They won't get threats. Nor will trans men demand access. They were socialised as females and, to be honest wouldn't dare be as demanding as their opposite. It's very illuminating in my opinion, that there are currently 0 transmen in male prisons and that they are not vocal in wanting to be placed there. They know they are not.

Hi all. Long time lurker here. Hit peak trans a few weeks ago. I saw that article too. His response is classic, should be the only response from anyone to TRAs. Women were conditioned to be too polite and accommodating to nonsense for too long. Thought the same re getting gay male allies, generally they take no shit from anyone especially the older ones who have been through some serious shit in their lives. But challenging to get them to see it as important enough to take action on, as it doesn’t affect then, not really. They know their spaces will be protected. On transmen in prisons, thank god they are not so far. I don’t think they will ever demand access to prisons but way things are going they could be forced to and that would put them at serious risk.This whole trans thing is a mess, do people not actually think about the consequences.

Exactly. Women are unfortunately conditioned by society to conform to male expectations and be kind to men, even if they find them threatening. How many women have been in situations where they feel unsafe with a man but smile at him or try to calm him or be 'nice' so he won't get violent? So many of us have had that experience, sadly. TAs get away with their behaviour towards women because so many women fear men.

That's why I am so skeptical of the transactivist narrative. 99% of it is aimed at women and women's spaces. Men's spaces remain sacrosanct. I wonder if David Bennett will be getting hate mail, rape and murder threats and be 'no-platformed' next time he wants to speak somewhere? I doubt it.

And even if he were, he probably wouldn't care. Older gay men have had to deal with much worse in their lives than transactivist tantrums.
