Hi MrWasheeWashee,
It was 2 chicken breasts not 3(sorry). But if they're 'free' points then surely you can eat as much as you like?

Yeah, i think I'll have to start counting the smoothies or stop them!

Lambbone · 26/01/2018 11:38

First weigh in today. Very pleased as I lost 5 1/2 pounds.

I see that as a measure of how much rubbish I have been eating, so while it is very gratifying I know not to expect to lose that much every week.

Big challenge coming up -going out for an Indian with friends at the weekend. Could blow all my weeklies in one sitting!

MrWasheeWashee · 26/01/2018 12:17

@Jakeyjojo ah ok 2 is reasonable then Smile

Yes, that's the theory, but as an extreme example surely 40 apples in a day would be a bad move Grin personally my crappy metabolism wouldn't cope with too much of anything, free or not, and my ability to overeat is why I've ended up on WW in the first place.

vonny29 · 26/01/2018 21:29

Back at Weight watchers online and really sticking to it but not losing as much as I thought .... however have just found out that the Lidl protein rolls I have been using are 6 not 2😱😱😱😱

acornsandnuts · 27/01/2018 09:06

Lots of great loses, well done everyone.

I'm two weeks in and not doing great with my loss, last week I lost 2lb this week I've put 1lb on so a total of 1lb in two weeks.

I struggle to use my points and went all out with roll over and weeklys at the weekend but never went over so feeling a bit lost. I don't have a load to lose currently 9st 12.

Typical day
Breakfast 0% Greek yogurt 0
Mid morning Banana or apple 0
Lunch Egg cress sandwich home made with WW bread 4
Dinner WW recipe one pan chorizo hash 6
Options hot chocolate 2
Coffee with skimmed milk x 4 2
Skips 3

Weekend (48 weeklies plus 23 each day)
Sat
Breakfast WW bread and scrambled egg 3
Lunch Chicken oval bite 8

Dinner Chicken Souvlaki at Greek restaurant 20?
Wine 10

Sunday total 35

I was eating quite low carb before I started so wonder if my body is just holding on to the carbs until it adjusts?

HoosierDaddy · 27/01/2018 10:40

acorns I am not familiar with the dishes you mention for your dinners, and I should say that I don't eat meat and egg anymore, but I think the plan is quite meat heavy/veg light. I don't mean your post in particular, but also what I hear in group when people talk about their week.

I know it is healthy protein, and free to eat, but I could see me eating a lot of egg and chicken with potatoes, but skimping on the greens. Might it be worth upping the veg in your dinners for a week and see if that makes a difference?

acornsandnuts · 27/01/2018 10:48

Thanks Hoosier. I actually don’t eat a lot of meat or gave quite small portions, it’s never the main event on my plate so I don’t think that’s the issue. I bulk out with spinach and home made coleslaw. I think I might cut out all bread next week and see if that makes a difference. Carbs have been my nemesis since having an under active thyroid diagnosed ten years ago. I’ve cut down on them for years but thought I’d give weight watchers a try as I bloody love carbs but it seems they’re still not for me.

sportyfool · 27/01/2018 10:48

@Lambbone I think chicken shaslik is the lowest thing in an Indian . It's not the most exciting but if you need to limit your points then it's worth a look .
I'm at a party tonight where they live food and drink 😬😬

NinaMarieP · 27/01/2018 11:12

Hello all! I just started WW last week.

I've done it before (never paid but my mum was doing it and it I just used her leaflets/booklets etc) and lost some weight but I'm now 5 months after having a baby and had a rough December with him... didn't get out much and the house was full of mince pies and crisps, recipe for disaster!

Anyway I've lost 1.5lb so far.

I'm gutted that sweet potatoes and parsnips cost points now, though, and that milk's so high in points when I can eat yoghurt, eggs and tuna for free!

I know there are loads of 0/low points snacks listed out there but they all seem to be stuff you have to make yourself. With a baby I don't always have time to go weigh/chop/mix/make up a snack so I wish I could easily find some ideas for low point snacks that are pre-made. My favourite cereal bars are 7 points each so they're obviously out!

