WW 2014 support/b*tch thread

beachavendrea · 07/01/2014 05:47

Is there one of these already? I started WW online the day after Boxing Day which was the best or the worst idea I've ever had. I can't decide.
I have a lot of weight to loose and am finding it hard to get motivated, i have been sticking to my points, so thought I would start a support thread!

Wel done fluffy!!

Time, what do you normally get from the Chinese? I wish I could be bothered making my own but I'm so tired and got a yucky cold and so I prescribe myself a sofa night!

KosherBacon · 24/01/2014 19:48

Fluffy- great work! What did your leader recommend to buy?

We had steak fajitas tonight. Nomnoms! WW wraps, sliced lean steak, peppers, onions, Cajun seasoning and olive oil. I served them with half fat creme fraiche and point free salsa. Only 1pp on a filling and healthy night and 9pp if just counting.

Chewbecca · 24/01/2014 22:12

See fluffy, you can, and do lose!

I stuck to SS during the day at wrk yesterday, fruit & Greek yoghurt in the morning & JP with beans for lunch. It would have been better with butter and/or cheese but hey ho. Managed to avoid the choc and cake in office. Evening went a bit pear shaped, snacking at book club but some was on h&f list and I had no dinner, ony snacks so hope ok in total.
Today I worked from home & enjoyed a crumpet & banana breakfast and a JP & cottage cheese for lunch followed by fruit & 0% yoghurt. This evening I grilled gammon fr the first time ever! With a dry fried egg, mashed pots with spring onions & mustard & broccoli - nice. Have had a couple of Jaffa cakes too.

So, am nearing the end of my first week (weigh on Sunday eve) & it's he fairly well, partly inspired by this thread so thanks.

Chewbecca · 24/01/2014 22:13

Re: takeaways, I always found chicken kebab best, if you like it.
Curry & pizza a big no, no. Chow mein good but not really a meal on its own?

KosherBacon · 25/01/2014 09:38

Happy weekend! Here's wishing you all good luck to enjoy everything you want in moderation! Don't forget those 49 points are there for you to enjoy yourself and if you want to use them all up in one day, go ahead and do it.

Fingers crossed for those of you with weigh ins over the weekend too.

TimeToPassGo · 25/01/2014 16:03

Janie I normally get chicken satay, fried rice and a portion on soft noodles BUT eat half one night and half the next. It's about 15 points per half on the old Discovery Points but don't know what it is on PP.

Chewie I agree the thread is really motivational :) There are also some very good 5:2 threads running if anyone wants to find out about 5:2 - there is a whole board called fasting diets. Great tips and recipes threads too. Having a 'group' on here to share my WI with is saving me a lot of money on meetings Wink

Kosher happy weekend to you too! :) It's so true about allowing blow outs, it is definitely the secret to success with WW or any other diet plan.

Takeaway tonight plus pudding. Today is a planned splurge day so no guilt whatsoever. So far I've had beans on toast (3.5 on DPP), leek and potato soup with 30g pretzels (4) and 2 white coffees. Giving myself 30-35 points to play with today, maybe even a few more if I have a couple of drinks. One thing that saves me with WW is that I rarely drink anymore and booze can run through points pretty quickly depending on what you're having.

HalleLouja · 25/01/2014 16:56

Am on SS and am starving.

Today I had homemade fruit compote - which is a HD recipe. It does have sugar in it but I made it before starting SS and wasn't going to let it go off with plain yoghurt.

Then I had a wrap with tuna and sweetcorn I was strong and didn't put cheese on like my kids did.

I have had 3 little chocs.

Also a bowl of carrot soup I made the other day.

Am going to make the Hairy Dieters sweet and sour chicken which has a few cheat ingredients but looks yummy.

trainersandcake · 25/01/2014 19:24

I have had a weird eating day today! Woke up knowing I was getting my period (haha or 'star week' to use the slimming club lingo!). I had a lie in and then went for a little run but when I got in I started to feel weird - DH had made me avocado on toast but I had one bite and was really, really sick. In the end I just had two clementines because I felt so dreadful then lay in the bath for a while.

More than made up for it this afternoon though - I love salty, carby things kettle chips when I'm hormonal. But I think tonight I'll have some wine as I have been under points all week. Had houmous and crisps, avocado on toast that I actually managed this time, clementines and then half a pint when DH persuaded me to go the pub!

Tonight I'm trying cauliflower crust pizza - sounds weird but I love trying new recipes!

Halle maybe try more water if you're eating decent amounts but still feeling hungry. Ooh fruit compote sounds delicious!

KosherBacon · 25/01/2014 19:40

Halle- if you are hungry on SS why not try regular pro points? I'm never hungry on it. I've made the hB sweet and sour chicken. I did find it needed a bit more sweet and sour flavour if that makes sense. They use 2 chicken breasts for 4 whereas we need more than that so I upped that too.

Time- enjoy your evening. I drink far less these days since having DS.

Trainers- let me know how the pizza goes on. I tried cauliflower rice but I chopped it up unevenly so it didn't cook great- some browned whilst other bits were fine.

HalleLouja · 25/01/2014 20:12

I am doing SS this week then doing pp from next week. I think wasn't drinking enough today so hopefully drinking more will help.

