India Willoughby has had facial feminisation surgery

Apparently in response to online trolls.

And do you know what, for the first time I feel sad for India. It looks like brutal surgery. India said India had it done to be accepted as a female but that is never truly going to happen, if people are being honest.

The thing that struck me in CBB when India was jabbing India's finger at the woman present and yelling 'I am a woman' was how male India looked. There was a shot taken from behind and I read what I saw as a man with a ponytail. There was absolutely no getting away from the fact you were seeing a male physique.

I am still capable of feeling lots of other things for this individual alongside sadness but I do hate to think of people being so ill at ease with themselves.

@Snappity

I did not misgender India? I use they/them throughout my post to refer to India and he/him to refer to India's son. I think you need to re-read my post.

Also, threatening people is not a good look! Smile

EmpressWeaponisedClitoris · 11/07/2018 07:16

Here you go Snappity, fixed mine for you.

Yes. People can't change what they know. I actually feel pity for India now because I don't think India's ever going to get what India ultimately wants - people's belief that India's genuinely female. Miranda's view is far healthier.

EmpressWeaponisedClitoris · 11/07/2018 07:18

Morning SPOFS, how are you? I'm expecting my Sportacus running top in the post today Grin

SpareRibFem · 11/07/2018 07:51

Hang on snappity I thought female was the biological term, I know the 'acceptable' mantra is TWAW but I didn't think it was TWAF

SuburbanRhonda · 11/07/2018 08:10

snappity

But why haven’t you reported the post if you’re so certain it breaks talk guidelines? Why leave it to someone else?

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 11/07/2018 08:17

No misgendering there that i can see...

Just threats

Which is nice...

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 11/07/2018 08:21

Its the nest step...

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 11/07/2018 08:22

Next not nest!

SPOFS · 11/07/2018 08:29

I suspect Snappity is simply trying to threaten me into using she/her instead of they/them. I will be banned before I do that.

However, Snappity, even if I did call IW she/her, I still wouldn't believe it. I would only be doing it out of politeness, not belief. I do use she/her with trans women as a sign of respect; however, IW clearly does not respect women, so I do not respect them.

HTH Smile

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 11/07/2018 08:33

spofs

Nah

I reckon it was the 'him' referring to Indias son Grin

Its very early in the morning and snappity might not have had a coffee yet...

R0wantrees · 11/07/2018 08:37

India is female as you know. Misgendering her is entirely inappropriate. On this occasion I have not reported your post but deliberate misgendering is transphobic so someone else might.

Snappity do you ever reflect on your posts?

EmpressWeaponisedClitoris · 11/07/2018 08:40

Poor thing. Here you go Snappity. Brew

I think it's pretty clear that India doesn't want women just calling India a woman out of politeness or kindness. India wants us to actually change our beliefs & doesn't understand that facial surgery won't make that happen. It's very sad.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 11/07/2018 08:49

snappity is weaponising the reports system

SpareRibFem · 11/07/2018 08:54

snappity it feels like you're only on here to police us & insult us not engage.

SpareRibFem · 11/07/2018 08:57

Pressed post too soon

Engaging would be better, we won't always agree but we might learn from each other

pinklils · 11/07/2018 09:00

How do you actually know why she did or didn't do it? How much of a pathetic life must you have to lead to accuse someone of lying about their reasons for having brutal and expensive surgery. Yawn. She looks great anyway and always dresses real nice. It's sad people are so horrible to her.

R0wantrees · 11/07/2018 09:04

snappity it feels like you're only on here to police us & insult us not engage.

That's my opinion too & you've posted some very insulting comments.

Under His Eye...

EmpressWeaponisedClitoris · 11/07/2018 10:05

Pure nosiness pinklils, sorry, but is your username inspired by L Madigan?

BettyDuMonde · 11/07/2018 10:11

Snappity, we’ve had a pretty meaningful thread about the sadness and futility of conformity, whilst remaining respectful of India (and in my case, sharing a hero transwoman of mine, in a minor thread derail),.

Where is the purpose in coming in and policing polite language at this point?

Anyway, here’s Pete Burns in his early days in the public eye. One of the most beautiful GNC boys that ever lived, IMO. I was genuinely sad when he passed away, he was a big influence on this small town girl:

BettyDuMonde · 11/07/2018 10:18

Oh gosh. Darn YouTube and it’s suggestions!

Who remembers Marilyn?

Pressyne · 11/07/2018 10:33

Yes! I was talking about Marylin the other day (to make a point about GNC) he was disturbingly beautiful at that time. Depressing how much more progressive the 80s look now...

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 11/07/2018 10:36

Yes I remember marylin

Lord love him

Beautiful just beautiful

Fantastic times

MrsJayy · 11/07/2018 10:43

Oh I was talking about Pete Burns with Dd i was watching Totps1986? and dd couldn't believe he used to look like that and how sad his surgery probably killed him

Italiangreyhound · 11/07/2018 10:57

I've just seen a clip of India on This Morning. I think the surgery has made her look lots more feminine and also quite a bit younger.

The thing is I recon we could all look a lot 'better' (aka aesthetically pleasing/standard beauty image) with surgery, but I'd rather just find a way to be happy with myself. I can't afford surgery, I don't want the risks. I'm a 50 something woman and I look like a 50 something woman. India's surgery has made her look younger, IMHO. But why is that something to celebrate. It only puts pressure on us all to fight aging!

The other thing is that as an old skool transsexual woman I think India could be a voice of reason in this whole debate. I know everyone will not agree, which is fine. But sadly it is a lot about India.
