New thread before old one is full.

OP posts:

bizzy - level 2 is a killer isn't it??? I remember that from the first time round....have just done day 8 on level 1 and while I'm ready to go on to level 2 I'm gong to stick to the 10 days on each level plan..

Didn't measure myself at the start, now wish I had! But I do have some measurements somewhere from when I started weightwatchers last year when ds was about 6 weeks old....so will be interesting to compare those to how I end up in 22 days Grin

detoxdiva · 09/09/2010 19:27

Busy even {blush]

detoxdiva · 09/09/2010 19:28

Blush even....doh..I blame Jillian!

BusyMissIzzy · 09/09/2010 19:40

Grin Diva

I took measurements before starting level 1, I don't think they were spectacularly accurate though. But apparently I've lost a cm or two off my waist and upper arms. The rest is the same.

Fimbles5 · 09/09/2010 21:25

Busy - 'Holy Crap' was an understatement if ever I heard one!! It was absolute hell - I must be really unfit as I struggled from start to finish. I must have done something right as I have not stopped aching yet and I finished an hour ago...heaven help me tomorrow morning Grin

BusyMissIzzy · 10/09/2010 12:07

Well, level 2 day 2 done. I also did 20mins of aerobics; it was hard after the Shred, but I did feel fitter, which must be due to the Shredding. I'm finding it's the cardio in level 2 that's killing me; in level 1 it was the strength exercises that I found hardest.

Also, I weighed myself this morning and, for the first time in a few weeks, the number was lower than the last time. Not by much, but recently it's just been creeping up (despite eating sensibly and exercising Confused), so I'm hoping it's the start of a downward trend, at last.

How are you getting on Fimble? And TrollyDolly, are you still with us? Grin

NothingButTheTeuch · 11/09/2010 09:46

DVD still not here! Sad

Fimbles5 · 11/09/2010 17:15

Well finding level two pretty hard going, but then having said that didn't find level one easy when I started (or when I finished) but was impressed that I actually managed to do a full pressup in level 2 so I must be doing something right. I am still concerned as to whether I have got the technique to some exercises correct but figure that anything has to be better than sitting on the sofa. Not tending to ache afterwards but sweating buckets (tmi sorry!!). Had to chuckle when I toppled during 'skaters' into hubbys whiteboard detailing all his current weightlifting results and 'wiped the slate clean' Oops!! Smile

detoxdiva · 11/09/2010 17:20

Grin at fimbles topple!!

Just done day 1 of level 2, and while I too sweated buckets - it certainly was a lot easier 2nd time around! Still can't do an unmodified push up though, although am finding the abs exercises much easier....just a shame the muscles there are hidden under a layer of fat Hmm

BusyMissIzzy · 11/09/2010 17:50

Oh I am absolutely dripping sweat when I finish (day 3 of level 2 here, then ran 3 miles). Fimbles I'm not sure my form's great either, but with level 1 it improved after a few days once I got more familiar with the moves, and got fitter I suppose.

I'm still struggling with the 3rd circuit of cardio. For the "double jump rope" I'm just doing a higher jump, I can't manage the double arm bit. The backs of my thighs felt really stiff today too. Did extra stretches after my run to try and loosen them up.

Fimbles5 · 11/09/2010 19:45

Shock at running 3 miles afterwards. Thats amazing, I have to hobble to the shower!! I can't manage the double jump rope either at the moment - I am doing as level one for five jumps and then one big high jump if I can manage in the hope that the high jumps will increase to double jump ropes...we can hope anyway!!

saltcod · 11/09/2010 21:11

just about to launch into day 3 of level 1 here... have missed 3 days though. Was hoping I'd be more motivated seeing as it's only 20 minutes, but unfortunately I'm still a lazy cow at heart Wink

notyummy · 11/09/2010 21:25

Well I had 3 weeks off any sort of anaerobic/ strength training like the Shred. Did plenty of spinning and running, so still exercising. However, since doing levels 1 and 2 back to back yesterday, I am in a fair amount of pain!! Did a Tabata session on the cross trainer this afternoon, followed by a 50 min yoga session in an effort to stretch out the pain, but tried to get off the sofa 5 mins ago and my thighs meant I had to go v slowly.

