So the Green Party want to avoid discrimination against pretty much everything apart from sex: "RR207 While seeking to maintain equity in meeting people's needs, people have responsibility for ensuring the absence of discrimination in ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, language, religion or other opinion, age, national or social origin, economic status or any other social, physical or mental condition."

But the right to prostitution and porn is in there, so that's ok then.

I voted for this party at one point!!!! Never, never, never again.

I am an ex (Scottish) member.

Saw a worrying tweet today suggesting that there is a proposal to change for a man and a woman co-convener to co-conveners of different gender identities.

AttillaThePun · 28/01/2018 21:00

“RR204 It is humankind's responsibility to carry out only activities that enhance or maintain the quality, variety, diversity, integrity and wholesomeness of human society and the life support system. Those activities which are exploitative, or threaten either the well-being of others, society, the life support system or the future must be avoided.”

But let’s decriminalise prostitution because that’s demonstrably AMAZING for vulnerable women, society, etc?

DancingLedge · 28/01/2018 21:03

Slight tangent, sorry, but justa 's link had a link to
www.independent.co.uk/voices/i-wont-be-referred-to-as-non-male-by-the-green-party-women-have-suffered-prejudice-because-of-their-a6967926.html

which gave me the feeling of my feet touching solid ground , amidst a long IknowImlostImnotabigotbutsomethingsreallywronghere moment.

millionsofpeaches · 28/01/2018 21:12

Just who the fuck are we supposed to vote for now though? I haven't got a bloody clue anymore!

Not Tory, not Labour anymore, not the Greens, even though I really like Caroline Lucas, not the libdems and definitely not Ukip. What other alternative is there?

Justabunchofcunts · 28/01/2018 21:16

Dancing, thank you for that. Completely know what you mean about feet touching the ground

OP posts:
DancingLedge · 28/01/2018 21:27

Actually where are the Libdems on this?
Any idea?

Fortheloveofscience · 28/01/2018 21:34

Oooh just found this! I did renew my membership, I despise the ‘non-man’ thing, but am a die-hard eco hippy and for all the mess Greens have made on gender identity, I do still think they are a force for good and supporting their environmental policies is hugely important. I’m waiting to see how the Labour fiasco plays out as it may have some interesting implications.

However, it really distresses me how much time young greens devote to gender identity and ‘inclusiveness’ at the expense of actual policy.

seafoodeatit · 28/01/2018 21:43

Another former member, fuck their reducing women to those who menstruate and the like.

Justabunchofcunts · 28/01/2018 21:44

Forthove if you are staying, can you make your voice heard about the women's rights side of things?

Did you see the post about their rights list? Rights not to be discriminated against for everything except sex. There's a special section for traveller's rights, but discrimination on grounds of sex oh no.

Nature has rights though which I guess is good.

Dancing I'm pretty sure the lib dems have been transed. Anyone know for sure?

I used to vote green sometimes but no longer because I just cannot square calling yourself a Green Party, which I presume means the UK environment is your top priority, with a policy of working towards unlimited immigration. I mean say what you like about immigration and the economy but it's insane for a Green Party not to be critical of a net immigration rate of hundreds of thousands of humans per year, each and every one of whom, rocket scientists and doctors alike, takes up space, uses energy, creates waste and pollution, and creates an ever worse food production deficit such that it is impossible for us all to eat locally and sustainably without a majority of us starving. My old city's Greens are currently wittering on about reducing air pollution, whilst conveniently ignoring the fact that the huge population increase over the last decade means thousands more cars on the road, which will dwarf any other initiative they can possibly come up with, or will at the very least leave them running to stand still. Idiots. But yeah, back on topic, they sound gender-bonkers too.

clarinsgirl · 28/01/2018 21:54

I'm with millions. Just who the hell do I vote for when all of the mainstream parties have stances or policies that are diametrically opposed to my own?

Is it democracy when they all have the same batshit stance on gender?

Justabunchofcunts · 28/01/2018 21:57

Dunno. What's UKIPs gender policy?

Not planning to vote for them but curious.

Who else is there?!?

Morris, I found Rights & Responsibilities while searching for the origin of the non-man stuff, the latter seemingly having originated with some earnest youngsters; while laughable, I agree that it risks becoming TERF’s winterval.

And who needs it anyway when there’s so much wrong with Rights & Responsibilities.

UpABitLate, I’ve looked and I think you’re correct that there’s sweet FA about women. I found a mention of sexism, but it was disappointing:

Sexual orientation

RR500 Attempts to enforce heterosexuality are as much a violation of human rights as racism and sexism, and must be challenged with equal determination.

Given they seem to have abandoned ‘sex’ in favour of ‘gender’, I’m surprised they bothered mentioning sexism at all (if only to say it’s as bad as enforced heterosexuality or racism) as without the concept of sex, sexism has no meaning.

BlindYeo · 28/01/2018 22:08

I feel it might be unwise to mention UKIP Grin but someone posted a link a while ago. Definitely gender critical.

BlindYeo · 28/01/2018 22:14

Lib Dems:

LostMyLunchMoney · 28/01/2018 23:52

Thinking back to my last ballot paper - the only party (barring UKIP) that I'm not aware of throwing women under the trans bus is The Monster Raving Loony Party. I'll have a dig and if they're still ok on this issue I'll probably enjoy voting for them more than spoiling my ballot paper.

It's gutting that there is no credible party to vote for that is not actively working against my and my daughter's interests

Mner · 29/01/2018 00:06

I am a Green Party member, volunteer, voter and am gender critical. I am really torn on what to do as I like my local green people but am wary of actually putting my head above the parapet

Justabunchofcunts · 29/01/2018 00:30

Hi Mner sorry you feel that way. This climate of fear is ridiculous and not healthy for anyone. It makes me feel really uneasy on so many different levels. It's crazy.

OP posts:
OnLiamsList · 29/01/2018 00:44

I cannot stomach their stance on prostitution being just another job and an empowering choice.

Dr Lucas does not agree with that stance but she didn't do much to fight her party on it. She just doesn't mention the issue any more.

I now have no party that represents me as a feminist.

MorrisZapp · 29/01/2018 08:35

LibDems are worse than labour.

CecilyNeville · 29/01/2018 08:48

That Lib Dem 'Trans Manifesto' doesn't say anything explicit about self-ID. Have they said anything since? They have seemed a bit quiet on the issue over the last couple of weeks. They can possibly sense an opportunity to pick up some Labour women.

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 29/01/2018 08:56

Well there's definitely enough people here for a little club!! Grin

I'm waiting for the labour decision re AWS then I'll be writing to all of my local candidates.

Tbh I'm baffled as Greens (from the natural angle) make even less sense than Labour being pro trans (from the socialist angle). Shows how deep the cult has managed to worm itself into political thinking.
