Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

You don't have to be feminist to post here, but it helps...

I've noticed that whenever a 'non-feminist' view is brought up, there are occasionally some posts along the lines of 'this is a feminist board, why come here if you aren't...', etc.

Genuine question - is this a feminist board, or a board about feminism? Obviously the majority of posters are feminist, but I'm not sure whether that is because feminists (surprise surprise) like discussing feminism, or because it is seen as a feminist 'safe haven'?

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 30/08/2011 22:10

Have conkers driven dittany out? Confused

HereBeBolloX · 30/08/2011 22:11

Yes it's outrageous to ask people who make an allegation to back it up isn't it.

Hmm

Let's all make random assertions without providing any evidence for the truth of those assertions

And then post random remarks saying the same disconnected thing over and over again.

It will be so interesting and engaging won't it?

Such a useful way to spend our time.

It's one way of making sure people don't come on the feminism board - bore them away.

You do realise that as soon as this thread gets to 1000, some crashing bore will start another one, don't you?

scottishmummy · 30/08/2011 22:11

i hope the annals of emergency medicine are being searched

scottishmummy · 30/08/2011 22:12

its well acknowledged mn diversion to ask for proof
and challenge any recall one had without a timed post to prove it

Having said that about the brambles, we did find a few lanes with lots on Sunday and I made a delicious frozen yoghurt with them. Found an ice-cream maker in the loft that came from my great-aunt's and have been testing it out.

Not hard to find - google conkers and toxicity - it's well known (well should be if you have children)

www.kiddiegardens.com/poisonous_plants.html

The weird thing about spiders is that conkers give off a vapour which is toxic to spiders (because they are v small). There are loads of threads about it

scottishmummy · 30/08/2011 22:18

are all conkers created equally or are there anti-conkers

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 30/08/2011 22:18

I assume that's sarcasm, claig...

Seeing as you asked sooo politely scottishmummy a quick google of conkers and toxicity would have given you this

scottishmummy · 30/08/2011 22:18
