WW 2014 support/b*tch thread

beachavendrea · 07/01/2014 05:47

Is there one of these already? I started WW online the day after Boxing Day which was the best or the worst idea I've ever had. I can't decide.
I have a lot of weight to loose and am finding it hard to get motivated, i have been sticking to my points, so thought I would start a support thread!

I made my cauliflower pizza and it was really delicious!

I have weigh-in tonight - trying not to be nervous but I made a Burns night supper last night and am now feeling rather 'heavy'!

It is, I know, all about the long-term 'journey' but I still have that Slimming World mentality that if I don't have a loss, I have somehow failed - I guess I just need to get out of that mindset really! If I have lost a pound tonight then I am both under 10 stone (by a hair's breadth) and have my first half stone off - if so, I've decided to have a nice treat - but I'm not sure what, yet! Maybe a nice face mask and some bath treats or something? I'd love a massage but that is quite lavish for half a stone!

My leader suggested this brand as goo for snacking, she said it was available in Sainsburys.

I have had an egg salad wrap for my lunch, having salmon with veg and potatoes for tea. Having a H&F day.

KosherBacon · 27/01/2014 19:25

Fluffy- thanks for the tip. I put their popcorn in the tracker though and it is 3pp a bag where the Boots Shapers stuff is 2 points a bag.

Today is going ok, still keeping within my points. Weigh in is Wednesday and I still have 14 of my 49 extras left.

Good luck all!

trainersandcake · 27/01/2014 21:02

Ooh Fluffy I had that skinny popcorn on Saturday night, it is bloody gorgeous!

I weighed in tonight - two pounds off so i'm 9 stone 13!

HalleLouja · 27/01/2014 21:07

I made the HD fishcakes from the second book but with salmon. They were gorgeous. My son loved them.

Have put some of those metcalfe popcorns on my ocado list.

Well done trainers.

HalleLouja · 27/01/2014 21:27

You can make your own string mozzarella apparently Kosher Over here!

Chewbecca · 27/01/2014 21:28

Brilliant, well done trainers, and so great to get into the next 'band'

I'm struggling today to work out how to track - I've forgotten! Simple start last week was easy, but this week I need to track my 49 points & have lost count today already.

I wish WW would give weekly subscribers access to the online tools - it's such a rip off. There's no way to even look up PP for nutritional values.

beachavendrea · 27/01/2014 21:35

It's been a long weekend here but at my last weigh in I lost 1.3 kilos and they told me not to loose weight so quickly, I guess because I am breastfeeding and then reduced my points! Glad I'm doing it online as the meetings don't sound like my thing.
Anyway I am still going well having a few sweet treats. I went to a kids party yesterday and had a revelation weight watchers makes me eat like a normal person. My problem is portion control not really what I eat. I managed to eat party food I just controlled myself and Sydney shove everything that was going in.

HalleLouja · 27/01/2014 21:50

Stupid question alert. The courgette noodles do you fry them or boil them?

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 28/01/2014 00:05

Hi everyone, sorry I've been off the radar fur a few days. Well done on the great weight losses!

I've been very naughty this week, so stupid as I just feel so guilty. I've had a rotten cold and I've just been shovelling Jaffa cakes down my throat like there's no tomorrow feeling sorry for myself! I just shouldn't have bought them in the first place. If they hadn't been in the house then I wouldn't have been tempted!

Beach I'm also breastfeeding but the extra points seem like an awful lot extra.

I need to start afresh tomorrow. Weigh in is on Thursday so not long to right my wrongs, also my baby is getting his 8 week injections on Thursday morning so I won't be able to stay for the talk bit unless I go to the super early class...being somewhere at 8.15am with an 8 week old could be difficult!

Oh and I had fajitas tonight with left over roast chicken, ww wraps, spices and 0% yoghurt instead of sour cream.

Tomorrow I'll make zero pp soup and have it with a ham sarnie on nimble then making spag Bol from scratch so hopefully I can do a f&h day and steer clear of the Jaffa cakes! Xx

KosherBacon · 28/01/2014 06:10

Halle- wow, thanks for the link but I think life is too short for making my own mozzarella string cheese! You stir fry the courgette with a spray of oil, some s&p and garlic if you want it.

Chewbecca- have you thought of downloading the app that's recommended on the other thread? Value Diary Plus? It's a WW tracker for £2.49?

Janie- don't be too harsh on yourself. Your little baby is tiny and I didn't know whether I was coming or going for months and did her cravings for sweet stuff. Plus Jaffa cakes aren't that high in points. A whole box is 16 points, so you could almost have three boxes a week using your 49 pp extras.

