Interesting and thoughtful article

Someone on here described current trans activism as cutting through goodwill like a buzzsaw, and that's pretty accurate. There's a hardcore of pomo addled young people who're 100% on board, but for most people all it's doing is making them associate trans people with manipulation, bullying, and hysterical overreaction to pretty much everything. Smart to separate yourself before the backlash comes, honestly.

infamousT · 05/02/2018 23:39

Hi NaturalWoman well, it's been quite the eye opener for me here - I would never have thought about hopping on before - indeed, never even visited before!

I was a single father for 7 years though - so I have some credentials. ;)

AngryAttackKittens · 05/02/2018 23:39

That's the one thing on which I think we most likely are in complete agreement, that postmodernism is pretty much the worst thing to ever happen to academia. Whole generations of people whose ability to reason has been shortcircuited.

infamousT · 05/02/2018 23:40

Wholeheartedly agreed AngryAttackKittens

It's left me wondering if I'm trans at all to be frank! I have SO little in common with these people.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/02/2018 23:43

I spent years keeping Manic Panic in business, and now I find myself side-eyeing anyone with candy colored hair out of suspicion that they might start babbling about Judith Butler. It sucks feeling alienated from what used to feel like your community.

infamousT · 05/02/2018 23:51

Oh that wasn't an anecdote TERFousBreakdown it was quite widely reported in alt-media.

I feel we've now moved beyond mere Left and Right now... it's about sane people and the patently unhinged and authoritarian.

As western Feminists are celebrating the Hijab - brave women in Iran are daring to take theirs off... again, this shouldn't be a difficult thing to fathom, and yet our MSM is spinning so many lies now people don't appear to know their proverbial arse from their elbow, preferring to be cosseted in comforting lies and diverted by the nonsense narratives of overpaid shills in the press.

Owen Jones says we are a homophobic nation.

The country that made international superstars of Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Elton John and Boy George.

Yeah. Right.

I think the UK is an OwneJonesophobic nation. People are sick to death with this (and his) vapid Lefty diatribes.

Oh - and I have such a story about Guardian Media, and the very beginnings of the Trans Rights Activist rent-a-mob. It was a set up, and they hung Julie Burchill out to dry wit malice aforethought.

I was there.

infamousT · 05/02/2018 23:53

AngryAttackKittens the hair is a dead giveaway - they might as well be wearing armbands... really.

Welcome infamousT your posts have been very thought provoking and quite terrifying.

I agree with your thoughts on postmodernism especially about the breakdown of societal structure. We are already seeing attacks on what it means to be a mother and father and the language used to describe them, mostly the former but the latter hasn't totally escaped either.

I hope you continue to visit this board from time to time.

Thanks again ladies. Provoking some deep thinking about the current state of affairs is all I can hope to do. I have no answers really - but I did see the rise of the transgender movement from the inside and have consistently pushed back for 5 years now - it's fairly safe to say I am generally hated for my stance.

I extrapolate, that's my problem - and I watch what's happening and imagine what the outcome shall be, and all I see is something truly awful for the future. It seems to me that the LGBT agenda seems dead set on sexualising children and getting them obsessed with sex at as early and age as they can - and I'm not entirely convinced now by the trope of 'born this way'. It could be 'inception'.

I simply don't think that kids should be indoctrinated in any way shape or form, it does them all a disservice - and last years Teen Vogue article encouraging anal sex in girls seems clear to me that they seek to switch the primary erotic target from genitalia to the anus, we all have one after all, and that alone would turn everyone kinda gay.

Eugenics. That's what this all is in my opinion, and I don't agree with it. There is a definite agenda, it's postmodernism, and it's a clear and present threat to society.

The so-called trans community is at best 1% of the population, and the tail now wags the dog... and our politicians seem reluctant to push back for fear of the nonsense word 'transphobia'.

We used to call these people 'gay transvestites', and simply - that is exactly what they are. They are remarkably cruel to those they don't like - but heck, you all already knew that, didn't you?

Igneococcus · 06/02/2018 08:43

I found the observation interesting that this seems to be mostly in the anglosphere. I found everything else interesting too but this kind of stood out for me. I follow the German media and besides the occassional trans-article in Bento, Spiegel's terrible youth magazine, there just isn't any coverage of trans issues, unless I'm looking in the wrong places.
What is the situation in other non-anglosaxon countries?

NaturalWoman · 06/02/2018 09:02

I feel like India might have started off this way before realising that just getting on with your life as a women does not bring with it glory and great TV gigs. I also get the impression India feels they should be at the top of the hierarchy having had a full surgical transition (and I get why) but has failed to realise they are at least 5 years too late for that now the female penis folk are running the show.

I agree with this.

I also think India is reeling from one major oversight - that women aren't all that highly regarded or respected and whatever privileges she assumed she'd receive as a member of 'the fairer sex' haven't materialised. Because they don't exist. If she feels she is being overlooked, ignored, sidelined, belittled, reviled, denied... welcome to being a woman.

Datun · 06/02/2018 09:04

I wish I could be famous for telling everyone I'm a woman. And hoping it penetrates.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 06/02/2018 09:06

I wondered at the time what the hell was going on there

TallulahWaitingInTheRain I was at the 'protest'. When they started burning copies of the paper in the street, I asked:

"What next? Her books?!"

I recognise fascism when I see it. I've been persona non grata ever since. A dangerous heretic.

I quite like the idea of the acronym OJEF, pronounced Oh, Jeff!

OvaHere · 06/02/2018 09:50

One small glimmer of hope for me is that British people have a solid history of pushing back, this in itself isn't always a perfect or well thought through thing e.g Brexit but it is evidence of the above.

The danger of course is that pushback could let in some unpleasant right wing facism and we end up as a ping pong between far right and far left.

rowdywoman1 · 06/02/2018 09:51

conservativeuterus
Sadly schools are deep down this rabbit hole.
Trans pressure groups have been training in schools for years. The teacher's unions and the NAHT all have trans policies written by the pressure groups. I suspect that many young teachers will be promoting that "a transgender woman is a woman".

Schools are meant to be politically neutral but these groups promoting eugenics / medical experimentation of children have been given a free pass to promote their propaganda - people think they're about anti bullying and being kind, but they're not. They're grooming this generation of children.
