What’s interesting is, Mumsnet is a really great place for reading about the everyday experiences of women.

Yes this is so true. Mumsnet is where I think to come to talk about the bits of being a woman that relate to my biology. Period pains, infertility, child birth, prolapses, child care, discrimination at work etc etc etc

Ellenripleysalienbaby · 28/03/2018 21:46

and just amplify your own self love, like a randy budgie pecking a mirror.

Sorry, but this really made me chuckle!

MsMcWoodle · 28/03/2018 21:47

Hey Shon Grin

DoroVallens · 28/03/2018 21:47

BC.

It's really bad.

None of these threads would be allowed there, deleted within seconds... Censorship at its finest.

BeUpStanding · 28/03/2018 21:48

I first came to MN seven years ago when I was thinking about starting a family... and despite deciding not to have kids, I have stuck around because it's the best corner of the internet for women by a million miles. Everything is discussed here, absolutely everything, and all by women. It's brilliant. And I am so bloody proud that it is allowing us to have this debate, despite what I imagine is hideous pressure from TRAs.

Another Flowers for MNHQ.

Sorry, reply button didn't work or I don't know how to use it properly!

Absolutely. And the dismissal of MN as a place of screeching harpies with nothing constructive to say is just total misogyny.

The thing is, people do debate on here. People do give alternative viewpoints. And sometimes they are very valid; I especially like hearing from transwomen themselves.

But no one, no one has yet been able to give a definition of woman that isn't circular, nor give any sort of coherent reasoning behind the statement 'trans women are women'.

LapdanceShoeshine · 28/03/2018 21:52

@BeUpStanding

I am so bloody sick of being accused of being transphobic when I'm really fucking not Angry

Yes, quite. Both transphobic & TERF are used so glibly they are meaningless Hmm

Terftastic · 28/03/2018 21:53

Thanks to this thread, I've noticed Shon has blocked me on twitter Grin Apologies, to Shon, for not noticing before Grin Grin I don't think I've ever bothered interacting with Shon on Twitter, so perhaps Shon uses the LM blocklist.

Shon is quite a piece of work. Definitely not much respect for women going on there. (Unless they're tranwomen of course.)

AnyFucker · 28/03/2018 21:53

This thread is what I love about MN

Mogleflop · 28/03/2018 21:53

Well, no advertising is bad advertising.

Keep driving gender critical people here by all means folks Smile

Lovelyusername · 28/03/2018 21:53

Ach Why don’t they just fuck off? Any transphobic comment is deleted, the ones that left to stand tend to say things like ‘a man in a dress cannot decide to be a woman’.

So depressing - is that woman are defined by? Livestock, long hair and dresses?

AsAProfessionalPenis · 28/03/2018 21:56

Vile person

AsAProfessionalPenis · 28/03/2018 21:57

We wouldn't want an endorsement from such a bike person so all is good

thebewilderness · 28/03/2018 22:00

3rd rule of misogyny: Women speaking for themselves are exclusionary and selfish.

These TRAs are mad if they wish to shut down the open debate on MN. It is one of the (very) few places we can discuss this. Whilst we are discussing it here we are not out taking direct action (ManFriday, emailing our MPs etc etc) so if MN towers bows to pressure we may be forced to take to the streets or, worse still, will have no choice but to drop anonymity and speak out in our name. If sufficient numbers of us are forced to do so then it will become increasingly difficult to silence us. Remember - I am Spartacus!

DarthArts · 28/03/2018 22:07

@LastGirlOnTheLeft

Sort of reminds of of the joke:

God created Adam, had a think and realised he could do better Wink

HakunaDentata · 28/03/2018 22:08

I'm sorry to tell you Shon Faye
You can't buy a womb or ovaries on ebay
you can never be an adult human female.
But you're a transwoman and that's not easy tale.
So be proud of who you are,
stop being bitter and harrassing women
just because they have an opinion

  • that won't get you very far!

Life's too short Wink

TheDukesOfHazzard · 28/03/2018 22:08

" biology cannot be discussed, "

On a site for parents, female dominated, and presumably with boards around TTC, pregnancy, birth, BF, miscarriage, etc and so on...

How does that work then?

holycheeseplant · 28/03/2018 22:08

I'm blocked by Shon and IW but I'm not by LM and I wasn't on terf blocker.

Never interacted with anyone except replying to Karen so I think that's how that happened.

HakunaDentata · 28/03/2018 22:09

*no

AreYouTerfEnough · 28/03/2018 22:09
