Ooooh thanks for that itsallgoing. I am now following along with nearly 2000 others. We are not alone.

I am not too happy re the prostitution stuff either but there will never be a party that anyone would agree with completely. The gender/sex stuff feels more difficult to ignore as it is fundamental to who we are. If we can't identify as a group, how can we tackle other issues like prostitution.

Justabunchofcunts · 29/01/2018 11:28

Morris, can you expand re:lib dems? Are there links?

Would really like there to be a party with a balanced voice on this (and that isn't UKIP) but if not would like to challenge thinking.

Following with interest.

I often vote libdem regarding other policies and am very disappointed to find out they're as bad of not worse (I asked elsewhere on mn previously, but no links).

I have no idea who to vote for.

JC doesn't have the hero worship from me that my friends and peers have. And with increasing evidence in other areas. I think he's a great politician (past issues eg IRA and Middle East aside - actually quite bad when you look into it) but not a good leader. My Dh thinks he's going to break the Labour Party for good.

UpABitLate · 29/01/2018 11:53

I left lib dems over theirs ideas about prostitution and age of consent. Many of them are keen to "liberalise" who they can stick their fuck in for cash. No thanks.

I've joined and left all the "lefty" parties now I think! None are interested in women at all. We are 50% of population. Depressing.

Ekphrasis · 29/01/2018 11:53

My sister actually stood as a green candidate a few years ago and has abandoned them due to all this.

She's also wandering in the wilderness (possibly looking to set up own party/ be independent.)

UpABitLate · 29/01/2018 11:54

Stick their dick in!

Justabunchofcunts · 29/01/2018 11:59

Yes Mner exactly.

I've voted for them in the past, but won't be again. Same with Labour.

I had mused about voting Lib Dem but there are clearly just as bad.

Tory/UKIP - never in a million years... so that leaves nobody.

Ekphrasis - Your sister may be onto something, I would give her party due consideration, no doubt.

Justabunchofcunts · 29/01/2018 12:24

I would not vote UKIP. If the Tories got their act together on the GRA I would absolutely vote for them to stop the self-ID changes going through. Erase my right to organise on a sex basis against discrimination probably permanently vs up to 4 years of the Tories in power? No question I would choose the second as the lesser of two evils.

Umm ... anyone fancy reviving the Whigs?

BossyBitch · 29/01/2018 12:45

So who exactly can I vote for, then?

Labour has Stalineque-d itself out of the running, the Greens are no better apparently, I'd be struggling to find common ground with the Tories on anything if my life depended on it and the LibDems can't be trusted not to flip-flop on any given issue, thus making the question of agreeing rather irrelevant. I'm not even into the Whigs idea - way too economically liberal for my liking.

Also, I'm on the record as vehemently opposing voter apathy so can hardly not vote without copious amounts of hypocrisy being involved.

seafoodeatit · 29/01/2018 12:54

Most of us are politically homeless now. Let's hope that the conservatives are paying attention and scrap the GRA. I can't believe what I'm writing...

hipsterfun · 29/01/2018 14:08

No question I would choose the second as the lesser of two evils.

Me too, I fear.

OvaHere · 29/01/2018 14:16

I've always been a bit of a floating voter but have voted Labour more often than I have not. I find the party politics vs local community tricky when it comes to GE. Our last constituent MP was Tory and he was a genuinely decent bloke that did an awful lot locally. In the last election I wanted to vote Labour nationally but really struggled with ousting him personally. He did lose to the Labour candidate in the end and I sort of regret it for a multitude of reasons.

I'd like to think politics could become less tribal at some point.

Justabunchofcunts · 29/01/2018 14:51

This looks interesting. Not a political party but still. www.socfem.net/2018/01/one-womans-journey

I've seen a couple of tweets by LDs which state they are pro self-ID on women's shortlists too.

But I can't find them again.

That's where I am led to believe that they are.

Jo Swinson certainly is pro self-ID though.

JennyHolzersGhost · 29/01/2018 17:56

Just a quick note to say - if you feel no paety is adequately representing you and you’d like to send various parties in general a message on a specific issue like this, go to vote and spoil your ballot paper by writing on it what you think. Generally the major parties supervise the spoilt ballot papers process at the count and so someone will see it. If enough people do this, partic in areas with slim majorities, it should prompt some party organisers to think on.

JennyHolzersGhost · 29/01/2018 17:57

*party

JennyHolzersGhost · 29/01/2018 17:59

For example : ‘Greens and Labour, you are wrong re trans’.
Or : ‘Green party, I would have voted for you except for your stance on prostitution’.

Hope you see what I mean.

jeaux90 · 29/01/2018 18:26

I'm an LP member. Can't wait until this issue comes up in my CLP Hmm but I will rip up my card and vote Tory if they scrap the proposed amendment.

WeAreGerbil · 29/01/2018 19:07

I'm a long standing GP member. I won't leave but I've disengaged for the moment. I sometimes like someone else's gender critical comments on the GPEW FB page but that's as far as I feel brave enough to do.

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 29/01/2018 19:30

I've started calling them the 'non-red party'. See how they like them non-pears.

Lovelyusername · 30/01/2018 09:33

Place marking - want to join GP but can’t get behind their self affirm stance
