Here's my post replying to Moth
Thats an interesting article moth. Best not on the board or MRAs would be all over it!
I was wondering today, hopefully, if the news about darts getting rid of the girls means the overton window is shifting and maybe p0rn will become less acceptable?
If not all this hooha about F1 girls and the presidents club is just tinkering on the edges.

Sorry to interrupt

Just seen an advert for a tv show called

Man vs child

Surely thats adult vs child

Stupid tv show Hmm

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 23/05/2018 14:18

Oooh nasty lighthouse

They are a bugger to shift

Ive got ds2 home...he is doing work experience and just started crying...poor little sod, i think he is a bit stressed

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 23/05/2018 14:18

Oh sorry...there was a link

He had a cold last week and i think he is still battling it

ErrolTheDragon · 23/05/2018 15:10

Poor lamb. (Or should that be calf?). How old is he?

Melamin · 23/05/2018 15:15

They are a bugger to shift The cold or the X friend Grin

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 23/05/2018 15:32

Both melamin Grin

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 23/05/2018 15:37

errol he is 15 at the end of the month

Its a mix i think of stress about the job, sheer boredom, loneliness (all in the job) recovering from his nasty cold and this morning he had a hospital apt

He needs very minor mouth surgery and 2/3 years of braces....not being able to eat what he wants and still having braces at college etc

He is just a bit down...but crying for 'no reason' is very difficult to deal with

Bless his heart...he is just my joy (like all three of mine to be honest) all 3 have/had issues...its just really hard to see them sad

Luckily they aren't sad very often Grin

LighthouseSouth · 23/05/2018 17:20

Rufus, sorry he's having a crap time

I think I should have had braces as a child but my sister always just says it's lucky I never had to endure it. Slightly wonky teeth though. Ah heck, it's not like I'm a model!

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 23/05/2018 17:23

Thanks lighthouse

He is quite a balanced child...but i dont think he is overkeen on this whole 'growing up' business

He is not going tomget a boring job when he is older...so work experience has obviously worked Grin

I said to him that my job is to get him to 18... and then he said 'and after that im the governments problem' Grin

LighthouseSouth · 23/05/2018 17:33

just saw this ruling and remembered something similar with a colleague a few years back

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-44213623

wonder what will happen next. with my former colleague, they had to pack their 25 year old's stuff, rent him a room and then he kept turning up on the doorstep saying it was all so unfair. I think they reached an agreement that he would live with them but be housekeeper. Lost touch as I went to a new contract - so no idea how it would work out but he wasn't doing any cooking of his own, that I know of.....

LighthouseSouth · 23/05/2018 17:35

Rufus, I think I was lucky with work experience.

will he get more than one? I got three. It was good to have a range of stuff to check out.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 23/05/2018 17:51

lighthouse

Its two weeks and either two separate places or one

Ds1 had two separate weeks at solicitors offices...thats what he wanted to do as a career so it was probably a bit more interesting and they put him in different departments

Dd did a week at a children's study center (she didnt sleep over but they did) and that was ok...and a week in a fish and chip store!! She only managed 4 days Grin

But its two whole weeks for ds2 and to be fair to them there probably isn't a lot he can actually do...and if his supervisor isnt there then i think its worse

It would suit another child down to the ground probably

Its a ridiculous system if you ask me Grin

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 23/05/2018 17:52

(Its basically to keep the year 10's away from the year 11's til after half term when official study leave starts)

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 23/05/2018 23:24

Dunno if terf is on here

But sorry again Sad

LighthouseSouth · 24/05/2018 12:19

??? Rufus

I'm ill and boooooooored

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 24/05/2018 12:22

lighthouse

Grin

Whats wrong?

Still that nasty cold?

Im off for a manicure and then 6 hours of work...now that will be boring!!

LighthouseSouth · 24/05/2018 12:26

yes, it's the cold
I got worried yesterday because I hit max use of my reliever inhaler but I seem to have avoided it so far today and it's nearly 12.30 so that must be a good sign, I hope.

it's such a bone shaking cough, my back actually hurts. having asthma is boring. And sometimes a bit scary!

hope you enjoy the manicure at least!

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 24/05/2018 12:29

Yes my brother has bad asthma

It can be very very scary

And so uncomfortable for you!!

I only work 6 bloody hours a week

But by christ do i whine aboit it Grin

Drives dh mad

LighthouseSouth · 24/05/2018 12:35

6 hours a week

awesome!

I don't know anyone else with asthma so sometimes I don't know if I am being weird or neurotic but reverberating coughs freak me out. I once had an attack on the Tube and a lady pulled the emergency cord and everyone looked utterly panicked....so I guess it's scary to see as well.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 24/05/2018 12:43

Its just that you cant catch your breath...at all

Have to go now Sad

Hope you feel better very soon

Waddlelikeapenguin · 24/05/2018 14:24

LighthouseSouth how are you? Asthma sucks & can be very scary.
Is the evil pollen a factor?

LighthouseSouth · 24/05/2018 14:58

Waddle, yes it is a factor but this is definitely lurgy related.

I was all right today - then I had a conversation with my boss. I managed the conversation but was not good afterwards! She is not expecting me till next week so no worries.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 24/05/2018 15:15

Hope you can rest up & get rid. We had a stinking cold a couple of weeks ago, totally wasted our holiday but somehow i felt the insult was in the beautiful sunny weather!

LighthouseSouth · 24/05/2018 15:37

Thanks Waddle

sorry you wasted your holiday. That happened to my mum - she and dad went on a dream holiday to New England with all the autumn colours, she looked forward to that for years - and got a chest infection Sad

LighthouseSouth · 24/05/2018 16:31

when you see Morgan Freeman trending and have to ask yourself which of the 2 possibilities you'd prefer..

and that's right after Jason Bateman makes the worst apology EVER.
