Let's meet up - find/start gender critical feminist groups

There have been a couple of threads recently about finding/starting local gender critical feminist groups in real life, see here and here.

How about we just do it!

If you feel comfortable doing so, please post your nearest large town/city and we can then contact each other by pm (after due diligence with an advanced search) and talk to each other at a local level, and then organise for groups to meet up in real life.

I'll start. I'm in the far north of Scotland so don't really expect anyone very close to me, but would love to find anyone who could meet up in Inverness.

I also know of groups who meet up in Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh who I would be willing to pass on your details to.

Many of us are quite rightly cautious of being out in public on this issue, but are simultaneously desperate to find like-minded women. If anyone has any better ideas for us connecting in real life, please post.

Think I could be near you @Pratchet

crunchymint · 28/05/2018 12:18

pickle THere are two existing Nottingham feminist groups. One for all women and one for black women. Both have women who don't think you can change sex in them. They are not radical feminist groups, more like socialist feminist groups.

picklemepopcorn · 28/05/2018 20:12

Thank you crunchy mint!

Theinconstantgardener · 28/05/2018 20:16

Also interested in anything in central Scotland, Edinburgh/Glasgow or anywhere in between. Who do I contact?

crunchymint · 29/05/2018 00:58

Glasgow Feminist Collective has been campaigning against the GRA. So seem as good bet. Don't know about Edinburgh though.

JessicaJonesJacket · 29/05/2018 11:01

crunchy I thought the Glasgow Feminist Collective was advising people to use the Trans Alliance responses to the GRA. Have they changed their position?

sashh · 29/05/2018 11:14

Waves to Companion42

I'm in Wolverhampton, happy to go to Brum as long as it is fairly central so I can use train/tram rather than drive.

I'm disabled and cant travel easily, so online is best for me.

We could use technology and include you in a physical group. That would also apply to Spain and others who are not near anyone else or can't attend due to commitments.

Maybe we could start with a national get together, I know that means people travelling but those of us near could help fund those of us who are further away.

Eg if it is London we could fund others train tickets. Oh and I have a disabled rail card so I can get 1/3 of train travel and an take someone with me at 1/3 off too.

Summerhillsquare · 29/05/2018 11:44
