WW 2014 support/b*tch thread

beachavendrea · 07/01/2014 05:47

Is there one of these already? I started WW online the day after Boxing Day which was the best or the worst idea I've ever had. I can't decide.
I have a lot of weight to loose and am finding it hard to get motivated, i have been sticking to my points, so thought I would start a support thread!

Sh@t day, my 8 month old didn't sleep at all last night and then I weighed myself and gained 100 grams! I know its not much and I lost loads last week but its still dishearting and also my baby will only nap on me with boob in mouth today. I'm a bit over it all really so I had a chocolate bar. Talk about emotional eating.

Thanks for all the welcomes! My biggest downfall is not having food in. We didn't have anything decent in last night so my DP ordered pizza Blush usually I cook a WW recipe from scratch! The shop is arriving today and I'm going to batch cook and freeze some to avoid this happening again!

trainersandaches · 27/02/2014 10:35

Beetlebum I have found that on the days I don't have much food in it all goes to the wall as well.

We have started having shopping delivered on a Monday night (which is my Wi night) so it means I have snacks and meals for the week. I do fall down sometimes but it has made quite a difference!

craftynclothy · 27/02/2014 13:44

I started today with intentions of going to the gym. I even put my gym gear on first thing. But I had to do some tidying at home and the kids' room was so messy (with loads of little bits of paper and crap all over) that I spent most of the day giving it a proper sort out - it felt like a workout in itself.

My main problem is snacking when I'm watching tv so I'm trying to keep busy with other stuff. Unfortunately tv is one of the easier ways of taking a break from studying so I've got some packs of ryvita in to snack on.

annielostit · 27/02/2014 18:31

Well done on this weeks losses. Home alone today, been to the gym earned 4 pps. Now I want to eat them. Had a chilli with salad and a wrap, but bud light and s&v twists are calling from the kitchen. Thursday is the start of the weekend and its wine o'clock by this time. I shall fight it.

trainersandaches · 27/02/2014 22:57

I have been to yoga tonight which was lovely. I managed to do a pretty passable Plough pose (toes on the floor behind head) which I definitely couldn't do at the start of 2014.

Had some WW toffee and caramel popcorn for pudding tonight for two propoints, it tasted stale and was completely gross, I wish I had stuck to yummy Metcalfe's popcorn! I picked it up at my meeting as DH and I are watching lots of films at the moment and it's nice to have a healthier snack.

newlark · 28/02/2014 13:43

I've had a good start to today - fruit and yogurt with a tbsp of mixed seeds for breakfast then a wrap with low fat lentil dip and salad for lunch (am about to have a cup-a-soup too as still a bit hungry). I've had this crazy idea that I might try going out running next week and try to train for a 5k or 10k in the summer - would I be mad? I haven't run for nearly 8 yrs (as the last time was when just pregnant with my dd). The only exercise I do at the moment is walking (about 9000 steps per day on my pedometer with the two school runs and other bits and pieces around town).

SuperDuperJezebel · 28/02/2014 14:25

I went to the gym last night for the first time in about 5 weeks. Was dreading it because I thought I'd be rubbish at everything and not manage it but I did. Did intervals in the treadmill to build myself up to running for longer again, was quite pleased. Even suggested to DP that we go again tonight. Foodwise, I had a bit of a bad day yesterday. Having pointed all my meals for the day I was left with 4pp which I was going to save for the end of the day. I ended up picking and picking at a playgroup party and I think I ate about 9pp worth of crap I didn't even want. Ended up not having the lunch I'd planned, just fruit and a big drink, to try and limit the damage. Not ideal, esp as trying to save my weeklies for a weekend away! Today! I will behave and ignore the crisps after swimming!

fluffydressinggown · 28/02/2014 16:40

I got weighed today and I lost 1lb this week so that is 12lb in total. I am going away next weekend and I would love to have lost a stone by then, so hopefully I will lose those last 2lbs by my next meeting.

Then I want to try to lose another stone (and maybe a bit more :)) by my holiday in June.

annielostit · 28/02/2014 17:32

For those following ss/ f&h, do you think you can eat too many processed carbs- crumpets/sandwich thins? Today was crumpet poached egg, then lunch a sandwich thin with lettuce & prawns and cherry tomatoes also had 2 bits of fruit. I am used to sw and the no bread thing is in my head still…

trainersandaches · 28/02/2014 21:27

Whoop well done Fluffy! I am also hoping to get my stone this week.

Annie I personally think it depends on your body but for me, I wouldn't lose as much weight if I ate crumpets and bread. I think maybe I am a bit sensitive to wheat but even when I did my SS weeks I didn't eat crumpets despite the leader saying how great it was that they were included, I knew it wouldn't work for me.

I get bloated from eating them and I think it slows my weight loss down when I eat too much bread. I do have French bread and sometimes beans on toast but it tends to be on the weekend as a bit of a treat rather than for lunches. Maybe see if you don't lose as much as you were expecting and if so decrease the amount of bread and crumpets you have until you start losing as you would want to?

fluffydressinggown · 28/02/2014 21:38

annie I moved over to pro points because I felt I was eating too many carbs on H&F I do feel better for being on points now.

