Level 1 day 5 done here too. glasjam it is hard, but totally doable. I had a baby 5 months ago so I'm nowhere near fit. Getting gradually fitter though.. I'm quite enjoying it actually; the 20 minutes seems to pass quickly.

sprogger well done on fitting into your milestone trousers, it's a great feeling isn't it? :)

thumbwitch · 25/08/2010 12:40

Wah! Am finding it impossible to fit in while staying at Dad's, might have to put it on hold completely until I get back to Australia Blush. Just marking my place so I don't lose the thread (although I am Watching it as well.)

happilyeverafter · 25/08/2010 23:08

I've done day 1, workout 2 today. It seemed much more technical than level one and I wasn't confident I was following it correctly at times. The walking press ups were fun but the twisty jump things hurt!

This level I found the moves more complex and required more coordination.

glasjam · 26/08/2010 12:57

OK I'll get this weekend away over with and get cracking next week (gulp)... Have lost 3 stone in past year so desperately need to get toning and build muscle.

Loujalou · 27/08/2010 09:19

Wow Glasjam that is a lot of weight to lose. Well done.

I am hopefully going to get the DVD today or tomorrow so I can give it a go. Am still tired after my run yesterday.

encyclogirl · 27/08/2010 10:21

I will re-start on Monday. This week has been a bit of a write off to be honest. Managed it twice, but we're away this weekend so...

jbg · 27/08/2010 17:18

Hi, Can I join too? I've read through most of this thread and everyone seems very motivated - I'm feeling inspired!

I plan to start 30 Day Shred on 1st Sept so will spend the next 3 days getting motivated. I have a friend's wedding on 9th Oct and I'd like to feel good and be more toned for that.

At the gym I do 3-4 spin classes per week. Toning classes are all too late for me so hopefully this will do the trick. I also like Tracey Anderson's Mat Workout, esp the weightless arms and standing abs sections.

Good luck all.

Loujalou · 27/08/2010 20:37

I think I need some proper weights to get full benefit. Managed to get through level one in one piece am very sweaty though. I do a class at the gym which is hard core and that is not too dissimilar apart from the mixing it up in circuits.

Agghhhh....have fallen off the wagon.....been away at friends and family's for the past week and now home have lost my motivation Blush

I will get back into it after the weekend - friends here and I'm not up to public sweaty humiliation Grin Annoyed with myself really as had just completed day 20 and was due to move on to level 3 - think I'll need to go back a few days to get back into it.

Tortoise · 29/08/2010 15:24

Hello. Smile
I am back from our holiday and ready to get back to shred on Monday! As it will be my 3rd round of shredding i think i will vary which workout i do so maybe day 1, then day 2, day 3 and back to day 1 etc! See how i go with that. Didn't put any weigh on whilst away Smile.
I think my most hated part is my massive, wobbly thighs. Hated going in the pool because of them. But it wasn't like i was the biggest thighed person there so that made me feel better.

Level 1 day 7 here, after a few days off due to visitors. Will get day 8 & 9 done, then unfortunately travelling for a few days so won't get to day 10 (then level 2 - eek!) for a week or so.
Had a day walking round the shops today, and climbing stairs after shredding was hard!
TrollyDolly how are you getting on?

detoxdiva · 01/09/2010 20:32

Ok...Sept 1st and back on it! As 30 days in the month I am going to do it every day without fail!! Even after reaching day 20, I just felt that after 2 weeks off on holiday I needed to go back to the beginning again - still felt I was going to die on level 1 after such a break, but did manage to do the advanced moves for a change Grin

TrollyDolly1 · 01/09/2010 22:30

Hi busy! Fell off the wagon slightly but have clambered back up tonight. Going to do it every day now until my holiday!!! Promise lol. I will be thin, I will be thin. Keep it up busy

detoxdiva · 03/09/2010 20:50

Phew...day 3 done...and my thighs are killing me! Can certainly feel the difference in doing level 1 with 2kg weights as opposed to tins of beans Grin

saltcod · 03/09/2010 21:08

Can't wait for my copy to arrive Grin

monkeysmama · 06/09/2010 06:42

I'm two weeks into Level 1 and moving up to L2 today. I am finding a few things hard though and wonder if anyone can help.

Push ups - where is it supposed to hurt when you do them?

Crunches - I have a curved spine so have to have a cushion under me but my neck hasn't stopped hurting since I started so think I'm doing wrong (I know "the neck's not invited to this party Grin) Any tips anyone?

saltcod · 06/09/2010 13:14

Sorry, no tips for you Monkeysmama, although I also have neck problems and I always cradle my head in my hands for sit-ups rather than have my fingertips by my ears.

Started this dvd yesterday and didn't find it as brutal as I thought it was going to be. Had to stop a couple of times and walk on the spot when the jumping jacks or rope skipping thing got a bit much, plus I couldn't manage quite all of the one where you lift the weights above your head. But I'm able to move ok today, barely any aches... so that's a bonus! I read so many tales where people could barely move the next day I now wonder if I didn't workout hard enough!

LC200 · 06/09/2010 20:03

Monkeysmama, are you being careful to keep your chin off of your chest? Sorry if that's teaching your mother to suck eggs!

ViveLeCliche · 06/09/2010 21:39

Am tentatively hovering over the buy button on Amazon for the 30 day shred DVD (and accompanying York weights I see I will need) but am quietly terrified!

Have read through all your Shred threads to get me going so I might just have to do it.

Has anyone kept track of inches lost after 30 days? Also you all seem remarkably fit even before starting the Shred. Am I going to die?

Last work out DVD I did I must have been 14 or 15 years old. Have lost 12lb recently but have a LOT more left to go- AAARGH - however did have good success with powerplates classes and dropped 2 dress sizes in about 5 weeks going 3 times a week so am hoping shredding might have the same effect while I can't get to the gym.

BusyMissIzzy · 07/09/2010 09:36

Don't be afraid Vive, give it a go! Well done on the loss so far as well.

I'm back from a few days away so am getting back into it. Had got up to level 1 day 9, but decided to repeat day 9 today, do day 10 tomorrow and then (eek!) start level 2 after that.

I have a question though; on my previous regime (aerobics, kickboxing, running) I was losing weight fairly steadily,, about 1lb/week. Since starting shredding, I seem to have gained at least 1lb :( I've kept up with the running and also do aerobics after the Shred every other day. So... is the weight gain because I'm simply not burning as many calories? Or is it because I'm building muscle, and it will take a while before the fat-burning start? Or it is simply that a new exercise routine takes a while to kick in? Any insight appreciated :)

glasjam did you manage to start it last week? And are you still on the wagon Trolly?

dotty2 · 07/09/2010 12:56

Did my first day today! DD1 came to look at me when she woke up and told me I was doing the bicycle crunches wrong (she's 5)

Monkeysmama - there's something on her web site on the neck thing. I get this too, whenever I do abs (though don't have your spine prob, obviously).

ViveLeCliche · 07/09/2010 12:58

Thanks Busy - I have just clicked buy on amazon so when I am sore and unable to climb stairs I will be cursing blardy encouraging BusyMissIzzy on each ouch!

On the weight loss, from the sounds of it your muscle mass may have increased. Those scales that calculate fat percentage would probably tell you a different story. I had the same thing with Powerplates - have you measured yourself? I think for the Shred I'm just going to go by measurements - but going to have to stop myself measuring every day.

glasjam · 07/09/2010 13:23

Shame on me - the DVD still sits there awaiting me to set aside the time to do it. Can't work out when to do it - evening time, after all the kids have gone to bed or first thing before breakfast? When do you all do it? (very aware that I am procastinating as usual Blush)
