Just wonder how people's knees are faring? Mine feel quite stiff, although better after the 2nd day. Is it worth getting some knee supports or do you just used to it?

Well done bratnav!

prettybird · 08/11/2010 10:02

Never had a problem with my knees. Maybe you are not landing "softly" enough, ie through your feet before bending your knees, to absorb the impact? I did ballet for many years, so that is 2nd nature to me.

titferbrains · 08/11/2010 11:23

well doing it again today, will see how I feel. I am deeply unfit so think my body is still in shock!! will also try to be mindful about landing, tho difficult for jumping jacks...

Did it! but felt quite sluggish today, I think I didn't drink enough water before. Must try harder...

Joby1970 · 09/11/2010 13:23

I used to do the Shred a few months back & it got me fit enough to join a gym. I now go to that regularly but was missing Jillian, so decided to do start from scratch again with the SHred - did level one yesterday - wow - you forget what a force of nature she is. My thighs are aching today!!

Welcome Riven :)

I've completed Day 6 of Level 1 second time around. Unlike you, when I did it the first time, my puny upper body really hurt. However, second time round, I am using 2kg weights and hold on to them during the aerobic sections ('cos that's what you do in Level 3 anyway). I'm even thinking about buying some heavier weights Shock

I have now succeeded in doing 4 "real" press-ups (OK, 3 and a hakf Grin)before giving in and doing the bent leg version, so my upper arms must be getting stronger :)

Not sure about the back - maybe you need to take more care to keep it straight and to use your abs/core stablising muscles?

Re the starving: I think you are supposed to eat some protein within an hour to repair help build the damaged strengthening muscles. :)

Yay I was worried that this thread was dying. Planning to do my session before supper tonight.

Well done everyone! I am only on Day4 of level 1 but am feeling better already.

mrsissue · 10/11/2010 20:39

Can I join in please? I saw this thread a few days ago and bought the DVD after reading all the rave reviews on here.
Today I completed day 3 of WO 1 and my body feels like I have fallen down the stairs! I hurt so much but I?m getting better even though I hate bicycle crunches and push ups. I start WW a month ago and have lost 17lb so far and I?m hoping this will help me loose more and tone up. I bought some weights today as well so hoping to step it up a gear.

Joby1970 · 11/11/2010 08:32

welcome mrsissue - it does get easier I promise - well at least til u move on to level 2! ha ha

notyummy · 11/11/2010 08:40

Good to see this thread busy again!

Am not doing the full 'Shred' experience, but do it as part of my fitness routine - generally once or twice a week, as well as running, circuits and pilates.

titferbrains · 11/11/2010 14:36

had a bit of time to myself today during DD's nap but just not in the mood to exercise Sad so will walk down to supermarket with list and hope that fresh air energises me.

THank god sun has come out after torrential rain!

Shred Day 5. feeling positive although am worried I need to think a bit harder about reducing portions/food intake. I am not snacking and have reduced sugar intake, but still having a bit in tea and having normal yogurts. But will plod on with the Shred and hope that it makes up for my transgressions...

Joby1970 · 12/11/2010 08:37

Riven: when I was on my day two I could barely lower myself onto the toilet! Blush

I am going to by this and see what happens. I was losing weight then stuffed my ankle and have put on 10kgs.

Amazon here I come.

WookieetheChew · 12/11/2010 10:21

Reality you'll definitely see a difference in muscle tone. My arms, hips, waist and legs are leaner and stomach and bum are flatter/firmer.

Level 3 day 3 here, if DD ever goes down for her nap..