I found the flavour not great on the sweet and sour. My least fave HB meal so far.

HalleLouja · 25/01/2014 20:14

The fruit compote is divine. Also made granola which I loved too. That was from pink whisk and not a diet recipe but doesn't look too bad health wise.

moonbells · 26/01/2014 08:24

My goodness! Just did first weigh-in and lost 7lb! Not surprised, the first week is usually big due to being a lot of water etc, but all the same!

Grin

Now the real fun work begins!

KosherBacon · 26/01/2014 09:43

Moonbells- that is an amazing weight loss, congratulations. I think I only lost 1.5lb in my first week!

Well last night we had a friend over and she wanted to try julienne courgette with her pasta and she loved it too.

I did have half a waitrose pain au raisin for breakfast, but I stuck it in my tracker so it's all gravy, baby.

KosherBacon · 26/01/2014 14:24

Meal plan done for the week! What are you all eating

Sunday- roast chicken breasts on the bone, roast potatoes, carrots, green beans.
Monday- Pasta bake with 1pp pasta sauce and reduced fat mozzarella. I might stir in some quark to make it slightly creamy.
Tuesday- bream (on special offer), small jacket potato, broccoli and another veg lurking in the bottom of the fridge just about to turn limp but still edible!
Wednesday- cheesy beans on toast using Warburtons brown thins and WW cheese
Thursday- fish curry and rice
Friday- Slow cooker mexican soup
Saturday night is tv and junk food night so we will be having buffalo chicken strips and jalapeno poppers. I wish I could get the cheese to make these too but I can't find it over in the UK mozzarella sticks

Lunches will be either a pan of vegetable soup with barley (2pp a bowl), sandwiches made with Warburtons brown thins or something like a quesidilla/ pizza made with a WW wrap.

Chewbecca · 26/01/2014 15:14

Wow moonbells, that's great, well done. Did you PP or SS?

I have meal planned & shopped to Weds now:
Sunday: roast chicken, wedges, salad
Monday: cod with lentils, peas & bacon inspired by this recipe (but without the butter & oil)
Tuesday: steak, some carbs (not sure what yet), mushrooms, onions, toms
Weds: chicken, peppers & onions with spices in wraps with tomato salsa & 1/2 fat sour cream

Breakfast will be fruit & 0% Greek yoghurt in office & egg, beans & crumpet at home.

Lunches will be jackets, salads, maybe a wrap one day, may e more crumpets. I struggle for sandwiches without butter or mayo.

Snacks: curly wurly & Jaffa cakes (plus fruit)

KosherBacon · 26/01/2014 16:24

Chewbecca- the WW dairy spread is 0pp for 10g, so enough for a small samdwuvh.

Chewbecca · 26/01/2014 17:45

I'm still on SS at the moment so just 'not allowed' right now I think? Will move onto SS plus 49 PP from tomorrow I think so I guess that'd work then?

fluffydressinggown · 26/01/2014 18:21

Well done moonbells

I have eaten far too much this weekend, so need to have a very good week because I want to lose another 2 pounds by Friday.

moonbells · 26/01/2014 18:24

Chewbecca I have no idea what PP or SS are! I'm just using the ancient Points system I have all the bumph for, ie one where I count fruit points.

So much for getting down first and then getting some nice new clothes. Just ordered a size 18 dress, need it for something in May so I have got to stay on track and get down a size or two.

I'm calling it my carrot.

It's my waist that's the problem, always used to be pro rata bigger than my other measurements before I had DS. Now it's much worse!

TimeToPassGo · 26/01/2014 19:03

Brilliant weight loss Moon! You'll be in your new dress in no time Grin

Had a fabulous weekend of feasting. Going to make a big pan of zero point soup tonight to get me off to a good start tomorrow. Have curry in the freezer for tomorrow night and will do our big food shop tomorrow. Getting some great ideas from your food plans loving the enchilada soup.
This is my heavy week TOTM so aiming for a stay the same. Anything lost will be a miracle!

Chewbecca · 26/01/2014 20:28

Well I lost 2lb this week.
My first week so kind of hoped for more but it's still a start & has convinced me that H&F does work.

TimeToPassGo · 26/01/2014 20:56

Well done Chewie Smile Do you do a weekend weigh in? Brave if so!

Chewbecca · 26/01/2014 21:50

Yes, Sunday @7.
Not ideal but time & location works for me & I figure it's the whole week that counts.

TimeToPassGo · 27/01/2014 00:06

I suppose if you are consistent it doesn't matter as you are always weighing at the same time. I like a Wed weigh in as it gives a controlled lead in to the weekend, at which point I pretty much eat what I want, then can have a lowish Mon & Tues to counteract the weekend feasting :o

HalleLouja · 27/01/2014 12:40

Well done Chewie.

For lunch I had a coronation chicken wrap (chicken breast, low fat yoghurt and curry powder) and it was delicious.

The roasted tomato and butternut squash soup was lovely too.

Not sure what I am going to cook for dinner. Depends what goes off first. Am going to make another batch of fruit compote. Its not strictly SS but not far from it and delicious.

In other news I have lost the plot and am going to try a HIIT exercise session tonight. See if it kills me!
