Listen back to Lucy Massoud on Radio 4 - she is stellar. She's on now.

Yes DjunaBarnes
They have been left in charge of the conversation - it's great that women's voices are finally being heard - just hope it's not too late.

nauticant · 21/03/2018 09:18

I suspect that the Today programme is uploaded to the iPlayer in chunks with a half hour-ish delay. I think if you go back to it later on you'll find the full programme.

DjunaBarnes · 21/03/2018 09:18

I'm also pretty disgusted at this Emily persons denial of the assaults on and harassment of women, they cannot not know about this and their inability to condemn assaults within the labour movement as a labour member (let alone in the broader context) is shameful.

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/03/2018 09:19

Someone please tweet the petition link to Lucy and ask her to retweet

Almost crashed the car I was laughing so hard at the end. Lucy was utterly magnificent.

Elendon · 21/03/2018 09:21

Okay. The segment starts at 8.45am. When listening on iplayer it's minutes only. So go to the end and go back 15 minutes. Hope that helps.

multivac · 21/03/2018 09:22

Interesting use of the word "too" from Emily, having just claimed there is "no evidence" of violence/threats against women: "I know that plenty of trans people have experienced it too"

Cuntysnark · 21/03/2018 09:23

multivac Good spot!

Golondrina · 21/03/2018 09:23

Is there any way to listen if you're not int he UK (iplayer won't work for me)?

Melamin · 21/03/2018 09:23

The last half hour seems to be back so worth listening again to see tha it is the same.

Pratchet · 21/03/2018 09:23

Did Wmily indicate he was actually against self ID? I thought I heard that

SmileyBird · 21/03/2018 09:24

What’s this about censorship, really ?!

NoSquirrels · 21/03/2018 09:24

Alex Andreao, who has 5.8K Twitter followers has been tweeting it was “transphobic” and when being called out on misrepresenting what a Lucy said is saying he’ll upload the clip and “everyone will see”...

Pratchet · 21/03/2018 09:26

No squirrels - I hope he does 🙂

OP posts:
Cuntysnark · 21/03/2018 09:26

Maybe we should start shouting back that they are femphobic.

NoSquirrels · 21/03/2018 09:28

So, anyone who is “out” on Twitter should add the petition to his conversation because he has so many followers, but all of whom are going to agree with him...

He’s @sturdyAlex

NoSquirrels · 21/03/2018 09:28

but all of whom are going to agree with him...

NOT all of whom ... Grin

BarbarianMum · 21/03/2018 09:29

He did seem to concede that one shouldn't be able to self-ID on the spur if the momement but didn't clarify any alternative.

Popchyk · 21/03/2018 09:29

Lucy is great. She has the Fire Brigades Union behind her so I suspect that the TRAs won't even try to pull any crap with her.

NoSquirrels · 21/03/2018 09:30

Someone should tweet the FBU the petition as well then!

Elendon · 21/03/2018 09:30

If that's the case then Emily is also transphobic. BarbarianMum

LizzieSiddal · 21/03/2018 09:31

Programmes are indeed loaded up to the iplayer on chunks. It should be there now.

LizzieSiddal · 21/03/2018 09:31

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/03/2018 09:32

Emily wanted trans to have to sign some sort of statutory declaration that they are trans.

So still self-id

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/03/2018 09:34

Yes, full 3 hours has now been uploaded
