Listen back to Lucy Massoud on Radio 4 - she is stellar. She's on now.

Cunty sorry, don’t understand your post.

SuitedandBooted · 21/03/2018 08:57

Yes! Loved the sign off.

Lucy:" This must be about biological reality, not feelings Men cannot identify as women on any given day."
TIM " That's ridiculous and transphobic"
Lucy - "Yes, of course it is".

Grin

Get her back Radio 4 - (and we must get her to mention the Petition!)

Ereshkigal · 21/03/2018 08:57

There is absolutely no lack of evidence.

AreYouTerfEnough · 21/03/2018 08:57

Excellent interview. The ending was so funny as well 😂

Dh listened to it too so now he knows what I’m so grouchy about these days.

Cuntysnark · 21/03/2018 08:58

Emily claimed to have seen no evidence of violence from TRA’s but dropped in that they’d seen it towards them. My observation is that they must be in a very strange bubble if that is the case. I can peer into twitter for mere seconds & I see truly appalling violence from the TRA’s.

Elendon · 21/03/2018 08:58

I thought Lucy nailed it. She's so confident and articulate. I'm loving the way young feminists get their views across, so clear and truthful.

For those wishing to re listen or listen the segment is around 8.45am. So about 2 hours and 25 minutes in.

UKLabour cannot dismiss the actions on the picket line last week. That's clear evidence of harassment and violence.

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/03/2018 08:59

Lucy was fabulous.

I have a feeling that some on the Today programme/Radio 4/ BBC are hitting peak trans now. They would never have run this a couple of months ago.

The tide is turning.

C8H10N4O2 · 21/03/2018 09:00

Loved her last word slightly off mic "It's not transphobic, you just don't agree with it"

Yes I'd like to hear that more often.

I'd also like to know what is this mythical process that Emily was talking about to ensure self Id people will all be genuinely people who feel their gender and body don't align. You can't discuss if putting self ID people onto all women short lists before understanding what the process is.

Elendon · 21/03/2018 09:01

Sorry 2 hrs 45 mins in.

SuitedandBooted · 21/03/2018 09:01

Another thought - is anyone ON HERE connected to Lucy in any way?

This interview may well result in more interviews for her, and it would be really good if she could mention the PETITION, and the lengths women are having to go to to have this properly debated.

She may not be aware of it - I expect she has a lot on at the moment!

TerfyTheCuntingTerf · 21/03/2018 09:02

Bloody hell. Seems like over the last couple of days there has been much much more coverage of this topic. Its blowing up. It's fucking ace Grin

Elendon · 21/03/2018 09:02

Also Emily misses entirely the point of Self Id, is this on purpose?

Winewinewinegin · 21/03/2018 09:03

Evidence all in the new fair play for women report by @DrW

TERF is not a word a woman's officer should be using.

And Jennifer James was called a cunt - but labour didn't care.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/03/2018 09:04

Echoed on all points. Lucy was marvellous.

SwearyG · 21/03/2018 09:05

The iplayer only has 2 hours 30 minutes of the show? I missed it - has it been censored?

boatyardblues · 21/03/2018 09:09

I’m having the same problem with iPlayer sweary - and I’m keen to hear Lucy’s interview.

NoSquirrels · 21/03/2018 09:11

Look on Twitter under #radio4today and you will see TEAMS of “transphobia” accusations.

SusanBunch · 21/03/2018 09:12

Just saw a white male gay academic describe the ‘rad fem’ on BBC4 as a ‘hate monger’ so headed on here because I suspected that she was in fact rather good... Said male academic spends most of his time tweeting about dogging and BDSM, all in the name of research, and I think the interests of women feature in about 0% of his work. No wonder he is upset that a group of men are being criticised.

Hesburger · 21/03/2018 09:12

Me too - only 2hr31 on iplayer...

busyboysmum · 21/03/2018 09:12

Loved the end - the absolute crux. Are we going to base laws on objective facts and reality or on subjective feeling and identity? That will reel in the men who couldn't give a shit about how women are affected. Will be tweeting that.

WeAreGerbil · 21/03/2018 09:12

Same here on the phone app, I wondered whether it's just a delay they have as you often can't get a programme just as it's finished. Still, I guess I need to get some work done anyway!

CapnHaddock · 21/03/2018 09:13

H as to get on a train so missed the end. Lucy was magnificent!

SuitedandBooted · 21/03/2018 09:14

I can't check now, but if it has been cut , I suggest we all contact MP's straight away. Particularly David Davies, and any Tories who aren't too keen on the Beeb.

juneau · 21/03/2018 09:15

She was brilliant! I loved it when she said 'You can't just shut down the debate by calling everyone transphobic - we have to be allowed to debate this'. Hear, hear! God it was refreshing to hear someone so eloquent speaking up for the views of every single woman I know. I'm sick of this debate being shut down by 'transwomen' calling real women 'terfs' and shutting down any kind of discussion with their name-calling.

DjunaBarnes · 21/03/2018 09:15

she was great, so clear and such a great communicator. it really also shows up the poverty of TRA thinking; they've been left alone in charge of the conversation, shouting 'transphobic' and not having their ideas challenged. it really shows, their arguments are badly made.
