned early. The modern trans umbrella has a lot of other trans voices in it. Assuming they were all 'trans kids' is a big assumption.

What about the voices of people who thought they were trans and then discovered they were not. Seens those voices useful too @garam

I think it is very strange to assume a middle aged male who doesn't want to alter the middle aged male body has anything in common with a dysphoric teenage girl who wants to strap her breasts down or have them cut off. They ate not two sides of the same coin, so what could the first possibly tell the second.

MrGHardy · 27/07/2018 20:59

One of the first things I thought about the trans movement when I got into the topic was anti-vaxx.

Vaccinate your child and it will become autistic.

Don't transition your child and it will kill itself.

Wasn't long before the trans activists did a Trump and called the other side "anti-vaxx" because of course they are the ones who have "science" on their side.

You are so late to the party, but kudos for getting, as of now, 8 pages worth of replies.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 27/07/2018 21:05

Fuck me what happened

I went out and now there are pages of it

Still on oage 1 so just to make it crystal clear

I believe that some children are trans and will become trans adults. i also believe that some children may think they are at this stage and will not become trans adults ...and that such a thing as ROGD MIGHT exist

Thats being open minded

I also believe that some medical FACTS were not treated such until many years later

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 27/07/2018 21:09

Which is why anything more modern than these studies is roundly dismissed on here

Isnt ROGD a new thing?

AngryAttackKittens · 27/07/2018 21:10

"Modern" is an interesting way to say "made up by some random on Twitter/Tumblr".

Voice0fReason · 27/07/2018 21:17

It's kids like this who need protection.
He's a gay male but was pulled into the belief that he was trans, encouraged by the responses from other people about how he looked as a girl. He was weeks away from starting life-changing treatment when he realised that he wasn't trans.

Teenagers have a need to fit in and belong. If they don't feel like they fit, they may attempt to change themselves in order to fit. Even if what they are changing themselves into isn't them. They may try different things out to see how it feels before growing out of it or moving onto something else. Autistic kids struggle even more with identity and trying to find where they fit. They should be able to express themselves and try different things out without making any permanent changes or declarations.

Wanderabout · 27/07/2018 21:21

This thread of concerned parents talking about teenage daughters often with ASD/lesbian/abuse histories is striking. There are so many:

mobile.twitter.com/Transgendertrd/status/1022905699133743104

Tww1 · 27/07/2018 21:28

Yes it is.
Transsexual as we knew it was very rare. It got careful screening hence the lack of regret.

Our kids are not being afforded the same screening. That’s why we are seeing more detransitioners.
That’s why ROGD needs screening too. Not just total affirmation during the tumultuous teen years. It’s so frustrating that parents are ignored. Yet parents who affirm are the good guys. Why can I not be the good guy? We all do what we think is right for our child. How am I abusive if I only have my child’s interest at heart. I know my child better than anyone but I am dismissed. Something wrong here.

As it is ROGD awareness week I am speaking out. This is not something I wish on anyone to go through. I may not help my child but I hope others will see what may be I front of them.
Keep a close eye on the internet and if your child is of high school age they will be influenced by this too. Pre warned is fore armed. I didn’t see this coming. If I could turn back time .......

Tww1 · 27/07/2018 21:31

My response was to Rufus. I’m so slow at typing. Plus I’m doing it secretly.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 27/07/2018 21:49

Thank you tww

Its very interesting that garam is allowed to roundly dismiss this 'new ROGD' thing

archery2 · 27/07/2018 21:51

Apologies if someone already posted this further up (I haven't read the whole thing) but rapid onset is cited in the following article: 'Gender dysphoria in adolescence: current perspectives', which was published in 'Adolescent Health, Medicine and Therapeutics' (Dove Press), 2018:9, 31-41

Tww1 · 27/07/2018 21:58

You see the reason though. If it can be shown that external forces are manipulating our kids who by the way tend to have some other psychological issue or aspergers then it proves it is not born this way. If the transgender activist want us to believe it then they have to dismiss ROGD.

I wish our kids had the wariness to see this. They can’t because developmentally they haven’t got the critical skills. But hey ho catch them young. This is the next stage which is now happening. The story books pitched to our younger kids prove it. Once this is pervasive at all levels, how do our kids stand a chance.
Biology is redefining itself too the young generation will see this as the norm.
Bastards
Now I’m going out to have a drink and calm down.

Tww1 · 27/07/2018 22:00

Sorry so bad at proof reading. I get so irked and then post. Need to calm down

FermatsTheorem · 27/07/2018 22:06

One thing that is genuinely well established in the scientific literature is the timetable of brain development from birth to adulthood - and it is well established that the last bit to mature, in the early to mid twenties, is the prefrontal cortex, the bit that deals with impulse control, weighing consequences of actions and making rational decisions.

A child announcing they want cross sex hormones at age fourteen is ten years too young, neurologically speaking, to be allowed to make that decision.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 27/07/2018 22:12

Ive just done that search that icy is getting a bit overexcited by

And it came up exactly the same as datun no steakhouse to be seen

I didnt look at the website as ive no fucking interest in doing so

But that's absolutely what came up

Tww1 · 27/07/2018 22:14

That’s so true. That’s why parents need to keep this in mind. The key of the door might be 18 but not in terms of cognitive development. It is this cognitive development we need to push home.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 27/07/2018 22:19

Hi, can everyone henceforth please ignore icy? Its all getting rather tiresome.

Sorry hotrocker i hadnt got this far

ABitCrapper · 27/07/2018 22:32

I have a late transitioning trans woman family member.
Heavily into anime porn.(just saying)
Has rewritten our shared history so they were "always trans". Denial of reality.
Due to the affirmation policy this family member no longer gets any help for their other MH problems and she believes they will all be cured by the next stage of transition. And then the next stage. Nope sorry after hormones. Nope sorry after bottom surgery. Ah no sorry it's due to a transphobic society. It's all your fault.

This was not rapid onset.

However I have school mum friends terrified by social contagion Trans at the local comp. I am terrified for my ASD daughter. She currently identified as a dragon - consistently, persistently etc. But it's only a matter of time before she's at that school, or on the internet etc