Thanks Lady, I'll check out Alpen bars when I do my next food ship.

NinaMarieP · 27/01/2018 13:13

Food shop, obviously. I do not need a whole ship for my food, diet or no diet.

Paperdolly · 28/01/2018 04:07

I'm gobsmacked at how many points some 'healthy' bars and protein balls are!

I bought a slice of fruit cake in a cafe as it's said to be the better option for diabetics and it flashed on my App as 20...yes 20 points for the slice!!! I took a tiny corner off then gave it to my husband as a bonus treat. 😁

Going to hop on the flex train and join you all. I’ve 3 stone to lose and I’m hoping I’ll have most of it gone in 6 months. I’ve alwsys had fruit for breakfast so that’s a good start. Also drink 3 liters of warm water a day so another thing to not have to worry about. Snacking is my downfall & a lack of exercise . I swear I was a sloth in my precious life Smile.

vonny29 · 28/01/2018 12:05

Can anyone suggest a low fat stock? I thought I could make zero point lentil and vegetable soup but the stock cubes bring it up in points and you need them to make it tasty?

Dreamslongforgotten75 · 28/01/2018 15:05

Jeez * previous life not precious!

NinaMarieP · 28/01/2018 17:30

Vonny I usually forget to buy stock cubes for soup so I just flavour them with dried paprika/mixed herbs/whatever jars of spices I have in my cupboard.

I've been out for lunch today and blew 30something points on a burger. It's so hard to point up a meal out though!

How the hell do people manage on 23 points a day? I'm on 41 (I'm breastfeeding) and I usually eat most of not all of those even with choosing lower pointed food.

dorothymichaels · 28/01/2018 18:05

Hi folks. I've been on flex since 27 Dec and have lost 7lbs so pleased with that. I'm finding it fairly easy and feel I'm eating healthily. Still 2.5 stone to lose though!

I have a question. Weightwatchers leader says I would need to point the whole pack of a salmon with a pre-prepared marinade rather than just guess the amount of, e.g. sweet chilli sauce and point that. I think that's crazy... what do the rest of you do?? Why would it make any difference? I'm prepared to be wrong here but if you don't usually count salmon or chicken, why count it just because there's already a sauce on it?

NinaMarieP · 28/01/2018 18:13

I feel like that too, Dorothy. If you took your own chicken breast and added a marinade you wouldn't count the points in the chicken so I'd feel the same about a premarinaded piece of meat!

dorothymichaels · 28/01/2018 18:25

I am going to ignore that crazy advice then!

FitBitFanClub · 28/01/2018 20:54

Dorothy I heard my WW leader say the exact opposite just yesterday. She was talking about chicken and she said you only point the sauce.

WeirdCatLady · 29/01/2018 08:34

Hi all, mind if I join in?

I’ve been flexing for four weeks now. Lost well in weeks one and two but the last two weeks I’ve stayed the same. I’ve got 10 stone to lose so it should be falling off me. I’m using my points (always a little under but not too much), sticking to the plan so I’m Hmm as to why I’m not losing. (I have no monthly cycle so I’m not retaining water or anything like that). Getting seriously disheartened now Sad.

I’m doing it online and tried to chat to one of the online coaches but she didn’t have any answers apart from just stick with it.

sportyfool · 29/01/2018 08:53

That seems weird @WeirdCatLady ... your body may be in shock if you have never dieted before . Keep at it ! ...

sez49 · 29/01/2018 10:08

Weird CatLady I have lost over 10st now. My average loss works out at around 2lbs a week. I have stuck to the plan, week I need week out. Sometimes I lose a bit more and others I plateau for a few weeks.

How much have you lost?

Are you over-eating on zero pointed foods? Are you exercising? Are you drinking plenty of water? Are you eating your weekly points?

Whilst you have no monthly cycle, I have heard of some members still gaining once a month (a pattern can quite clearly be seen over a longer period of time). Our bodies are strange things at times!

sez49 · 29/01/2018 10:10

Week in and week out that was meant to say!
