I'm a lifelong Londoner. Open spaces and parks are all "locked up" at dusk, or they have been where I've lived. Is that normal across the country? I am guessing not?

My answer is 'it depends'

If you're in a city, and it's an official park, within walls (so to speak - ie. within the town), with fences, and mown and stuff, then yes, often they shut for the night.

If you're talking about a more free-form thing, outside of an actual town, like a large country park, or public footpaths, then no (just watch for which ones are dogging spots)

yeah - I ad blocked once, but can't be bothered now..

This is why, in my work life, I make sure people have run stuff by native speakers before we make any firm decisions on names in foreign markets... I've heard too many horror stories.