Due to have a long run tomorrow- let's hope my thighs can take it

NothingButTheTeuch · 12/09/2010 08:18

Jeez - some of you are hardcore Grin

I'm quite terrified!

BusyMissIzzy · 12/09/2010 09:35

Don't worry NothingBut, once you get Shredding you'll feel hardcore too Wink

What's Tabata notyummy? I'm already thinking of my "next" round of Shredding too. Was thinking of doing level 1 & 2 back to back for 10 days, then 1 & 3, then 2 & 3. But since I'm not even finished level 2 this time, I'm probably getting ahead of myself!

detoxdiva · 12/09/2010 18:09

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

Someone motivate me....sat here after huuuuuge Sunday roast earlier and really would rather just finish off the bottle of red that's in the kitchen......level 2 day 2 is calling me.....and I'm trying to ignore it Grin

BusyMissIzzy · 12/09/2010 18:37

Come on detoxdiva, you don't get those results for free! I want you to feel like you're going to die! Grin

I think a good compromise would be to do the workout, and then have a glass of wine guilt-free afterwards.

I ran 6 miles this morning and thought I was going to die afterwards. Back to Shredding tomorrow..

detoxdiva · 12/09/2010 19:09

Ok...'tis done. I feel very virtuous....may celebrate with a small glass of red Grin I feel particularly smug as dh has binned his plan of going to the gym and is sat on the sofa with a leftover steak and onion sarnie and a large glass of vino [smug emoticon]!

notyummy · 12/09/2010 19:24

Beat you by one mile Busymiss! Managed 7 with my severely aching legs - to be fair they eased off after about a mile! Wont have time to do anything tomorrow or Tuesday ( well, thats strictly not true as I could do something about 9pm each night....but I'm afraid thats probably not going to happen!)

Tabata training here. I do it on the cross trainer or with sprints outside - figure I don't need to do it with weights as either Jillian or Billy Blanks Boot Camp does that for me!

Disclaimer: Tabata training is HARD.

encyclogirl · 13/09/2010 10:07

skulks back in

I was doing so well, then I went away for a weekend, the entire thing fell apart spectacularly and now I'm back. 3lbs heavier, probably no wiser.

Why can't I stop eating crap? It vexes me greatly.

BusyMissIzzy · 13/09/2010 12:28

Level 2 day 4 here. I'm struggling with the last strength move; can't remember the name, but it's basically a squat and you lift the weights into a "V". After the first lot of that, and 2 lots of the other one (shoulder press while you balance on one leg and kick out - sorry I'm not very good with the terminology yet!), my shoulders are killing me.

Well done detoxdiva, you've every right to feel viruous now :)

7 miles notyummy, I'm impressed. Tabata looks pretty hardcore too.

encyclogirl you have my sympathies. I'd have had to do a lot less exercise throughout my life if I'd been born with some willpower where eating is concerned. I'm just naturally greedy (and naturally lazy, but somehow I find that one easier to beat into submission). 3lbs isn't too bad though, I'm sure you'll lose that in no time.

notyummy · 13/09/2010 13:04

Those V sits are a killer, I agree. My DH shreds as well and he also finds them really tough!

encyclogirl · 13/09/2010 16:23

Thanks for the vote of confidence Izzy. I must say I'm finding today fairly easy going. I had such a bad weekend of biffage it's actually a relief to be eating healthily.

Will Shred tonight. Absolutely 100%.

Day One level two, here I come!

NothingButTheTeuch · 13/09/2010 17:53

Day one level one complete.

Someone tell me it gets easier....

...please?

(on plus side, there is no way that can fail to do me some good!)

BusyMissIzzy · 13/09/2010 18:06

Well done NothingBut! It does get easier. I found day 2/3 hardest because I was achey from day 1, but after that it starts to get easier. And just as you're starting to feel more confident with it... you start level 2 and feel like crap again Grin
