Come on, you wonderful women, I’m making a last push here to invite you down to Truro, Cornwall. Come and hear Posie Parker, Miranda Yardley, Jean Hatchet and Judith Green speak. You know you want to....

Tickets still available at Eventbrite

Ironically, one reason I'm determined to go is because of the protesters. Not that I mind a bit of protest, I've done a fair bit myself in my time, but actually trying to no platform and prevent the meetings being held... That should be reserved for fascist groups only, not used to prevent women from discussing our position in a sexist society.

So I'm kind of going in protest against the protesters. Maybe someone will now go to protest against people going as a protest 😁

Getting excited for this. Can't wait to be in the company of you awesome people. I really hope we can wake feminism up here in the South West.

CorbynTrouserPress · 06/06/2018 12:18

I'm really looking forward to it! It's going to be great to meet so many people from here and elsewhere.

Good on Kens husband for helping the party bus get to the meeting!

Kenworthington · 06/06/2018 15:15

@CorbynTrouserPress the party bus is sadly fairly empty 😩 it’s so far just me and MissMode!

Kenworthington · 06/06/2018 15:16

Dh said he’s going to the pub! So I now have a spare ticket. Trying to get a mate to come

MayonnaiseNo · 06/06/2018 15:20

Protesting against the "No platforming" is quite a good idea. I suggest bring along some Jamie dodgers and a body cam. I bought one for when I attend a meeting, to record any attacks on myself or others by Trans activists, as they make so many threats and have convictions of violence against womwn.

Writersblock2 · 06/06/2018 17:24

Bump!

I’m (probably masochistically) on low carb again so no biscuits for me! But I think they’re a fab idea. Identify the Mumsnetters by the biccies!!! :)

Maybe all mners could wear a pinned ribbon or something so we can recognise each other???

MotherTERF · 06/06/2018 20:27

Up for a way of spotting fellow MNetters. Not so keen on wasting body cam 😳

CorbynTrouserPress · 06/06/2018 20:53

Or a witch hat badge, we can reclaim the slur...

Kenworthington · 06/06/2018 21:06

Where are we all going to find a witch hat badge!

Writersblock2 · 06/06/2018 21:09

Waterstones sells a pack of four amazing suffragette pin badges, if that helps! :D

OP posts:
Kenworthington · 06/06/2018 21:15

Ooh do they? That’s pretty cool

Kenworthington · 06/06/2018 21:17

Oh @Writersblock2 they’re lovely actually! Shall we get them en masse??

Writersblock2 · 06/06/2018 21:18

If you want to! I’ve got a pack and will bring my spares. :) :)

Now watch as WTS sells out! Haha.

RaininSummer · 06/06/2018 21:35

Trip to Waterstones tomorrow then it seems.

CorbynTrouserPress · 06/06/2018 21:35

The badges are lovely, I will try and get some. Match my broomstick...

Writersblock2 · 07/06/2018 00:07

If anyone wants me to grab them a pack just let me know (within reason, can’t guarantee my local will have many).

Okay, my Mumsnet messages are going a bit Pete Tong and I’m not entirely sure which of you’ve I’ve messaged (you may even have two messages from me). To make my life a zillion times easier, could those of you wanting to do the Mumsnet meet just send me an email via [email protected] with the time you were hoping to get into Truro for (if you can come any time say that) and then I can bcc everyone with meet up details.

Phew! We will get there :)

I’ve emailed you @Writersblock2 and I’m going to town this morning so am going to buy some badges too

Writersblock2 · 07/06/2018 07:34

@Spartacus - on it!

Pywife2 · 07/06/2018 08:34

Someone gave me a set of those badges for my birthday. I'll have one on.

I'm relatively new to Mumsnet so the whole jammy dodgers thing is a bit beyond me. I may bring chocolate digestives, if that's not regarded as factionalism.
