Still trying to fathom how to reply to specific comments here - so apologies if I get muddled. I suppose I should be up front - point one is that Country Squire were the ONLY UK publication willing to publish my thoughts - and are quite a-hem Right leaning - but hey ho, at least the editor showed some proverbial cohunes.
I've fallen out of love and out of favour with The Left ever since Corbyn and his Neomarxist bully boys got into power, and rarely go outside now as I do NOT want to be mistaken for a 'transperson'. I have lost many friends on both sides of the political divide as things have become more polarised - I am not a fan of the EU, and am a staunch supporter of Democracy, the Rule of Law and Freedom of Speech, no matter how unpalatable - I need no Nanny to protect me from naughty words.
I supported 2nd Wave Feminism, and was actually quite a admirer of Germaine Greer in my 'guy-time', and was rather cut to the quick when I found out her thoughts on the subject of trans... though she appears more correct in her assessment as the days roll by.
I see 3rd Wave intersectionality as nothing more than a social cancer that serves neither women or men - as is evidenced by the 'centering' of transgender rights... I like and enjoy the company of Men - and have found that it is those accused of 'toxic masculinity' that are most accommodating, courteous , polite and respectful, (real men); whilst the smooth skinned camp 'soy-boys' of the Left are often utterly demeaning, disrespectful and sometimes downright insulting.
So, I'm quite the odd fish really.
I follow world events closely online, (been online since '96) and prefer 'horses mouth' reports on the ground to any of the puerile, vapid nonsense served up by mainstream media.
I enjoy playing Devil's Advocate, and actually couldn't care less about anyone's sexuality or creed or ethnicity - preferring to judge people as individuals. Apparently that get's right up people's noses now... everyone can find an axe to grind lurking in the cupboard with the skeletons - I'm more future focused...
If I don't agree - I speak out. Even if it is to my own detriment; which it often is nowadays. I think it's insulting to all the women I've ever known to claim to be the same as them - but conversely, I think it just as insulting to all the men I've known to do the same to them too.
I defy classification. I'm an individual. Just me - unapologetically so.
