WW 2014 support/b*tch thread

beachavendrea · 07/01/2014 05:47

Is there one of these already? I started WW online the day after Boxing Day which was the best or the worst idea I've ever had. I can't decide.
I have a lot of weight to loose and am finding it hard to get motivated, i have been sticking to my points, so thought I would start a support thread!

Trainers- if your knees are sore it might be that your seat wasn't properly adjusted. Spinning should be low impact on them.

I had a very picky weekend too. I had a cheese board on Friday night and just tracked that I had 4oz. I'm not sure how accurate it was and I am sure I didn't eat that much, but thought I'd write it down just in case.

trainersandaches · 17/02/2014 14:59

Kosher I think it was the standing up out of the saddle while spinning that did it! I cycle to work every day so my knees are usually pretty good (but I don't usually just pedal away with my feet in the foot cages).

HalleLouja · 17/02/2014 16:08

WW meatballs were yum.

GeorgieWilson · 17/02/2014 18:23

Hi.
Yes still on maternity leave. DP is awful for constantly coming home with crisps and biscuits so between that and too much coffee and cake with other mums there's a good explanation of my lack of progress in the last month. Have found some willpower this week though and resisted the bad stuff! Hope it shows on Wednesday! Have found it very frustrating having no app though - hope it gets fixed soon!
I love the hd books too - made a huge vat of the chilli this afternoon to have with salad.
Oh meatballs sound good - will have to try them!

KosherBacon · 17/02/2014 19:05

Well I have been out for coffee and had a whole slice of apricot and blood orange cake with cream cheese frosting. It was delicious but my goodness am I suffering for it now. I've realised I've not eaten such rich food in ages and it's sent my tummy haywire.

Dawndonnaagain · 17/02/2014 19:23

Went to my second meeting today having tried everything in the past. I somehow managed to lose 4lbs this week! I thought I'd been a pig and probably wasn't writing things down properly! Oh, and I went out for lunch one day last week!

trainersandaches · 17/02/2014 21:16

Well done Dawn! 4lb is amazing, well done!

I lost 1lb which if I am honest I was lucky to 'get away' with that given the bread I ate.

Everyone in my group seems to have struggled a bit this week- I think the weather over the weekend has really got everyone down - it certainly made me want to give in and munch carbs!

Onwards and downwards though!

SuperDuperJezebel · 17/02/2014 21:52

I wrote a really long reply this morning and it disappeared somewhere into the ether!
I went to weigh in tonight and I lost 2.5lb which is a miracle considering how much unpointed toad in the hole I snaffled last week. That takes me to a grand total of 90.5lb lost. I never really expected to get this far, so I am pretty happy.

Resolved this week to be sensible again, point everything that goes in my mouth like I normally do, and go to the bloody gym!

KosherBacon · 18/02/2014 06:41

Another amazing weight loss SuperDuper. Congrats. You just be over the moon.

HalleLouja · 19/02/2014 15:02

Wow SuperDuper you really are super duper.

This week I lost 2lb which I was really pleased with. That's 6lb out a stone down. I think I weighed 2lb more a few days before starting WW so think that's 8lb in total.

Today we are having the spicy pork and rice (with brown rice) for dinner. Am cooking it now and having it later.

Then also going to make this laksa later in the week. Though need some reduced fat coconut milk. Mmmmm.....

Dawndonnaagain · 19/02/2014 17:21

Thank you, and well done, everybody else!

Dawndonnaagain · 19/02/2014 17:22

Waitrose do a reduced fat Coconut milk, Halle

KosherBacon · 19/02/2014 22:03

Halle- Blue Dragon do a reduced fat coconut milk too. It comes in a light blue tin. I think it only comes in 400ml cans though and I only ever use 200ml at a time.

I had my first weigh in today after missing last week and lost 3.5lb, so am now 24.5lb down. I have contacted my HoC consultant and pencilled in my style day at the end of April, as that is her first weekend, and have told her I can't confirm it and pay for it until I have lost another 3.5lb as it is my 2 stone reward!

trainersandaches · 19/02/2014 22:55

Wow Kosher! That is amazing! It is so inspiring that you have stuck to it and done so well.

Have you done the HoC colour day too? I did one just before Christmas and I was a Spring which I wouldn't have guessed in a million years.

KosherBacon · 19/02/2014 23:17

Trainers- I had my colours done in October. I went thinking I was either a spring or winter. I knew straight away I wasn't an autumn or summer. I'm a sultry winter.

