Leaping - are you OK with women describing their own oppression? Because the Women's March isn't. According to them, women talking about their biology is transphobic now.

Yes, that's the Women's March - describing women talking as transphobia. You couldn't make it up.

'to understand the reasoning behind the hate filled Tweets that have understandable upset a lot of people.'

There's never any point trying to understand narcissistic and abusive men. Why do they act like that? BECAUSE THEY CAN... for as long as they are allowed to by the rest of us.

So much understanding for male anger, FFS.
But we talk about our biology and it is “literal violence” OH OK.

GirlScout72 · 29/03/2018 01:42

Would that be Shon whose advice for school kids was 'suck dick and get tits early'?

Who four years ago was making a living blogging as a gay man in makeup. Who is still busy on GRNDR?

Shon 'loose headlock' Faye? Who finds street harrassment 'affirming'?

We see you and your womanphobic attacks Shon.

And we are Spartacus.

TroubledTribble28 · 29/03/2018 02:18

Twitter is for men who cannot have rational factual discourse with women, it's the platform they use to shout down to and shut us up. Mumsnet is our safe space to discuss important topics relating to us as biological women. Anyone who comes here from Twitter should take care to notice that even as the oppressed group, we biological women do not resort to even a third of the vile insults that the misogynists on Twitter use. We don't need to, we know we're right. Science NOT feels!

DarthArts · 29/03/2018 02:20

@LeapingLlama

Ok - I've seen a lot of tweets, on a wide variety of subjects that could be described as hateful and I report them.

To answer your question though I need you to be more specific.

What hate filled tweets do you mean? I can't "reason" something I can't reference. I might consider them to be beyond "reason" and simply be hateful, inappropriate, offensive soundbites.

This is MN not twitter and if you want to make a point you need to be prepared to ditch emotive language and provide verifiable data and information.

DisturblinglyOrangeScrambleEgg · 29/03/2018 06:48

DarthArts - Really, I'd like to know from understand the reasoning behind the hate filled Tweets that have understandable upset a lot of people.

You could ask the people who tweeted those tweets? Although if you try that with Shon you'll get blocked rather than answered I expect.

Honestly though, I think it's just that we won't shut up and do as we're told, and there's nothing they can do about that. People like Shon thought they could swan into womanhood, and obviously be better at it than real women, and that the real women would fawn all over them and worship him as their leader. When that didn't happen, he started on the bullying.

Hop over to relationships, you'll see the same story over and over with women and their abusive partners.

NoqontroI · 29/03/2018 07:40

I don't know how anyone who is a woman would wish violence against other women. Or anyone in general!

Stop muddying the waters. Its isn't women that are making these threats is it on the whole is it. Don't you get it yet?

@LeapingLlama

It's sometimes it's very hard on here to know if someone is genuine or not. So I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Have a read of this link below. It's a collection of some of the more major acts of abuse and violence towards women over this one issue.

It's not a collection of tweets. It's an analysis of exactly how women are being forced to capitulate.

Mogleflop · 29/03/2018 08:45

"Imagine saying to someone with a disability or mental health condition,
‘I’m sorry to tell you,
But you will never be like us’ "

The thing is, I'm disabled, I'm autistic. I will never be like "you".

This isn't a negative thing as I am still as damn valuable and as much of a person as you, but it is a qualifiable difference between us.

When did calmly explaining differences become a value-laden act of cruelty?

Hypermice · 29/03/2018 08:53

Wow. I can't believe there's so much hate on one thread.

Yes shons opinions are just hateful aren’t they?

You do mean shon right?

The person calling for the erasure of women? You can’t possibly mean the calm, measured, factual, science based ‘actually, no...’ responses on this thread?

No of course not, because that would be ludicrous. disagreeing with someone is not hateful toddlers and people with low impulse control don’t like it, narcissists don’t like it. Because they can’t deal with calm disagreement.

This is why no platforming is such an issue by the way. Back in my day (the late Jurassic) we would actively go and see speakers we disagreed with at university just to argue with them in a calm and logical way. We’d floor them sometimes. There was no whining about being triggered, we just sharpened our debating claws and demolished any racist/sexist argument with debate.
You no platform and you lose that. Youvjust get the nodebate shit and end up in an Orwellian nightmare.

If you have an opinion, or a theory, you need to be able to back it up with facts and reason. If you can’t, you need to entertain the possibility the you might, just might, be wrong.

Or you can block anyone who disagrees with you and keep pecking that mirror.

Next up, Alison Grant Milbank, a literary scholar specialising in religion and culture, Anglican priest at Southwell Minster and professor at the University of Nottingham has been next to face the weight of censorship and smearing from TRAs

Mogle I'm the same and I agree. I don't want an NT person to tell me I'm doing autism wrong. Actually thinking about it, a lot of women are told we're doing it wrong.

TerfsUp · 29/03/2018 09:10

Great poem, Hakuna.

waves to Shon. Sorry, Shon. We're part of a club that you can't join, no matter how much you want to.

Winewinewinegin · 29/03/2018 09:13

Also reposting this here. Don't feed the trolls/rise to it. It will be reposted out of context and spread widely. Say what needs to be said but with consideration for the wider picture:

I totally appreciate that people are getting very cross about the way some people are acting.

I also think it is important to remember that there are plenty of very decent and also some very vulnerable and targeted trans-identified individuals in the U.K. And across the world.

We do them, us, humanity and the rational compassionate debate sorely needed in this area NO FAVOURS by making generalisations about trans people that are sparked by irritation at some people's actions and goading.

Let's say what we need to say, but with respect, understanding and consideration for the wider picture.

Feigh - I just got it.

HomeTerf · 29/03/2018 09:29

So Shon Faye went to a traditional all boys school and got a job in the City.

So much oppression. So brave.
