Bad news about Beth Mead

Massive blow for Arsenal and England as Beth Mead has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in her knee.

Due to see surgeon in coming days when timeline will then be known.

Bad news for the England team as a whole :(

The one who did it to her didn’t even get a yellow card

I have to disagree. She wasn’t taken out. It was an unfortunate overstretch. Plus in line with the laws of the game, the referee could not have stopped the game because she was off the field of play. Which is why the medics had to run around and not across.

A big step forward and I hope this judgment filters down the leagues and across leagues as soon as practicable.

Gabby George is one player who I used to want for Arsenal Women! I think she would have had more of an England Lionesses career were it not for an untimely injury.

Ooh, and I see we've nabbed Gio back from her loan spell!

Shame we didn't see Gio play much due to her injury, best of luck to her, she is an exciting prospect.

What a shambles is the cancelled Chelsea Liverpool match. Why start and play for 6 minutes!

I saw that earlier. I imagine they were under pressure to play the game since it was live on TV. Still a shitty situation though, especially for the fans who travelled down from Liverpool to London to see only 6 minutes of football.

I agree. It's embarrassing. Firstly for the pitch to be unsuitable in the first place in the WSL when compared to the high tec premiership pitches. But secondly that someone thought a pitch was suitable when it really wasn't- that makes the women's game look really amateur.