SuperDuperJezebel · 20/02/2014 11:17

Can you freeze leftover coconut milk? Or make double the recipe and freeze half? I love laksa but I don't eat fish, really fancy a chicken one now! Finding this week hard, just want to eat everything. Saving my weeklies for the weekend so I can have a good old munch.

SuperDuperJezebel · 20/02/2014 11:19

I've thought about having HOC done but what if they tell me to chuck out all my favourites?

moonbells · 20/02/2014 11:58

Half of the having your colours done is confidence in how you look. You will always feel confident in your favourites so it's safe to assume they won't ask you to chuck them!

(I'm a classic spring, shouldn't wear black, but there's one top I have that I am NEVER throwing out because I love it, and it's mostly black.)

On coconut, I buy the solid blocks of it at a £ each in Tesco. The top of each block is visibly a different colour and is a large proportion of the sat fat; I cut that off and chuck it. The rest I grate and keep in a bag in the fridge, and add sparingly to Thai curries. 100g is 25 old points so I hate to think what it is in current measures! I usually ration myself to 10g at a time (2.5 points) which I can live with.

trainersandaches · 20/02/2014 14:08

I agree with Moonbells having your colours done definitely makes you feel really confident. I feel I am pretty good at dressing my shape so haven't booked in for my style day yet, but maybe when I'm nearer my target.

I found the actual day of having my colours done a little bit weird, the woman was said my face looked 'blotchy' and told me to dye my hair a different colour! I had an inkling that the HoC person was giving much more attention to the other 'colouree' and I later found out the other was getting hers as a freebie in return for a review on her blog.

That said, I am wearing one of my new spring colourway outfits today - very pale pink embroidered top, cherry colour jeans, beige nails and a cherry colour necklace, and I have had loads of compliments. So it obviously works!

My body shape is definitely changing, my bum is getting smaller and where I used to look quite stocky I seem to be getting more firm. So maybe my body shape will mean I need a different style of clothing!

moonbells · 20/02/2014 15:45

Be careful of pink. About the only pink that really works on a Spring is coral! (And on Autumns, for that matter. A redhead should even be careful of that!).

Having said that, coral really does work. Even though most blokes just think it's pink. I swore I'd never ever ever wear any pink, then I bought a coral jumper. (Reminds self of that meme where the woman has about 50 different names for shades of colours. The guy has red, green, blue....Grin)

One more thing I shall be growing back into in a stone or two!

trainersandaches · 20/02/2014 16:27

Ooh yes! My sister gave me a coral lipstick and I have to say it looks good on me!

this is my top: www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Oasis+Embroidered+lace+top/193678796,default,pd.html?cm_mmc=Google+Shopping--Product+Extensions+And+Listings--Oasis-_-_Oasis+Embroidered+lace+top&$$ja=cgid:7042413595|tsid:44970|cid:146504515|lid:41960968390|nw:g|crid:29474495275|rnd:251973252205857567|dvc:c|adp:1o1|mt:

It actually looks cream and it's not until I stood in bright sunlight I realised it's palest pink. Sorry to derail, it should really go on S&B! But since being on WW I have started to care much more about my appearance - sometimes I have a bath and paint my nails in the evening to stop myself snacking.

KosherBacon · 20/02/2014 17:17

Definitely get your colours done. I am having the style day because I just have boot leg jeans or knee length skirts and feel old fashioned. I want my new clothes to be more now, but know that skinnies etc don't suit me, so want some guidance on shapes to wear. I also want to update my accessories and feel lost.

Well I ended up going for lunch and eating soft tacos (quite low in points) but tonnes of guacamole (they mashed the avocado up in front of me) and chips. Oh well. I will just have a very low point supper (I'm not really that hungry either).

fluffydressinggown · 20/02/2014 18:29

kosher halle superduper - well done on your weight loss

I am having my weekly Thursday night stress, I am sure I have put on this week :(

HoC sounds really interesting, maybe when I am less fat and need an amazing new wardrobe I will try it.

HalleLouja · 20/02/2014 19:43

I love guacamole. I spoke to someone about nutrition and losing weight and she said guacamole is good.

Tonight I am having take away. Very excited Grin am trying to choose a f and h type meal

moonbells · 20/02/2014 19:54

well I just blew it. Chip shop chips and fish fingers. Blush All because I couldn't be bothered to come out of work, collect DS from holiday club, go home, cook, bath etc. Wanted to skip a bit and the only bit that could give was the cooking!

Think I shall carefully ignore the points and start again tomorrow...
