New thread before old one is full.

glasjam - I do mine in the evening when the kids are in bed....I usually put it on during The One Show and then I'm done and sat down with a cuppa by the time EastEnders or Corrie in on Blush

Now on day 7 of level 1 and it's certainly a lot easier already - the only bit that gets me is the final set on side lunges with the arm lifts up to eye level - that was soooooo much easier with tins of beans...these 2kg weights are a killer on that bit Grin

I'm trying not to weigh myself - instead I've got a pair of old shorts (old = pre-baby Grin) which will be the true test of whether I've shifted some inches by day 30!!!

BusyMissIzzy · 07/09/2010 13:37

I do it at about 9.30am when DD has her morning nap. I prefer to exercise in the morning so I don't have to have an "extra" shower (god, how lazy does that make me sound? Blush). I've always been more of a morning person though; by the end of the day I just want to slump in front of the TV or MN.

saltcod · 07/09/2010 17:19

I do mine in the evening when the kids are in bed. Get changed while the-annoying-intro-that-you-can't-fast-forward is on! I've also started playing my own music which I find more motivating, although not always the right tempo!. Only on day 3 and a bit stiff but not enough to skip a session Grin

Hope I start seeing some results soon!

NothingButTheTeuch · 08/09/2010 07:42

Hi there,

Just jumping in! Am just about to order from Amazon (is on sale for £6-something!)...do I need to buy weights as well?

I want to lose a stone before mid-October, and have about 3 stone overall to lose...

I am trying to eat sensibly, and have been gong for a 20-25min power walk each day for a few days (and every other day for about a week before that).

I have even tried running on the spot Grin

Joby1970 · 08/09/2010 08:15

you can use tins of beans or filled water bottles - but you will get a more satisfying workout with weights. I bought mine from Decathlon

NothingButTheTeuch · 08/09/2010 08:49

ordered dvd and weights - I already feel slimmer and fitter! Grin

saltcod · 08/09/2010 10:13

Oops, fell asleep at 8.30pm and slept through so didn't manage to shred last night. I'm sure a night off is supposed to be good for muscle-building though Wink

tulpe · 08/09/2010 10:31

May I join you all please?

Having just struggled through 45 mins of Tracey Anderson, I have decided I cannot stand the woman and so need to try Shredding.......which luckily I bought at the same time just in case!

I dont need to lose weight necessarily, but my thighs are wobbly and my calves need toning. Would really just like to slim down my legs. Is this the dvd for me?

Joby1970 · 08/09/2010 12:00

it gives you an all over work out - so it means your legs should benefit too. My thighs have never looked so good!

potplant · 08/09/2010 14:16

Can I join in?

I bought the DVD about 2 months ago but have only done my first session this morning (the DVD player was broken for the first few weeks and erm, well I have no other excuse!)

I can't believe how weedy my arms are, I was struglling with the windmill warm ups! Its definitely a challenge, my arms are aching and my thighs and bum are tingling in a post exercise way. Not feeling much in the abs but perhpas it takes a bit longer to penetrate through the fat layers. Catching sight of my flabby belly wobbling during the star jumps is enough to keep me motivated.

One question though - do I really have to do it every day? Weekdays aren't a problem but I think I might struggle with weekends. If I have two days off will I undo all the good work?

LostGirl · 08/09/2010 14:49

Of course not, as long as you are doing it regularly, 3-4 times a week then you will see results.

potplant · 08/09/2010 15:24

Thanks - I could definitely do 4 days a week.

What weights are you supposed to use? I have 1kg ones (see previous comments re weedy arms) I don't think I could do any of the exercises with anything heavier.

ViveLeCliche · 08/09/2010 15:59

Nothing Mine is ordered on it's way to me too. My muscles are already quivering with fear at its imminent arrival. Think I might start an anonymous blog with my measurements on to motivate me.

BusyMissIzzy · 08/09/2010 16:30

potplant I use 1kg weights and that seems more than enough for a beginner.

Did level 1 day 10 today, and watched level 2 through in preparation for tomorrow. It looks difficult . The moves definitely look more technically advanced; watching level 1 it seemed like I'd pick it up quite easily, but with level 2 I think I'll have to do it once or twice before I get the hang of it.

NothingButTheTeuch · 08/09/2010 16:43

have roped others in too [cackle].

I need to fill the days until it arrives though - today I went for a march with baby in double buggy, toddler on bike (progressing to both in buggy with bike on top!) for 1.5 hours. The pace wasn't great, but the load was, and I had hills... My pedomoeter says I did 8,967 steps and I am pretty sure you are meant to target 10,000!

I should do measurements shouldn't I? I am frightened to write them down though...

Fimbles5 · 08/09/2010 21:20

BusyMissIzzy - I am with you so will be thinking of you tomorrow. Have just completed day 10, level 1 with 1kg weights (so I am weedy too!!). I was looking forward to tomorrow, keen for a change of routine but having read your post am feeling a little nervous now. Good Luck!!

Fimbles5 · 08/09/2010 21:21

Oops sorry Busy - just re-read post. I hope you didn't think I was implying you were 'weedy', I have just realised it was potplant that felt she was weedy for only using 1kg Blush

trumpton · 09/09/2010 08:38

Back into 30 Day. Finished with wonderful results mid May but ....Oh dearie me ...seemed to have grown back into my bigger trousers.
So day 1 , level 1 done. I do mine in morning as it gives me the feel good to eat properly all day. Here we go.....
Have holiday booked for 13th Oct so will do every day....

trumpton · 09/09/2010 08:44

This was my post on completing Sred first time round

Fri 21-May-10 08:47:03

TAHDAH! Day 30 done. I am sitting here with sweat trickling down my face and a huge smile as well. 1 week til we go away and measurments are

Weight loss not as much as I thought /wanted but still a respectable 5lb over the month.

Definately a size down in clothes !!
Will be doing this until I go away and am cheering on the rest of you......YOU GO GIRLS !!

Good luck all of you....and me!

notyummy · 09/09/2010 08:48

Hello all - I haven't posted for ages as I have been away and then on the Dukan for a few days, so not feeling like exercising properly. Have dropped 6 lbs, which is wanted I wanted to, and am now back into the swing of things.

Levels 1 and 2 tonight!

Waves at Monkeysmama - press-ups should burn in shoulders, chest; possibly upper arm as well.

Well done to all of you just starting out. It seems like taking measurements is a good thing - all the people on this thread that did that seem to be able to measure progress effectively.

BusyMissIzzy · 09/09/2010 09:54

No worries Fimbles Grin I'm currently waiting for DD to have a nap so I can get Shredding... I'll post later on with how I get on

trumpton if I get results like yours I'll be well pleased. Good on you!

potplant · 09/09/2010 14:05

Day 2 completed YAY! I can't say it was any easier but I'm aching everywhere so it must be doing something. Will do it tomorrow then have a couple of days off over the weekend.

I never thought about taking measurements I've only weighed myself. I'd like to lose a stone but I would be very happy with inch loss like Trumpton.

ShirleyKnot · 09/09/2010 15:28

I am due to do day 4 of this nightmare tonight.

Everything, and I mean everything hurts.

I want to invite Jillian's neck to the party and do something awful to it.

Joby1970 · 09/09/2010 15:57

shirleyknot - love the post hilarious! trust me you'll come to love Jillian - some of us even have a girlie crush on her Blush

BusyMissIzzy · 09/09/2010 18:51

Holy crap, level 2 was pretty intense. By the last cardio circuit I could only manage the easier versions on the second time round. I think I might do some extra stretches this evening to avoid too much pain tomorrow. I'm already dreading what level 3 is going to be like.
