Football has come home!

To build on the success of the Lionesses and the increasing interest in women's football, we are starting a brand new thread to continue celebrating the beautiful game Football

Enjoy!

It was a bit of a boring match today, but England have qualified for the World Cup now!

Really looking forward to the start of the WSL next weekend and going to each my first women's game!

DuncinToffee · 03/09/2022 20:32

I missed the match but saw the score, Russo on the score sheet again.

Was surprised the match was played at such a tiny ground. Still - a good result anyway

BellaAmorosa · 04/09/2022 15:58

Not the greatest match, not the biggest stadium, but England got the job done, like they always seem to. Very pleased for Alex Greenwood getting a start. She was unlucky to miss out in the Euros. Great job, all the girls.
Anyhoo, like Karen Carney said - world domination is the aim!

Great news!

Hello! I have tickets for Chelsea on Sunday and I'm excited.

wonderstuff · 06/09/2022 17:38

We’re off to Reading on Sunday, so lovely to be able to go to a reasonably priced sports event as a family!

Get it while it's hot, @wonderstuff. In a few years, we will look back fondly on this time, when two adults and two children could go to a game for the price of a single adult Premier League ticket.

I’ve got a season ticket to Arsenal this season so will be going to as many home games as I can especially the ones played at the Emirates

I paid £60 but also have a free carers season ticket with it due to using a wheelchair

IcaMorgan · 06/09/2022 21:28

Well done to England for their 10-0 win tonight

BellaAmorosa · 06/09/2022 21:35

Mine was £80 (I think) for an unreserved seat. For £90 or so you can get a numbered seat. Also you get entry to six women's games at the men's stadium. Arsenal Women v Spurs Women on 24th Sep has sold 40,000 tickets already, 65% capacity and all genuine paid-for seats.

abbarules · 06/09/2022 21:42

What a bloody bargain!

Loved the match tonight.. Grear fun to watch. Some cracking passing.

Found USA in team B… their next World Cup match is Friday 25 November against England!

BellaAmorosa · 07/09/2022 07:51

And we're playing a friendly against them in October...

Hmmph · 07/09/2022 15:15

Another great result last night!

I'm off to see Spurs Vs Man U on Saturday with the whole family. Is anyone going to Brighton Vs Villa or Everton Vs Leicester on Sunday? If they are, I think we'll have complete MN thread coverage of the first games. Would be great if everyone could report back on this thread about their games! I hope you all have a great weekend!

DuncinToffee · 07/09/2022 18:58

I will have to watch the Everton match via FAplayer as we live too far away. Annoyingly the men's match starts at 2pm.

New manager and lots of new signings, I am excited to see how the team will click and style of play.

Will football really be cancelled this weekend? Was really looking forward to it.

wonderstuff · 09/09/2022 07:20

Sky sports report saying they’re making a decision this morning.

Hmmph · 09/09/2022 12:01
