Thanks. Edited? But that's mendacious

I missed this. Was it in the Today program?

Mouthtrousersafrocknowandthen · 21/03/2018 10:45

I just posted this on twitter @sturdyalex

Only she didn't say that did she. She is referring to what Stonewall call Gender Expression or Gender Fluid. This would put Lucy out of a job as a Gender fluid means a man using her changing rooms on woman days, this is not ok with her.

Pratchet · 21/03/2018 10:45

Thank you nauticant

@Pratchet

He's just taken Lucy's last contribution with no sense of the rest of the debate. Although I don't actually think it's as damning as he seems to think. She asks for a debate based on objective facts. The horror Shock

Datun · 21/03/2018 10:52

Yet again, these people think that other people can't read, or don't have ears and can't upload the programme for themself.

It's incredibly counter-productive to start complaining about a programme on a massive public forum, when it draws attention to that very programme and people can listen for themselves.

Why draw attention to it? It's such an own goal.

SuitedandBooted · 21/03/2018 10:52

To those of you who are "Out" on Facebook etc.

Here is;

1)the statement from the FBU, about the picket line attack

  1. A video of the attack (eek!)

  2. Jill Nichols Tweet - she's a documentary film maker with a good sized following .

Please share!

Sorry!

steppemum · 21/03/2018 11:07

It was great, very clear, no hiding behind PC speak, and Emily did not come across well.

the presenter was good too, at the piont about violence and harassment they gave Lucy a chance to detail it.

Mouthtrousersafrocknowandthen · 21/03/2018 11:10

Men are going "What the fuck?"

TerfyTheCuntingTerf · 21/03/2018 11:17

Red and orange, agree, every now and then there's a change of tack across the board which seems to come from the mothership. About six months ago, it was 'trans women are women' as a mantra in response to any question. Then #nodebate. There's a shift in direction which pops up everywhere overnight. It's deep PR.

Not even as long as six months, imo, since I've seen both TWAW and #nodebate come and go, and I only really became aware of the issue in January. The shift of language is interesting too -- from terf to 'transphobic', and the latter' losing its sting very quickly indeed and is already almost meaningless. Which is pretty fucking shitty for transpeople at the end of genuine targeted abuse. Law of diminishing returns.

LostArt · 21/03/2018 11:24

"Women with trans experience" amusses me. So am I a "women with female experience"?

The women with male experience didn't come across well, I pity anyone who may end up with them as a mp.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 21/03/2018 11:24

Woe, Lucy was great. Very articulate.

SuitedandBooted · 21/03/2018 11:39

I think that even the "Get me, I'm so right on" supporters, with their "I don't care who I pee with" mantra, are struggling a bit with some of the more out-there demands from the TRA'S.
Lily Madigan, as ever, is the gift that keeps on giving, tweeting how he/she, is a "Gay gal" now. Confused.
As someone pointed out to him, surely that makes you a man who likes girls, ie; straight!

Love this from Sandy, by the way Grin

Fascinating that Emily is blind from birth. A really good friend of mine (we used to own a pub together) is Peter White, You and Yours, also blind from birth. He has no idea what he's wearing!

NoSquirrels · 21/03/2018 12:01

Whoever it is on Twitter calmly arguing the case with Alex Andreou is doing a fucking blinding job. He just tweeted this as a reply:

Then the case must be made better. This is not what I got from this morning’s interview. I got bubbling hatred and an intention to demean. That’s just how I perceived it.

So he admits there’s a case to be made. And his perception of transphobia might be the issue...

BagelGoesWalking · 21/03/2018 12:10

Anybody on his R4 Fb group. Having a white interesting discussion. Sorry, can't post link, my phone keeps crashing when I try, for some reason.

“Woman with trans experience” is such a male term! Everyone pay attention to me with my interesting “trans experience”

Terftastic · 21/03/2018 13:18

I've followed Alex ever since the Brexit debacle kicked off - he's a good bloke - but yet another lefty who doesn't get it.

He doesn't like people disagreeing with him much - how many of these lefty blokes are like that? So many.

They have a "trans rights" thing in their heads - and in their heads it's exactly the same as the fight for gay rights. Therefore - they support trans rights, because they're good lefty blokes fighting for equality. (And the silly feminists are just being a bit silly and hysterical. But women are.)

What Alex and the rest of them just don't get is how damaging the trans gender ideology is. And if you try to explain it to them.... they call you transphobic.

We must keep battling on. Lucy was fab. If anyone knows who she is on Twitter, can you DM me? I can't find her.

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/03/2018 13:21

@Terftastic

Lucy is mobile.twitter.com/luluchops1?lang=en

Terftastic · 21/03/2018 13:27

Thanks Bore.

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/03/2018 13:32

I've asked on this thread in Site Stuff if MNHQ can invite Lucy in for a webchat

This is moving the trans word further away in the sentence from woman, making it less significant. OMG men use words as power don't they.

Next up is
Woman with cis experience.

In ya dreams maybe..