I have been feeling quite down recently and my DH surprised me tonight and took me for an Indian tonight. I did ok. I had an onion bhaji which is bad but I had chicken tikka and plain rice for mains so at least I avoided gloopy creamy sauces. I am going to guess it has used up all of my 49 weekly points but I suppose that is what they are there for. It was a lovely meal and I hope it won't stop me from getting my stone on Thursday!

BeetlebumShesAGun · 28/02/2014 21:44

Annie - another one here who can't "do" SS or F&H due to carbs. I know the theory behind it but it doesn't make sense in my head! Pointing works best for me as you can eat carbs but due to their point values you can restrict yourself a bit, IYSWIM.

annielostit · 28/02/2014 22:07

Thanks all for the carb comments, start again in the morning. Gyms planned and even nice dinner. Will point it then see what's left for the day. Thanks again enjoy your weekend.x?

icanmakeyouicecream · 01/03/2014 07:03

Hi girls, joined WW online this morning. Lost nearly 5st with them in 2012. Not got much to loose this time, about 1.5st but needs to be done in time for my wedding this December! Have a good weekend!

trainersandaches · 01/03/2014 11:13

Welcome icecream! And huge well done on the 5st weight loss, that is amazing!

I can't believe it is March already, I am going to go and have a look around the shops today and see if I can get a few new clothes as it was payday yesterday and I have been totally ruthless with chucking too-big clothes out.

I had my HoC colours done before Christmas and am a bright spring so I want to be ready with a few nice spring-ish items for when the weather improves!

craftynclothy · 01/03/2014 16:53

Annie - I definitely cut back on carbs when on WW. Actually I expect that's where a lot of my weight loss comes from. I do still eat bread - usually at lunchtime (with soup or egg) but I definitely cut back on how much I have (tends to be 2 slices with soup or 1 slice with scrambled eggs).

Can I ask, what is HoC?

Feel in a bit of a slump today. Think it's the drop in carbs combined with the drop in caffeine. I hadn't been drinking tea when I was ill and decided to cut it right back as I've been sleeping better.

Do you all meal plan? I'm planning to start this week but am struggling to plan because we now shop at Aldi and not a lot of their foods are in the PP tracker.

newlark · 01/03/2014 17:31

Hi icecream

I try to reduce carbs when I'm trying to lose weight and try to eat more protein instead. I can't do fully low-carb type diets as I find it too restrictive being nearly completely veggie but I do find eating smaller portions of carbs and larger of egg/quorn/tofu type things helps reduce hunger cravings.

trainersandaches · 01/03/2014 21:18

Hi crafty, HoC is House of Colour, it is all the rage over on the Style and Beauty boards!
I bought a coral dress and a mint green cardi today which fit in with the colours that suit me.

Newlark I am veggie so also non-low-carb - I have found a good range of protein foods now so that has helped me stay fuller. Plus apparently we only need about 25g of protein per day - portions of vegetables have between 3 and 5g of protein so it is easier to get protein than I initially thought! I do use chia seeds quite a bit as well, in breakfast smoothies etc.

newlark · 01/03/2014 21:58

I but the linwoods milled seeds (flaxseed, sunflower seed/pumpkin seed mix) to sprinkle on yoghurt/porridge to make it a bit more substantial - I worked it out about 1pp for the amount I use (about 15g I think)

STIDW · 02/03/2014 15:15

Haven't posted for a while. I reached goal in December and wanted to lose a few more pounds. After increasing the intensity of my exercise I've had difficulty stabilising and if I'm honest I find it easier to work things out on my own. I keep losing about two pounds a day and then after a few days binging although still under goal. Think I've almost got it sussed.

Well done to those who have lost weight and recently joined. If you haven't lost weight or fallen off the bandwagon just keep trucking and you will get there.

craftynclothy · 03/03/2014 11:00

Thanks trainers

Well I lost 1lb this week Smile. Hopefully will lose a bit more by next Monday as (a) I'm hoping to use the gym a bit more this week and (b) I expect my body was still recovering from eating so little with tonsillitis last week.

BeetlebumShesAGun · 03/03/2014 12:10

Well done to everyone who has lost and people who have joined, hello Smile

Weighed myself this morning and have lost 2lbs so that's not 1st 1lb lost! Another stone and a half to go to goal. Have a hen do at the end of the month so would love to have lost anther half stone by then. Feel very inspired and have meal planned and batch cooked to help me stay on track!

I want to start couch to 5k now the evenings are lighter, need some new kit first though!

BeetlebumShesAGun · 03/03/2014 12:11

now 1st 1lb lost!

fluffydressinggown · 03/03/2014 12:14

I need to get back on track this week, I have just eaten so much at the weekend and then I started today off with a scone instead of something healthy.

I don't mind if I don't lose weight but I really don't want to put any on.
