I have noticed in a few other matches that Man U seem to get away with quite a lot.

Bad news about Beth Mead

Massive blow for Arsenal and England as Beth Mead has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in her knee.

Due to see surgeon in coming days when timeline will then be known.

The one who did it to her didn’t even get a yellow card

@DuncinToffee it would have helped if the ref didn’t let them get away with constantly trying to take Beth Mead out (and finally succeeding). That 3rd goal wouldn’t have happened if the ref had stopped play after Beth Mead was taken out so badly they actually bought a stretcher round for her. The ref wouldn’t let any other player check on Beth and told the medics to walk round instead of running across the pitch as they normally do. Man Utd should have had so many yellow cards and they were taking out our players and then getting a free kick for it.

I have to disagree. She wasn’t taken out. It was an unfortunate overstretch. Plus in line with the laws of the game, the referee could not have stopped the game because she was off the field of play. Which is why the medics had to run around and not across.

I am really excited - the Tottenham Vs Man U game has finally been rearranged for midday on Saturday 11th February at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium! So we can still go Grin

Beth Mead wins the 2022 BBC Sports Personality of the Year!!

Just catching up with this thread. Thanks for posting that link to Gio's goal, @DuncinToffee. The way our injury situation is, we might need her back sooner rather than later!
Congratulations, Beth Mead. And also the Lionesses. Well deserved, and on a public vote, too.

fswaps · 22/12/2022 21:15

Yay, I am so chuffed for Beth Mead, the lionesses and Serena Wiegman!

IcaMorgan · 31/12/2022 00:10

Some of the lionesses have been made OBE/MBE inc Leah Williamson and Beth Mead

A good news story about maternity pay and conditions...

A big step forward and I hope this judgment filters down the leagues and across leagues as soon as practicable.

BellaAmorosa · 18/01/2023 15:18

Gabby George is one player who I used to want for Arsenal Women! I think she would have had more of an England Lionesses career were it not for an untimely injury.

BellaAmorosa · 18/01/2023 15:19

Ooh, and I see we've nabbed Gio back from her loan spell!

DuncinToffee · 18/01/2023 19:59

Shame we didn't see Gio play much due to her injury, best of luck to her, she is an exciting prospect.

A good 3-0 win for the Toffees against West Ham Football

What a shambles is the cancelled Chelsea Liverpool match. Why start and play for 6 minutes!

I saw that earlier. I imagine they were under pressure to play the game since it was live on TV. Still a shitty situation though, especially for the fans who travelled down from Liverpool to London to see only 6 minutes of football.

I agree. It's embarrassing. Firstly for the pitch to be unsuitable in the first place in the WSL when compared to the high tec premiership pitches. But secondly that someone thought a pitch was suitable when it really wasn't- that makes the women's game look really amateur.

DuncinToffee · 05/02/2023 16:38

Massive point on the road today against Man U.

International break now.

Great weekend for Everton! (I've forgiven the men's team for yesterday, since Spurs did us a favour today.) Thanks for holding ManU to a draw. Let's hope the Gunners can capitalise.

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I love Gabby George - always have done. A Lionesses squad place beckons at LB/LWB.

DuncinToffee · 05/02/2023 19:38

She is a fantastic player and WSL player of the month January.

and we needed yesterday's points more than you Wink
