Ever single time. Every single time. Every single time.

I am being asked how men turn into women.

I say they can't. They turn into transwomen. These are men who change their bodies to be as much like women as possible, but are still men.

Every single time I teach pregnancy I am asked how men can do it.

Every single time we go through genetics I get a shocked response for saying "this is male, this is female"

Every single time I make any distinction between male and female I am asked "are you allowed to say that?

I equate being ordered to teach that men can become woman to previous generations of teachers being ordered to teach nazi race science.

I am quite sure I will be sacked one day

And by saying that Michael Lazarus doesn't count as trans because he's a cross dresser, Daim is being transphobic anyway.

Blimey anyone would think you lot had something against trans people.

Having Gender dysphoria is a mental health issue. It is an illness that is similar to anorexia in the way that both sufferers believe something that isn't true about their bodies, and both are disgusted by what they perceive to be true about their bodies.

It is not normal to hate your sexed body so much that you want to chop bits off or take hormones for life, as these things have serious and permanent consequences.

People who believe that they're transgender need good, unbiased talking therapy of some kind in order to help them come to terms with reality, to explore why they feel the way they do and to learn to accept the body they they were born with; just like people suffering from anorexia. Physical and hormonal options should only be seen as a last, extreme resort, if at all.

The problem we have Gasp0de, which roseandflowers demonstrated yesterday if you refuse to refer to a man as a women people will ascribe prejudice, ignorance and fear to you, no matter how little they know about you.
The proponents of this ideology seem to enjoy the feeling of superiority they thimk it gives then. It's the Grayson Perry effect.
They are cool with a Turner prize winning OBE autogyneaphile, so we are all uncool and uneducated.

Being out and proud of your ladies clothes wank fetish gets you a medal from the queen.

"Having Gender dysphoria is a mental health issue"

Not according to the doctors, NHS or the Government. Where are you getting your information from?

Sorry if I'm just repeating thing's that have already been said, but I'm only on page 2 atm.

Unfortunately, if I don't post when things come into my head, I forget them, which is why haven't waited until I've read the whole thread.

Science you are entitled to your opinion but as the law does not recognise being trans as a mental illness, and a person is legally able to change gender, it would be unethical to give this one sided opinion to school children.

"If there is a transwoman teacher in the school, then the children may well have questions about whether a man can become a woman. It is her duty as a science teacher to tell the children the truth, that no, a man cannot become a woman."

That, however, is not the scientific fact

"It’s like being asked to teach biology but any mention of evolution is banned."

No, it is like teaching physics and suggesting that it is based on particles and that waves do not exist when we now know of wave-particle duality

But seeing as the OP says this has never come up in the context of science
daim You really are hard work. Read the first post again. She says it comes up time and time again in the questions from children.

And read or listen to some of what Debbie Hayton has to say. A transwoman who is a science teacher. Or are you going to start calling her transphobic now?

Report
jellyfrizz · 12/06/2018 09:22

OldCrone are you serious? You are suggesting the OP should tell her kids that a trans women teacher is really a man?

That would create a hostile and intolerable working environment for the trans woman teacher.

If the trans woman teacher is 'out' then why would it? A trans woman IS male by definition. Perhaps it would lead to more understanding and acceptance to understand people's journey rather than blindly state that they are the opposite sex.

OK, gib and daims, if gender dysphoria is not a mental health issue, what is it?

Queer theory in general promotes "transgressive" sexual rights movements.

Gender dysphoria is listed in the DSM5 (the diagnosis and statistical manual of mental disorders).

Transgenderism, is not. Because transgenderism has many different causes, including sexual fetish.

Which is why being trans should remain based on gender dysphoria, not self id.

That, however, is not the scientific fact

gib Do you treat this sort of nonsense as something of a project? Do you set yourself a certain amount of things to say per day, despite knowing that people can read all the refutations for themself?

Or is your level of self deception truly this profound?

Battleax · 12/06/2018 09:26

Gib what are you on about?

Sex is biological.