KosherBacon · 28/01/2014 06:12

Oh and as for me, stupid bloaty mcbloat bloat aka TOTM is here. I desperately wanted to lose 1lb this week to get my 10% award but don't think it will happen.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 28/01/2014 09:13

Kosher you have made my day!! Thanks Smile

HalleLouja · 28/01/2014 09:14

Janie to be fair I was just happy to get through the day when each of mine was small. Let alone going on a diet. Well done you.

trainersandcake · 28/01/2014 10:12

Thanks Halle and Chewbecca! Weighed myself this morning (naughty) just to check I wasn't only 9st 13 because I had not eaten very much yesterday but it's still there! Definitely trying to think of it as getting rid of the weight for good hopefully this time it works.

Chewbecca I didn't know weekly members don't get the online tools.

Isn't it more expensive to be a weekly member though, or do you only have to pay the weeks you turn up?

beachavendrea · 29/01/2014 01:22

Janie well done for even putting the effort into weight watchers. Mine is 7 months and I am barely managing it.
It is a lot of extra points but I find I don't use all of them every day and when you start loosing they do reduce them.
Also I was super paranoid of ruining my milk supply but so fat it's been good.
It's so hard to loose weight while breastfeeding I just think its physiologically harder let alone when you are so tired you are just trying to make it through the day.
I aim to loose between 500 g and one kilo a week which is do small but I figure if I am going down its a major accomplishment.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 29/01/2014 06:41

Halle and beach thank you, that's really nice hear :) yes it's definitely difficult when you have a greedy baby and you've no choice but to sit on the sofa feeding! That really isn't my choice, it's his!!

Thank you, your comments have helped me not be so harsh on myself. I think I just want to get good results as otherwise I'm spending £6 a week from my maternity pay for nothing. But I've had a good day yesterday and will try to get out walking again today is if the weather isn't too horrible!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 29/01/2014 06:42

Oops that came out wring..of course it's my choice to breastfeed, just his timing can make me sit for long periods of time with Jaffa cakes beside me!! Note to self...don't bring the Jaffa cakes to the living room!!

2Labradors · 29/01/2014 11:12

Hi could I join?

I went back to ww last night after having a baby, he's now 7 weeks old and I'm breast feeding. I can't believe how many pp I get. I'm worried that I won't lose weight eating them all. Due to my weight gain I'm on more dailies, add the breast feeding points and I'm on 45pp a day. I had my breakfast and still had 41pp left, maybe I've not been eating enough. I've just eaten a ww bar and crumpet to use a few more points.

So, I have 3 stone to lose. This is my 3rd baby and the 3rd time I've been at this weight, I just can't wait to be out of my maternity clothes Smile

BornOfFrustration · 29/01/2014 13:17

Ahh, a nice busy weight watchers board, not ventured in this part of mumsnet before! Hoping one of you might be able to help me with something. I'm still breastfeeding a toddler that won't give it up. Usually about 3 feeds a day. Does that warrant the extra 7 points or not? I've not added them in, but I haven't been counting the milk in my tea, butter on toast or oil in cooking as a compromise. Is that about right do you think? Can't find anything on the website that fits my situation.

HalleLouja · 29/01/2014 13:18

Well today I am 10 lb 11.5 oz so that is a loss of 2.5 lbs. Was most impressed with myself.

I am sticking with SS and having the extra 49 points. Think that will work better for my sanity.

trainersandaches · 29/01/2014 14:10

Well done Halle and welcome to 2Labradors! I'm no expert but perhaps try adding in the extra seven points and if you find you're not losing, reduce them and take it from there.

Janie even if you're not starting to lose much yet, it's a way of tracking what you're eating and getting in the right headspace - then it'll start happening when you're good to go!

I am a bit annoyed that my digital scales have packed up in the same week WW ones were on special offer and I didn't go for them! Has anyone used the WW scales?

HalleLouja · 29/01/2014 14:36

Trainers are you sure its not that yours just need a new battery? Otherwise that's a pain in the bum. I like my Salter ones. They seem really good and do the trick.

My friend Bf-ing a 4 month old is averaging around 35 points a day and is losing around 2lb a week. Not sure if that helps but read on Kellymom the milk supply stays steady from 1 to 6 months.

fluffydressinggown · 29/01/2014 15:10

Hi Labradors and Frustration

I have been really good this week (after the weekend pig out) and I even went swimming last night so hoping I am still on track to lose some weight this week.

I am in awe of the people on this thread who have young babies and are doing WW, that takes a lot of dedication!

trainersandaches · 29/01/2014 16:41

Halle new batteries have done nothing, sadly! Have emailed as apparently they have a 15 year warranty.
